poor vonderhaar, the man gets a bad rap for trying to do the right thing. This man shouldn't have to leave his job because he is used as the scapegoat.
Jmplaza 21 Who vonderhaar? The one trying to stop all of this supply drop shit? The one who has helped make call of duty what it was? That the one you talking about?
+Dru Senich Yah, but you're not the one getting a shitload of money from kids for micro transactions either. There's no reason to stop if everyone keeps giving them money.
+Dru Senich Personally I don't agree with you there. Yes, there should be a thing where there is a guaranteed or atleast 50/50 chance of getting a weapon, however, where is the thrill of, against the odds, getting a new weapon in a supply drop when all you have to do is save up (IG or IRL) to buy it. Pointless. Treyarch have done REALLY well in making BO3 muliplayer long lasting (with hero challenges, Dark Matter, Dark Ops, etc), making it consistently guaranteed a weapon will just kill it faster.
+Derek Newton he's not going to give an honest review cuz if he does they going to get mad at him if he says the truth he has to make them gun sound good
Games 10 years ago: 1 price, get the full game. Games 5 years ago: buy the game, get half of the game, buy season pass (DLCs) get the full game. Games Right Now (Activision Style): buy the game, get 40% of the game, buy the season pass, get another 40%, buy extra stuff (supply drops) for thousands of dollars, get another 20%.
+PianoTutorials333 DLC are what they are, DLC, you don't need them. If you honestly think that games have less content than they do 10 years ago then you really need to go play some games instead of protesting on TH-cam.
+PianoTutorials333 Except zombies isn't even the main game, technically the campaign is, multiplayer and zombies are just extras, which is more than 10 years ago.
None of Treyarch would be getting paid for it since Activision forced them into it and will be receiving around 99.9% of all the revenue, if Treyarch were getting paid extra for it, they would have a choice whether to do it or not.
david and a lot of my friends keep blaming david for this crap and i try to tell them their wrong. thank you for making this video now i can show then their wrong
Great video! I've been playing CoD myself since CoD4 came out, and there's 4 CoDs that are highly addicting to play for me; CoD4, WaW, Mw2 and Bo2. All of these games didn't need supply drops. One game had only 1 DLC pack too - CoD4 - and still had one of the longest lifelines of modern FPS. Personally, I don't believe the game would necessarily fail without, it's just that it's hard to be a core CoD player when the game direction changes so much. At first the community wanted change, wanted something different to break the feeling. In the last 3 CoDs I think it has shifted from one extreme to another, from a basic principle of boots on the ground, to a mild version of what was considered the bad extreme (being the vertical, horizontal and diagonal movement mechanics) after the bad extreme was introduced (AW). Now, put a money scheme like Supply Drops in it and it becomes something that feels kind of.. alienating to the core community, which is ironic considering we're moving towards that era. I don't mind change as a gamer, especially not things that add to the game and not change how it plays. The thing is, we all know that the gameplay changes dramatically with introducing the weapons through Supply Drops. I'm not talking about the knives, because that's kind of cool and stuff, but the weapons do change gameplay. I have the MX Garand at the moment by sheer luck spending Cryptokeys in the Cryp x2 weekend. I started playing with it, but I notice that it's so powerful in a certain way of playing, that I can easily get a decent K/D every. single. time. The same goes for the MP40, it's incredible in terms of guns out there. Aside from changing the gameplay, it's absolutely bonkers how low the chances are to get an actual weapon out of the Supply Drops with all of the extra things that are in there too (think cosmetics and what not), in comparison to how much you pay for CoD points. There's two solutions to this, which personally I don't see either happening; Activision removing the DLC weapons from Supply Drops entirely, and moving them to a separate Supply Drops with a higher Cryptokey payment, or lowering the price of CoD points. I just hope Activision realises that something needs to change to keep that core community alive and in turn, make money due to that. I think there would be a lot of players willing to drop money on a DLC pack that contains a new weapon, 5 new maps (1 zombie map if it's Treyarch) and a cosmetic pack. Spike that to 20 bucks, bring out one DLC pack per 2 months or keep bringing out DLC after the year cycle for a discount. The latter would require a different team though, as of course the main team would be working on the next CoD in their teamcycle. *looks back at post* Man, I wrote quite a bit.. whoops TL;DR - Activision should start realising that the longevity (lifecycle) of a game is partially destroyed by enabling Supply Drops the way they are introduced, and take action against something that the core community is against. It can be a great thing to have, but fucks up quickly when things that will change gameplay are introduced to it against the slim odds that some have to get it in the first place. *Edit purpose; Tired, sleepy, my brain isn't functioning .-.
