I so loved this show & it was an absolute favorite series of mine back then. I never missed it & loved all the characters & actors on this show! Loved Bonnie & Valerie in particular, got a kick out of the character Synder & loved Mackenzie, when she was on the series. Hated it & felt so bad when she left the series! Loved Bonnie’s understated acting & thought she made a great “mother” ( favorite) on this series! May Bonnie Franklin Rest In Peace & all those from this fantastic series that have sadly passed away! My favorite scene is when Julie is in a run down apt with her boy friend Chuck, Julie tells her mom all the things she wanted to do if she goes home, then Ann looks at her and says, then don't come home, and then Ann leaves, that was a very powerful scene,, I never forgot that
Love this show had a crush on valerie till this day but great memories thank u for all does wonderful moments that no one can take them or get them back god bless
This is much better than today's teenage-oriented show. People in 40 to 50 years ago are no different today. One thing different is they didn't have cell phones, social applications, Facebook, or Twitter. They seem to be so real compared to today's fake teen characters. Even they're around the age of my mother and father, I'm enjoying this like a hip show today.
@@sking2173 thank you for your reply. I have responded to your other comment. I agree with you about Mackenzie Phillips. She didn't appreciate everything that came her way. She is a druggie that told lies in her book.
Adorable red suit thumb nail pic, from the TV movie I was a mail order bride with Ted wass, aired on cbs. Btw you have 2 different ages for lembeck in 2021.
I used to watch a kids show, in the 1960's, Kukla, Fran and Ollie. Fabray was Fran. Fran and Ollie were hand puppets and they would do skits, comment on cartoons and have visitors like a fireman. She became deaf for reasons that were never quite clear and dropped out of show biz for decades until, for some reason, her hearing returned. Her daughter is Shelly (?) Fabares from the tv show Coach, the coach's love interest. Daughter kept the original last name spelling. Mom had spelled it phonically for her career.
My Mom grew up watching this show. I saw it on MeTV started watching it and she walked in singing the theme song and dancing. She's funny that way. I really like the show. But all the old shows are Really Good.
Valerie still looks good. Michael lembeck looks good. Glenn Scarpelli was cute then, but looks good now. Now Boyd Gaines looks like Timothy Hutton then and now.
The late Nicolette Larson(1952-1997) was VB maid of honor when VB married Eddie Van Halen in 1981.Nicollette never got the credit she deserved.Poor girl.
I loved the show back in the day. My head is still spinning from the sordid details about her relationship with her father. He was a member of The Mamas & the Papas. Is it wrong of me to go there when I think of her? It makes me sick to think about it.
I was shocked when Valerie disclosed he was heavy into drugs in her youth. I think her brother introduced them to her, sadly. She was even high on her wedding day, as well as Eddie. She once dated a Steven Spielberg as well. She even dated women for awhile. She disclosed this on Oprah years ago, while promoting her memoir. She grew up wealthy as well. I think her dad was a VP of some company. I saw a few of her TV movies last spring from the 80's. They were pretty good.
Valerie shocked a lot of people because I think people confused her with the character she played. She was supposed to be the "good one". But we should have been suspicious when she married Eddie Van Halen - LOL! And it turned out she was probably wilder than he was! It's always those cute ones people think are quiet. Plus, I think it helped her that MacKenzie had so much drama going on because people were watching her antics and not noticing Valerie doing her dirty. LOL!
Why do some of them look older than you say they are Valerie Bertinelli possibly looks 10-year-older Nanette Fabray looks 10-years-older Pat Harrington Jr. Looks 9-years-older Mackenzie phillps looks 9-years-older Richard Masur looks 8-years-older Michael Lembeck looks 8-years- older Boyd Gains looks 8-years-older Glenn Scarpelli looks 6-years-older Bonnie Franklin looks 4-year-older

Blast from the past. Loved this show but never thought the mom and daughters looked at all related!
I grew up watching that show. I was 14 in 1980 and my parents were 36 in 1980. That was an awesome show!! !!
I was 3 in 1970 and I remember it from later seasons.
Richard Masur's voice sounds EXACTLY the same now as in the clip shown. I can close my eyes and picture the younger Masur mouthing the words.
Well done!
