- In this pre-election interview with BizNews, United Independent Movement (UIM) President Neil de Beer says his party will deal “harshly” with the matter of its youth leader, Devon Hofmeyr, attending a gala fundraiser for former President Jacob Zuma's MK Party. He vows the UIM will not form any alliances with the ruling African National Congress (ANC), the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), MK or any cabal. De Beer talks about the fear that MK - on a “massive march” - and the ANC might “become family again” - and that South Africa might have an ANC government again “by hook or by crook”. He speaks frankly about the “rocky affair” of the Multi-Party Charter (MPC), of which his party is a member, but gives the assurance that the MPC is still together - and going into the election “as a team”. He also describes the faultless strategy followed by Patriotic Alliance (PA) leader Gayton McKenzie in the war for the Western Cape. And he warns that the "continual slapping" of smaller parties by bigger parties at the dawn of coalitions, is “dangerous” because “it's a smaller party that's part of a bigger party's probable win of 50 plus one”.

I love all the ideas and suggestions, but things for now will never change because a large number of voters can't read for meaning, and sum can't even write, how is it possible for them to understand. The most of them support the ANC & MK.😢😢

You have an albatross around your neck, with the person who excluded Gayton Mc Kenzie from your alliance group. ( You may now have to form an alliance to remain in charge of the Western Cape )
I concede the DA has a good core of experienced people who can form cabinet, that you are a good leader. However, it is my informed opinion that SA is not ready for a “white” President, and we need a strong man who can make tough decisions to get our country back on the right road (without interference from relics in the party)

The MPC, inclusive of the Gayton McKenzie and the PA, could have pulled this through.
Despite the fact that this election has become a sideshow and irrelevance.. politics in the minds of our people remains a useful distraction from the reality that power is passing irrevocably from politicians and political parties, into the hands of local communities and the people themselves.. when we wake up to the power we already have, things will really start to change.