If you are looking for a functionning supplt drop system you can find that at battlefield 4. Battlepacks are pretty much the same thing as the supply drops but they are not a key feature for battlefield 4 and you still can get a lot of battlepacks just by playing the game.
Its honestly so sad that Activision does this, its good to finally know and realize that it isnt treyarch causing all these problems. Before I hated on Treyarch not knowing it was all Activision, good to know Vondy is a good guy that just wants to make his games the best he possibly can, and not just in it for the money.
I've probably had at least 50 rare supply drops since they introduced new weapons, without getting a weapon. Then I got one, the carver. Bullshit. I get something that doesn't give me an upper hand and looks like the knife. People (like me) spend 90 bucks total on the game for game and season pass, and there's still content we don't have, once again, bullshit.
I feel bad for the actual vonderhaar. It's activisions fault, and everyone goes around shouting VONDERHAAR! Over and over again. It's stupid. Give the guy a break. #BlackMarketBlackout
Exactly, all my friends just tweet him angrily and I constantly tell them not to do it because it's not his fault. He gets so much hate for no reason and it sickens me because he's such a nice guy. (Met him at E3)
+OutlawGamingLP The stupid thing is nobody listens. I told someone hating him in the comments of a different video and he told me to fuck off. People just don't listen and just shout VONDERHAAR whenever something bad happens. It's just stupid. #DontHateVondy #BlackMarketBlackout
hes gonna quit thats sad man ive played his game since i turned 18 if he does come back i wish activision would just fuck off and let him do what he wants
the arms dealer should allow you to buy weapons from other cods...but randomly of course you pick the class of weapon you wanna pay for and it selects a weapon randomly from that class and they should be prices differently
one of the reasons that the Advanced supply drops came out in AW was because all the COD youtubers were asking for a way to buy supply drops but now it appears that ALL the COD youtubers want it to change in BO3
Bo3 is VERY alive. A looooot of people including myself is still loving bo3 and think it's still one of the best cod's. It's only supply drops that are the problem, if there weren't supply drops, there would be 0 problems with bo3.
+LukeLewiTV Bo3 is the bo2 of next gen. people barely play bo2 on old gen. llast time i checked it was around 1,444 in total with tdm taking the major spot of most people playing
+iCytus ㅤ yeah I was literally thinking of getting a new Xbox 360 (coz my old one broke which is why I got a ps4) just for bo2 coz I thought cod was going so down hill, but bo3 is so enjoyable that it changed my mind and I will probably be on bo3 for a while.
Vonderhaar's silence speaks volumes about how he feels. He's not ignorant to the community's sentiments. I hope he doesn't actually leave over this. ohh yeah, DAVID... and u got a new sub. well done bro
I heard a better detailed story about this but I the guy never mentioned about David possibly leaving. It actually makes me sad that he might leave because Activion are money whores. But I hope he doesn't leave also
David i think they should implement a ghost system. if you get the season pass either you get the dlc weapons free or for a discount. but have it to where you can buy the weapons themselves instead of spending ungodly amounts of money in hopes of getting one.
Wow CoD is doing better than ever right now? I personally think Bo3 is shit, but that's just my opinion. I'm more of a old school CoD player. Mw3, and anything before it.
So because you don't like the game it can't be doing better than ever?? Whether you like something or not doesn't mean shit to anyone besides yourself.
Roshizzle731 no, I was agreeing that old cods were more fun and more addictive, I never brought up how many kids want dark matter and grind their heads off (which I was guilty of until I got it) and I definitely never mentioned anything bad about the game
They should make a supply drop that gives you a GUARANTEED weapon. MAYBE (just an idea) 10$ gives you a guaranteed NON DUPLICATE weapon (wether it be a melee weapon or gun). 10$ for one supply drop that gives you a guaranteed non duplicate weapon.
I like how you can gamble for guns, but i don't like how there is no guaranteed way of getting something you really want. You basically get super hyped when you get a new weapon, instead of you buying it.
