I have a 79 I bought from a guy I used to work with he bought it new in 79 lost his licenses in 80 and parked it behind the barn. And that is where I pulled it out from. I’m trying to get it done an take it back to him and let him drive it. You have a pretty nice LRE
my mom has a 79 little red truck, from California only built 10% or approximately 520 out of the 5118 Li'l Reds built in 1979, that has both the red interior and Air Conditioning, she loves it and drives it she is 74 years old, i'm just her mechanic and she tells me its her's not mine lol
I worked for Dodge in '79. I remember a Vette owner making fun of Lil Red at a stop light. Then my buddy who's dad owned the dealership blew the Vette away.
I bought a 1979 LRE new in 79. Six months ago I bought another 79. The current one shows 62,000 miles and runs strong. I feel very lucky to be able to own one of these not once, but twice!
I bought one new Early 1979. No clue where it ended up or if it stayed in Phoenix Area. Still have the invoice for it. It was a great truck and fastest production vehicle in 1979. (american manufacturers)
Randy, I bought a '79 in the Phoenix area back in 1993 & have been looking for it's history/original owner. Those I bought it from were of no help. It was obviously in the Phx area it's whole life. What is the build number (last of the vin#) on the invoice you have? I know that my build date is March 14th of '79, that is kind of an early build.
@@dougmcclafferty Over weekend I was searching for other vehicle info and ran across the original invoice for truck. I have many many file cabinets full and just did a quick search but did not spot it. Simply do not recall which cabinet I saw it. I will respond if found. I have photo's of it here in Phx in front of a JC Penny store and another location but would need VIN to verify as there were quite a few in area. Mine had the extra gauges with factory tachometer. I did add headers early on.
oops did not read all comments and realize you already posted that info. 15.0 at 9x mph. Had top speed around 130. 15.1 mpg best I ever got 55 mph cruise on a 800 mile round trip.
