I am writing a blog about how to make traveling less stressful for my fellow passengers, especially if you have mobility issues like me. How are you dealing with all of this mess with weather? Fortunately, my family in Buffalo is safe.

I don’t think I have ever.... heard of closing the door with empty seats while cons were sitting at the gate, ready and waiting. I have seen revenue passengers come too late to the gate after the door has been closed but that is only after they have been paged and paged and paged and never showed up in time. I have even travelled home after Christmas one year where I was put in the jump seat in the flight deck along with my cat in her kennel that they managed to tuck in behind the captain’s seat.

Hi 👋🏾 if this is something you want to do then you should go for it! You’ll probably be taking a big pay cut since new FAs don’t make much money for about 5yrs. And you might have to relocate which can be challenging. So that’s those are biggest thing I’d consider.

You never really know where they’ll send you until they tell you. Usually you find out when you’re already weeks into training. You can ask the recruiter during the interview where the company is sending new hires but that’s not a guarantee. You should be prepared to move wherever they send you. Trying to commute while on probation isn’t a good idea. It puts you at risk for losing your wings you just sacrificed and worked hard for.
In reserve friendly crash pads you can. Most first yr flight attendants use it as a stepping stone until they can find something else. A crash pad isn’t somewhere you want to live full time for a long time. They’re often cramped and you don’t have much privacy or freedom as you would if you had your own place or even shared a place with a roommate.