That's what Treyarch was going to do originally for the people with the Season Pass, and then have camos, and emblems into packs. But then Activition became money whores and then put everything Into the packs. I just hope they atleast reward the season pass holders with something before the last DLC and next COD comes out.
he can secretly remove the supply drops then say to activision , "nobody buys them anymore" and if activision wanna test or something he can show a copy of the game that has supply drops
Here is the thing with CS:GO cases 1. The guns aren't any better just plain cosmetic changes 2. There isn't a new CS every year so your "skins" aren't obsolete next November 3. CS allows trading and selling COD doesn't have anything 4. The odds are bad but almost better than COD (somehow) 5. CSGO has a base price of 15 dollars COD is 60 + DLC which you almost need just to keep up with the active player base
On a reddit post on July 31, 2014. CSGO cases was able to cash in 10 million in 180 days. They're all cosmetic and nobody complains. COD BO3 casses made rougly 2B in a year and we have new weapons, cosmetics and low af drop rates. People have a BM black out and you have kids dropping everything they are doing, and CAMPING just to take your new weapon thst they dont have
Liked the gameplay a lot I'm a huge uplink spawn trapper on Xbox 1 and my friends and I just go for nukes (top 1800 in the world) and I was just wondering what streak you got in this
If they do the arms dealer do it like 1 day a month so then you get all guns in the supply drop for 24 hrs and then go back to everything for the other 29 days
They should make all the taunts universal! Like if you get the dab you should be able to do it with everyone! Now they set it up where they make one dance move and they force you to get it 8 more times for everyone -_-
I would totally pay for a $15 DLC pack that includes all current supply drop weapons and the new ones. Idgfaf about the maps, I just want me some nice looking weapons.
Lol. That's not what they said. They said camos and and specialist items were purely cosmetic. Meaning they wouldn't change the players or the weapons stats. They never said they wouldn't add new weapons.
I've got the mx garand , but if I could I would give it away because people who bought cod points deserve it more than I do... I hope Treyarch know what they want to do to solve the problem
I bought the season pass, bought COD points got to master prestige and even have dark matter and I have not unlocked any of the new guns I just feel like new guns are so rare to unlock and can go to those undeserving so easily if they spend a lot of money
I got to 8th prestige within the first 2 or 3 weeks of the release and stopped playing for a few months because my friends weren't able to play. I just started playing again a week or two ago with friends and have been grinding and sweat-banding like crazy to get cryptokeys and to my surprise, I got the Marshall a few days ago and then got the MX Garand yesterday.
There is one thing that cannot get into my mind. If Treyarch was against the supply drops, they should have made the drop rates extremely better than making it extremely terrible.
i agree 100%. ive spent almost 200 bucks on cosmetic items in Smite but im not putting a dollar into cod until it changes. i havent even played black ops for over a month. i can understand gambling to an extent. for example Smite does chests and yes you may not get what you want from the chest but they have a limited amount of items in it. Maximum of 56 items, but sometimes theyre as low as 6 or 8 items so its way better odds than what cod is doing and until they change im not playing.
No need to fix supply drops... just remove them all together. Remember the good old days when you simply played the game and unlocked stuff as you went *sigh* those were better times
Ok so I've been a part of the black out and watching my keys stack up. It's been hype cause I can't wait to spend them all once the drops get buffed again and cod stops being unoriginal cancer. BUT how am I gonna know when it gets buffed? I'm only subscribed to driftor and marksman.
I never knew about the whole story of this until last week and I found out how Activition screwed over the Season Pass holders. But I thought Treyarch wanted to be like Sledgehammer with the packs but I was wrong. FUCK YOU ACTIVITION
Like he said, I wouldn't mind spending money on items. But I want to spend my money on the item of my choice, not a CHANCE at an item I really want. That's what makes them seem greedy; they know we have to keep spending money over and over to get the good stuff. At the very least they could eliminate dupes or limit them to like 2 or something.
poor vonderhaar, the man gets a bad rap for trying to do the right thing. This man shouldn't have to leave his job because he is used as the scapegoat.

..we should get it dumbass
i agree, we payed an extra 50 dollars, and we are not any better than those without it, we spent more money, we should get more stuff

Your gameplay is distracting me from what you're saying, it's insane
Great stuff green goblin, good video, great info...Activision are wankers
a simple solution is add a shop where you can buy guns for cryptokeys, like a butterfly knife could be worth 500
I hate it when people say that the melee weapons like the rench is better than the knife the rench is pretty much a shin for the knife
Damn dude stop begging for likes so hard. It makes me not want to like at all especially when you say "I think I deserve it".
That gameplay though. Dropping nukes like breathing air.
I like how you can gamble for guns, but i don't like how there is no guaranteed way of getting something you really want. You basically get super hyped when you get a new weapon, instead of you buying it.
I dont really like the new guns every month thing bc pros and stuff are always first to get it and i see that gun in a lobby i know im screwed
Its stupid how some people pay a lot for the season pass and we don't get all these dlc weapons, we deserve to get all of them!

