So cool to see you guys enjoying the trail. Hattie looks like she could do this every day. I think I will get my Dog Enzo a backpack too, just make sense that the dog carries its own food and water ;)
For sure! I think Hattie just needs more practice with it before she can carry that kinda weight for long distances. I’ve also heard that it helps them feel like they’re accomplishing something.
I took my pup Chase for a few overnights, and he loves the woods during the day. But he gets scared and has nervous poops at night. So, I stopped taking him. But that looks like a cool adventure. I'll have to lookup that trail.
This was really neat! Good for you two!! As a sober backpacker, I’m finding it hard to find other sober backpackers in my circles. So I thought I’ve thought about different dog breeds that would be cool to go on trips with. Pitties have always seemed like a great companion on the trail. I was wondering if you would ever consider more of a harness type dealio to hook the leash onto as opposed to a collar? Thank you both for this!!😊 NQU
Thank you! I’m biased, but pitties really can be the perfect dogs for backpacking cause they’re athletic but also are happy to just relax at camp. I actually usually do use harnesses for my dogs, but on this trip I was trying to keep her as cool and comfy as possible, so minimizing how much was on her body. She almost never pulls so the collar works just fine!
I needed this video! I am taking my 1 year old labrador for his 1st camping trip Solo and we are doing a 5.1 mile hike in Tobyhanna State Park next month! I have no idea how he will be in the camp or on the trail, but he loves being outside for sure!
I’m glad it was helpful! I’m sure he’ll do great. Hattie did so much better in the tent than I could’ve expected. I think dogs will always surprise us with how flexible they are. Hope y’all have fun!
I am screaming at her little backpack!!!!!
Love yer dog! Thanks for sharing your backpacking trip with us. 😀🐾
Been looking for more TH-camr travelers with dogs! Yay!
We got booties for our dog when he is in the tent so he won't puncture our sleeping pads...like he did the first time!
You guys did great
What a lovely trip, it's so nice to see such wonderful videos.
Aww she's adorable and did so good!
Wow. ❤ first time watching TH-cam channel and love it 😊😮
Nice! That manual espresso maker is amazing.
Pretty soon they’re gonna have to start paying me commission!

That’s frustrating! I was surprised Hattie seemed to have the opposite reaction. She was happy to sleep at night.
