Yours? Happy Birthday! Dunno what mine was. Haven't paid that much attention. Did you see the bashing Sonicware's XFM got on Bad Gear? I've had one since it came out. It's not as bad as he says. ...But that doesn't stop the bashing... Gear can be so high school popularity contest.... I know for sure people just want to bash on social media, without ever having played one....
@@DetroitMicroSound I think it's more of his brand than him actually attacking it. We all know Sonicware is probably one of the best things to happen in the Music Tech world.
@@AveMcree Haters, doing what they do. I'm really glad he finally did a Sonicware synth I play, because now Yu Endo will need to really make the firmware completely dope now, and bug-free, to prove a lot of haters wrong. 😁
I went and heard that it was much larger before the pandemic I felt like I saw everything but it was cool finally meeting other content creators. A lot were from ATL.
That polyend tracker took the check bro. I've been watching it for a few weeks and just bought it today. I love being on my laptop at work but with that tracker I'll be able to pull it out of the bag on site. I used trackers before but on an old iPod touch, this is straight up hardware. I'm ready to rumble.
My favorite piece of gear so far was the Polyend Tracker Mini, looking forward to your review. I would love to get one but that price point is no joke. 🤑☠️

Top SW: Sound Particles SkyDust 3D, PSound Gran Coda (Fazioli), U-he Filterscape, Astral Probalistic Synth, Bitwig Studio 5, Latest PhasePlant update with granular oscillator.
Definitely do a Tracker Mini breakdown vid. I saw the $699 price on their site and not gon lie ma boi, closed tab immediately so I dont get too invested. But it is exactly what ive been thinking about pairing with my MPC One and my Roland VT4. Studio in a backpack vibes.
The high price is not only because of the 8h battery, you now get stereo sampling (hallelujah), A much more powerful CPU and 4X more memory and a pretty decent mic to sample with. They're going to need to bump the price of the original tracker or this will compete with sales, straight up, or even better.. a new version of the original tracker would be nicer tho as I need my jog wheel and button grid.
Cass-CAY-dia with the accent on CAY. Like cascade? It is an ARP 2600 clone. You should try the M8 tracker which has sampling and does about 50 times what the new Polyend does.
Seeing how you might utilize modular and/or Eurorack is an interesting idea. Eurorack seems like an overwhelming endeavor! I owned the Minibrute 2S for a bit and thought it was decent value for what you get, but ultimately sold both it ands Drumbrute Impact… eyeing that Pittsburg semi-modular desktop piece now.
Hey @avemcree we got some love from Sonic State viewers about our new groovebox, Beatwarp and it debuted at NAMM 100%. Gonna post a video this weekend showing @baseck doing some beats on it, but if you’re interested as our Kickstarter gets closer (end of summer), let me know!
Hey Bro Can u answer some questions left side of the screen on MPC Live II .temperatures rises not so much bot im worried ! its fine ? its not hot but only left part where is black Frame!!!!
Good stuff I want that tracker. I’m a hip hop modular guy. Many people say I can use an octatrac but I did that for ten years and not the same. Would love to share it
Do you think I’d regret buying a mpc live II within the next couple months ? I’ll regret it if a new one is announced soon so do you think a new one would come out soon ?
aruba basically looks like Machine and attempting to fit imbatwean that and a MPC not sure there is room in the market for that. The SP 404 is in the same market however comes with something different it's not just another MPC inspired device.
I could definitely use that Cascadia, link My 3 sythersizors to it that are kinda to big to have out side by side on My desk. I have never used two physical sythersizors together for this reason.
That Nektar Aruba (Aura) looked so nice, that I ordered one off of Amazon over the weekend. The workflow is really nice in Ableton Live, which is what I use. I watched a couple of videos over the years on this one and everyone seemed to love love love the pads on it. Can't go wrong, for the price @ $293 vs a Push 2 @ $799 and ya... I don't like the pads on a Push. I will let you know how it goes.
I love my Aura! I have two. I want to mod my 2nd Aura out. Love my Nektar P1. The only thing from NAAM that I’m definitely getting is the Nektar Panorama CS12 . Definitely an upgrade. Check it out Ave. Don’t sleep on Nektar Technology. Still MPC Gang tho. Lol
@Ave Mcree A firmware update would be great since Akai kicks out MPC updates like religiously, lol. And maybe an Ableton face-lift, too. A way to color code tracks would be amazing along with several other things to bring it into the 20's
Some modular gear demos with any standalone gb's would be cool. I still can't get my mikrokorg S to work with my LIVE2 or Maschine+ and yeah I know damned well it's user error I STILL can't get my midi connections correct or global clock or step sequence functionality...just keeping it a bean! Peace and love...yessssss polyend tracker mini is on the radar!
Yeah man. I was really hoping NAMM would reveal a new drum machine from Roland, Akai, Korg, Native Instruments...I'm so disappointed by what was shown. What a let down. No new MPC? No new Maschine? No new TR 8X or something beyond the 8S? (Siiiiiigh). OH well....thanks for the vid Ave
I went live with SkyDust 3D, the day before NAMM, and again the following day. The one thing I kept saying is how much better it would be to play it with the Osmose...low and behold, that was the setup, at NAMM. It doesn't look like they did much of anything for the 50th Anniversary of Hip-Hop, either. Nothing new to look at beyond that Polyend. I am glad I didn't go, this time around.
Help me understand why the Mini should cost less than the OG Tracker? The main cost isn't determined by the physical size or the total amount of plastic mass, but rather the chips (cpu, memory) and other vital components such as the screen, batteries, etc, and of course manufacturing costs. If anything, the Mini could end up having a higher COGS due to these upgrades. I just don't see why this notion that the price is off is so widespread in the community.
@@AveMcree Yeah I agree with the competition. I guess my point was that between the OG and this new Mini, it's not unreasonable that they cost the same.
I really was hyped and stupid enough to believe that Akai would came out with new MPCs on the NAMM Show. I was waiting weeks for nothing. I am mad about my self. 🎉
I'm glad I didn't waste my time going to NAMM. Personally I am more interested in MOOG MiniMoog Model D or an AKAI MPC with a real update including much higher specs (Processor and RAM). Nothing on the list of from what I've heard of is going to get my money. I am interested in modular and semi modular. I do love modular.
@@AveMcree I think I am setting in this year to really focus on production, and, a lot less on purchasing. Since my recent synth and sampler purchases I have a great appreciation for just sitting down and deeply learn the hardware I have. I have in the past purchased a lot of VSTs. I am not very happy about it because I am not very likely to use VSTs, even great ones, if I have anything hardware that I can get close to my Idea. I now have enough hardware synth power and hardware sampling power, and field recording hardware to really do anything I want to do. I purchased the Moog Matriarch and Waldorf Iridium Keyboard last year. With what I already had (MPC one and SP 404 MK2, and some other great synths), for me to open my wallet, it is going to have to be something really special that none of my current equipment can do; and, I have not seen anything yet.