4. The odds are bad but almost better than COD (somehow)
5. CSGO has a base price of 15 dollars COD is 60 + DLC which you almost need just to keep up with the active player base
New drinking game:
Take a shot everytime goblin says "today" in his videos
On a reddit post on July 31, 2014. CSGO cases was able to cash in 10 million in 180 days. They're all cosmetic and nobody complains. COD BO3 casses made rougly 2B in a year and we have new weapons, cosmetics and low af drop rates. People have a BM black out and you have kids dropping everything they are doing, and CAMPING just to take your new weapon thst they dont have
David - the gameplay in the background is amaizing !!!
"Call Of Duty is doing better than ever right now" LOOOOOL
Liked the gameplay a lot I'm a huge uplink spawn trapper on Xbox 1 and my friends and I just go for nukes (top 1800 in the world) and I was just wondering what streak you got in this
If they do the arms dealer do it like 1 day a month so then you get all guns in the supply drop for 24 hrs and then go back to everything for the other 29 days
I wouldn't complain about supply drops if the higher your prestige and level, the higher your chances of epic/legendary items.
They need to patch the glitch when u pick up uplink ball and ur character spazes out
Great topic. Awesome gameplay. I'm subscribing right now.
I wouldnt mind supply drops if the game went F2P. but with all the money we already put into the game.. its ridiculous.
30 second ad - no skipping....Better get some popcorn
+Panda Boy or adblock lol
Showdown and Chill not about dat kinda life
They should make all the taunts universal!
These devs make 60k to 120k plus annually that's a great salary and they get bonuses if it's in there contracts.
Xx lindgroonie xX It is random to get it but still , people need a increased change or buff for season pass and cod points buyers
I got to 8th prestige within the first 2 or 3 weeks of the release and stopped playing for a few months because my friends weren't able to play. I just started playing again a week or two ago with friends and have been grinding and sweat-banding like crazy to get cryptokeys and to my surprise, I got the Marshall a few days ago and then got the MX Garand yesterday.
what a beast gameplay in the background what was that like a 50 gunstreak ???
Advanced warfate wasn't a pay to win game. It just took some patients. I never bought anything for it and dominated in that game.
There is one thing that cannot get into my mind.
If Treyarch was against the supply drops, they should have made the drop rates extremely better than making it extremely terrible.
They can't Activision controls the odds.
David vonderhaar is correct about if we shouldn't have them
i agree 100%. ive spent almost 200 bucks on cosmetic items in Smite but im not putting a dollar into cod until it changes. i havent even played black ops for over a month. i can understand gambling to an extent. for example Smite does chests and yes you may not get what you want from the chest but they have a limited amount of items in it. Maximum of 56 items, but sometimes theyre as low as 6 or 8 items so its way better odds than what cod is doing and until they change im not playing.
you or simply dm
it is cosmetic, HG 49 just a reskin
Sniper, locus reskin with aim asist,
marshal , a shotgun
all melee , all does the same
Hello Goblin, Can I have the link to the article you got this information from please?
That idea with the skins in genius
No need to fix supply drops... just remove them all together. Remember the good old days when you simply played the game and unlocked stuff as you went *sigh* those were better times
treyarch didn't wanted supply drops in the game, but you can't say no to a 5 billion dollar industry like activision
No more supply drops means a huge cut to activisions revenue. So I doubt they would take it away. They want your money
Josh Daro and actvision would stop sponsoring treyarch so no more treyarch CODS.
I sort of miss vandi. He had a fun relationship with the community
The last DLC is our holy crusade to rescue the princess vonderhar to fight the evil apothican Activision
David. Loved the vid.Keep up the good work
I have literally said this during aw, but everyone hated on sledgehammer, greedy ass activison
I never knew about the whole story of this until last week and I found out how Activition screwed over the Season Pass holders. But I thought Treyarch wanted to be like Sledgehammer with the packs but I was wrong. FUCK YOU ACTIVITION
They should make it so you get the extra weapons with the season pass
It seems like Activision is-some how forcing the three cod developers to "take the blame" on supply drops
I don't hate vondy but which is more fun to scream when u get crap in a drop. VONDERHAAAR or ACTIVISION?
That moment you have the brass knuckles, wrench, and MX garand. heh.... heh
I've played cod since call of duty 4, but it seems like they'll milking everything from the loyal cod players
Rockstar ain't that bad because their DLCs are free and they have sooo much money, they don't need the money and actually do good
+ZACH DA BOSS lol fr
Dlc is free but the shit in the Dlc cost 2mill$
+MrTMinionify ya but you can mod so easily on PS3 or Xbox 360 and transfer the money and shit
+ZACH DA BOSS ya Ik I'm just comparing the two
+MrTMinionify I just take part in every event that has double money and i have about 10 mil right now
