Do you have any tips for cutting out players from photos? I have a hard time, especially with football (‘soccer’) players, because of the grass blades covering parts of the boots, etc.

I have tried to make this poster bro, but i can't solve the problem about keep the resolution while i'm changing image scale. can you help me?
only scale once in gimp to keep the quality. otherwise the quality will be lost. The solution is try to undo with ctrl+z to the default position and scale again.
