Dr Piet Croucamp: DA should be safe in Western Cape; MK Party the wild card in election

On 29 May, millions of South Africans will head to the polls in what could be the first national election that sees voters topple the reigning ANC government. On Monday 20 May, Ilse Schoonraad of Group Editors Live interviewed political analyst Dr Piet Croucamp via Zoom about the elections and various factors at play. Croucamp, Associate Professor of Political Studies and International Relations at North West University, says South Africa under President Cyril Ramaphosa's ANC is saturated by corruption and the stats look much worse than during Jacob Zuma's rule. He says to turn things around, South Africans have to get rid of the ANC and the MK Party may well be the wild card. He also says the DA may be safe in the Western Cape.
