    The thing that is so rediculous about this is it's nothing to do with the Steam Deck, it's completely on companies like Avtivision. If they were to install a propper anti-cheat than it'll play just fine. Actually, the only reason it's not playing is because they put that stuff on their game and that's the only reason people like me haven't bought their game as they are making it non-accissable for me so good job Activision on keeping a potential buyer from buying your stuff.

      You are 100% right, In the case of Activision and Bungie, their anti-cheat COULD work on proton, but they are too lazy for compatibility, Call Of Duty and Destiny could EASILY run on Linux if they even cared

      A patching tool is desperately needed for this game on both PC and Steam Deck
      Windows 11 fixed run natively work fine. Only dual boot windows 11 two reason
      1. Care about Online auti cheats games.
      2. Care plan very old pc ports that workaround on linux very hard.

      There is even an anti-xheat compatibility Layer using Proton on Heroic Launcher 😂. But some games like COD MWII and Destiny 2 could detect it and ban you.

    • @S1RLANC3
      @S1RLANC3 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ucky9226 Exactly. The worst part about that too is that people even use the anti-cheat capability as a way of cheating themselves and the only thing people accomplish is letting some company access parts of your computer that they have no right accessing. I for one would only use the compatibility and would rather be banned then give them that kind of administrative access to my personal things.

    I've been running windows on deck for a while now I enjoy tinkering with the deck. I do play COD on deck just because I'm a workaholic and never have time to sit down but playing it on the go or on break is definitely why I got the deck. I also don't just play cod I use the steam deck like a computer I watch shows play other games and listen to music. But I definitely don't think windeck is for everyone. for the price and the freedom deck provides is ultimately why I got it

      I feel like the steam deck was built for people in situations like yours and I truly believe having windows gives the freedom to play/do whatever you want with your deck. Im glad its worked out for you!

    I have been dual booting on an sd card have little to no issues however i only play a few games on the sd card as i primarily play single player on the ssd in the deck i don't think i would recomend most people do this as load times for the operting system are slow and sluggish running it off of the sd card but if you want to dual boot while not making a partition on your ssd this is a great option because it saves more space on your steamdecks ssd and it is easier to format the sd card and use it for extra storage if you don't like the windows experience on the deck than to undo a partition

      Hi there,
      I’m considering dual boot my steam deck to have game pass games on it.
      Which tutorial did you follow to figure out this on your sdcard ?
      Do you have a good feed back about the experience ?
      Thank you so much, appreciate it

    I'm interested in nothing game related. Windows runs Autocad Inventor the best. I'm looking to take my game device to the next level and provide me a place to continue my 3d modeling hobby to generate printable items on the go.

    Hi there. this is a great explanation. I play a lot of Ubisoft titles. The games seem stupid prices on steam but they play junk via the unisoft launcher on deck. Do you think installing windows would be an advantage? Thanks

      If you see willing to put in a little bit of work to get it running smoothly, I think it would be a worthwhile endeavor for you, there are way more tools for optimization on windows than there is on linux. Hope this helps! I really appreciate the input!

    I want to play World of Warcraft and Call of Duty with my steam games. WHAT is the downside of dual booting? Doesnt it allow you to go back and forward between normal boot and windows boot?

    • @SchmutzProductions
      @SchmutzProductions  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      With the proper GUI setup (Check Deck Wizard on YT for a tutorial) you just switch between them on boot, super seamless and makes the dual boot alot prettier.

    So i cancelled my Xbox live/ game pass, but i have a lot of steam games. I play steam games on my desktop pc, if i dual boot windows on my deck, can i play COD WZ thru my steam games while booting on windows in my deck? (Like how i play cod on my desktop pc thru steam app)

    • @SchmutzProductions

      Yes you can! The anti cheat blocks steam os because it cant do the checks on linux that it does on windows. So if you boot it on windows it will work just fine!

    Sounds like the best thing is to have a Rog Ally since you can put steam on it also. Unless you just have to have the track pads which I never use on my deck.
