5 *LIFE CHANGING* habits that got me into medical school
Before I discovered these transformative habits, I felt lost, weighed down by self-doubt, and often abandoned my goals before seeing them through. Implementing these habits completely changed the trajectory of my life. They helped me become the driven, focused version of myself that gave 100% towards my dreams-and getting into medical school became a byproduct of that growth. When people say, “act successful to be successful,” they’re really talking about building the habits, routines, and systems that empower you to become the best version of yourself.
Hi everyone! I’m Monika Bapna. I recently completed my 3rd year of medical school and am currently in a research year focused on dermatology. I create content on productivity, study tips, mindset, and discipline to help premeds and medical students succeed in their journeys. If this resonates with you, hit subscribe!
Why Habits Matter:
Habits shape who we become, driving 90% of our outcomes. By building routines aligned with your goals, you become the person capable of achieving them. Want to learn how? Keep watching.
Broadman’s Principle:
Inspired by an old farmer's fable, this principle underscores the importance of focusing on what you can control. Shifting my focus from uncontrollable factors to what I could actively change transformed my approach to success and helped me build powerful habits. I’ll break it down further in this video.
Powerful Habits Discussed:
Working Out: Fitness taught me discipline, resilience, and the mindset to tackle challenges.
Reading: Books gave me access to wisdom, mentors, and normalized my struggles.
Influences: The people and environments we engage with shape our beliefs and drive.
Relationship with Failure: I learned to embrace mistakes as growth opportunities, freeing myself from fear and self-doubt.
Each of these habits played a vital role in my journey to medical school. By reframing how we approach goals, setbacks, and influences, we empower ourselves to reach new heights. Remember, meaningful change starts from within.
