    I studied Persian years ago in some of the best programs (with lots of interruptions, including, sadly, the Iranian Revolution and its effect on our optimism and love of the discipline), and never ever have I come across a class so perfectly designed as this one.

    My note to my screen shot of Point No 2 - I invited him...etc. was to write "definite" between 'the' and 'direct' in line 2, and in the box below -- I added "of the verb" after 'direct object' in line no 3, and 'definite' before 'direct object' in the same line. I did this because for me a direct object of a verb is a direct object, period, whether indefinite or definite. I would constantly forget this rule, especially when saying, instead of yek ketab khandam, ketabi khandam....once I used the indefinite 'y', I was always trying to attach 'ra'. Even going back to this lesson after a couple of weeks, and knowing how to read Persian, I have to review this again. These lessons are a BOOK. Thank you, Maryam!

    I think we do this in Urdu and Punjabi as well, but instead of ra we use “ko/nu”
    E.g. I saw her: Mane (I) us (her/him) KO (same as Ra function) dekha(saw) tha.

    • @persianHow
      @persianHow  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, based on the sentence you write it seems like it equals to that. I’m glad you kind of have the equivalent. It makes it easier to learn and understand.

    You said that the comparative adjective triggers the article ra and you gave the example I read the bigger book. Should I use ra in sentences as I read A bigger book/SOME bigger books ?.

    • @persianHow
      @persianHow  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question and sorry for responding late! Your questions are helpful and they can help other learners as well!
      In this case it will not trigger را because the object is now indefinite ( a / some ).

    Assalamualaikum Maryam
    First of all thank you for the lessons, they are so detailed and amazing
    I have a few questions,
    How do you say 'help me' in farsi
    Beh man kamak mi kuni?
    And how do u say 'when' and 'why' in farsi
    Also in urdu we say dawat dena which means to give an invitation, thats how we say to invite, so in farsi do u say dawat daadan?

      Salaam
      You’re welcome. Thank you for your kind comment!
      Please see the answers to your questions below:
      Help me : به من كمك كن
      به من كمك مى كنى؟
      This means more “will you help me?”
      When : كى ( key)
      Why: چرا (chera)
      To invite: دعوت كردن
      We use كردن with دعوت
      Urdu and Farsi share so many words!
      Please let me know if you have any other questions!

      Yes Mam. I couldn't agree with you more. Farsi has great influence in Urdu language, infact all the famous Urdu poet used the Farsi as their catapult to harness their skill in poetry.

    At 23:43, who don't you say پروژه‌های سختریت را ? Or is it just to show that it can be the opposite order from the example before?

    • @persianHow
      @persianHow  25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      If I understood correctly, you’re asking why پروژه first and then سخترت ?
      Because in Farsi first comes the noun and then the adjective. The order is noun+ modifier
      Please let me know if that answered your question.
