Minshew is a solid QB. He actually did something more impressive than anyone recently. He won six games in Jacksonville as a rookie. When Jacksonville had jack shit for an O-Line, jack shit for a receiving corps, and a terrible defense. Minshew was putting up good numbers. I'm good with GM. Better than Jimmy G. We have a good defense. No one and I mean no one is running on us. We are good this year guys. One thing we all saw last year were the guys playing for Antonio Pierce. This team responded to coach. Our defense was #1 against the score from week 9 to week 18. We will stop teams with our defense and Minshew is decent. I like what we have this year.
Am I the only one who paid attention to what was actually said?!? Minshew is going to start the first 4 games because they think he gives us the best chance to win those games while I'm assuming Aiden continues to develop. But, AP DID NOT say he would be starting the whole season, and he also said Aiden will see some playing time. The big thing is the first quarter of the season is what Minshew is getting. Which means that someone else is making these decisions for AP, but there is a compromise somewhere.

This move potentially gives them the best chance for first four games. When Kolten returns, if GM is struggling, they may make a change to AOC and ride out the season. Yes, it was a mistake going with Minshew. AOC made 1 mistake last night. However, his passes were much crisper and he moved the offense much better. Minshew through a couple of bad passes that could have easily been picks. That said, I am now behind Minshew 100%.

The decision to start the season with Minshew may have been the result of injuries to the starting Left Tackle & Left Guard. The backups on the left side of the O-line are pathetic. With no Blindside Protection, Aden would be constantly under ridiculous pressure. If Minshew doesn’t perform up to standard during the first quarter of the season, Aden can come in with fully healthy O-line.
The mistake happened months ago when they didn't go and get a good QB or even draft one. Pierce had to choose between 2 Mid QB's. only one is making 25 mil....So he starts. Peace
Minshew played a really good defense, just needs more chemistry with the 1s, and his receivers did not run good routes for him. Hands down he was the better QB 🏴☠️. AOC throwing a pic-six against the 2nd and 3rd strings is a huge red flag...
If they stick with this decision, I think they've effectively squashed any legitimate chance for AOC to be a future franchise QB. I think he did have a chance, but he needed valuable game experience to develop into that role. They basically decided that AOC will only ever be a backup. I don't like it. I'll take one or two fewer wins this season going with AOC (assuming that would even happen vs. Minshew) to be in a better QB situation next year. It's about planning for the future. Long-term, the Raiders did not get better with this decision.
I don’t get it… they drafted Brock bowers for his ability to create with the ball in his hands. Minshew is not great at giving his play makers that opportunity. Yards after the catch is super low with him at qb. Everything that AP said about why they went with minshew sounds like he knows the playbook better and that is it. Not mobility. It's not really a mistake. Their both mediocre QBs. AOC really didn't play well enough to be the starter and neither did Minshew. And remember, Minshew should have had a pick 6 earlier in 1st qtr. Really not a mistake. AOC didn't really take command of the situation. Maybe AP is concerned about the oline with Miller and Powers not being ready early in season, hence starting the mobile QB.

Huge mistake. But what can we expect from telesco. Had a history of over paying for players and overpaid Minshew. Both AP and telesco saving face to stay in good graces with Mark davis. What does it say when the guy they overpaid and brought in is BEATEN BY THE CHEAP YOUNG QB. minshew got more reps into the 2nd qtr in efforts to see some improvement. But minshew DID NOT IMPROVE. AP waited for Aidan to make a mistake and he did. Pulled him out immediately, so it's the lasting image we as fans have of Aidan Therefore Ap could justify making this terrible move. Aidan was the better QB in preseason and camp.

You have Aiden who’s still a rookie, trying to keep pace with a six year vet as he held his own neck n neck. That should say a lot about Aiden. His skill level is better and he has a higher ceiling than Minshew and he’s keeping pace if not outplaying him at times. It was supposed to be Aiden’s year for him to be evaluated as a possible franchise QB or not. Where did that idea go? This tells us nothing. Now they have to draft a QB next year because there’s no way Minshew is the future of this organization. Then our new QB needs what two, three years to develop? Now we’re looking about four years away now from having a franchise QB? Or who knows maybe we’ll never get one again?
Guys, O'Connell didn't lose the job based off that pick six he threw. Its not how it works. The decision was based off play style and skill sets they feel minshew has over O'Connell that they want for the type of offensive scheme they are trying to roll out. If it were just that, minshew could've easily thrown pick six in the first qtr on a terrible throw if the db had not dropped the ball Like almost everyone, I'm not sold. I do think O'Connell is the better natural passer and qb, maybe they felt he wasn't putting out and wanted to send a message. AP waited for Aidan to make a mistake and he did. Pulled him out immediately, so it's the lasting image we as fans have of Aidan
Therefore Ap could justify making this terrible move.
Aidan was the better QB in preseason and camp.

You have Aiden who’s still a rookie, trying to keep pace with a six year vet as he held his own neck n neck. That should say a lot about Aiden. His skill level is better and he has a higher ceiling than Minshew and he’s keeping pace if not outplaying him at times. It was supposed to be Aiden’s year for him to be evaluated as a possible franchise QB or not. Where did that idea go? This tells us nothing. Now they have to draft a QB next year because there’s no way Minshew is the future of this organization. Then our new QB needs what two, three years to develop? Now we’re looking about four years away now from having a franchise QB? Or who knows maybe we’ll never get one again?

Guys, O'Connell didn't lose the job based off that pick six he threw. Its not how it works. The decision was based off play style and skill sets they feel minshew has over O'Connell that they want for the type of offensive scheme they are trying to roll out. If it were just that, minshew could've easily thrown pick six in the first qtr on a terrible throw if the db had not dropped the ball
Like almost everyone, I'm not sold. I do think O'Connell is the better natural passer and qb, maybe they felt he wasn't putting out and wanted to send a message. Lets keep in mind this just means minshew will be the week 1 starter, it doesn't we won't see O'Connell in there at some point, pierce even hinted that in the press conference. I think minshew will be on a very short leash
