got this as a gift many years ago, just unboxed it at the time and never used it, today when I finally pulled it out and tried to connect to my computer there is no sound, so I searched and found this video, then I realised, you need to put battery in it!!!! Thanks for a such helpful review!....
I have these DRE BEATS STUDIO headphones in PURPLE, Which I LOVE to the Max; as I always wanted these - DRE Beats ROCKS!! but 3:14 They take triple AAA Batteries underneath the ear covers - some may find this a disadvantage; as you have to make sure that you carry spare batteries (if you are going out on a long journey)...DJ Soca Sam. *The cover where you replace the batteries are a little tricky to handle...and feels really Cheap. You have to able to actually obtain these headphones to see what I mean... I have some cheaper priced brand headphones and Panasonic one which feel much STRONGER!! They do not need batteries either.
I like them, because I heard they got some great quality into the headphones and I think they're awesome looking. I am getting them for Christmas and I hope they're worth my money :P
I got mine refurbished from the official monster website they were only $150 and i chose 1 day shipping total came to $168. It was a steal and the headphones look brand new and work GREAT.Just a suggestion if you guys dont wanna pay $300+ for these and you want AUTHENTIC ones. They also come with a 90 limited warranty when you buy them refurbished from the site.
no they are just shit. i also have an iphone 5s, overpriced as the beats. But if you buy an iphone you get an excellent product. if you buy overpriced beats you get 2$ china junk. I wouldnt buy it for 20$, they are really shit headphones to be honest. Every guy who wears these junk, i think myself: what a looser, waste his money, only to get more status.
no one said you aren´t allowed to buy beats. But don´t say People who hates beats just couldn´t afford them, because there are way better and cheaper Options.
Don't waste your cash. The super obvious thing that is being left out of the review is that everyone around can hear your music clear as day. Don't "be that guy" on the plane.
Teh1AnnOwnLeeByukk Problem with that is, you cant stop all those other things, you'll still get them on top of someone obnoxiously listening to his music way too loud.
The batteries last for ages? I've had my studios for months and the beats only gave me an orange light yesterday. I don't know why yours did that though?
these headphones do actually sound pretty amazing. and i know lots of people are saying that 'dont buy waste of money .. blah blah blah" but they are pretty good sounding and super comfortable. the only con is that the music leaks out so loudly!! so yeah.. but tbh, i think they are worth the money. and hey! to the haters out there, no judgement please. its my personal opinion! :3
I work in a factory doing 12 hour shifts and I like listening to music on shift to pass the time, could these be used as an alternative to safety headphones? As in, would the noise cancellation drown out surrounding factory sound?
I bought theses at a garage sale for $1 but green/white & wired, it was missing the battery cover and aux cord but I ordered the monster aux cord for 5.50 and battery cover for 6. 😎
Not useless at all. It makes them more useable in fact. The Beats Pro headphones can't be used to their fullest on your phone because the sound card in your phone isn't powerful enough to power them, but with the Studio, as long as you have batteries, you can get full power, meaning you get to hear all that audiophile goodness! It also powers the noise cancelation, making flights more enjoyable.
I've owned several dre beats: including in-ear, solo beats, and now the studio beats. Whoever tells you their cheaper headphones are better is just mad they can't afford these. These are by far the best headphones I've ever come across. Even so there are still several imperfections that you will need to learn to deal with if you buy these: ..to be continued.
Nice review keep it up You answered my questions but I have one more what do you think about studios vs beatsmixrs I'm about to buy one of them but I still don't know which one I shall choose
Studio? They are more high quality listening phones and not tuned for a 'flat response' sonically. The phones though good are 'treated' to enhance bass so really not a monitoring headphone trust me I'm a producer of music. One does not wish to use wireless phones while recording due to the most common problem of 'latency'.
Not professional headphones, absolute garbage. The only reason they are selling well is because society likes trendy products. I was given a pair for Christmas and put them on, used both wired and Bluetooth and the sound is horrible, tons of electronic mouse and hissing. The build quality is as cheap as a $20 pair of a generic headphones. Im sure they will fall apart within months. I read hundreds of reviews on the Internet, some people like them and some people hate them, it's a risk, a $400 risk. I'm a sound audiophile guy, for the cost of a pair of Beats there are way better headphones you can buy. I have a pair of Bose I bought 9 years ago, they are well used and still sound better and are more comfortable than Beats. Buy Bose, you might not look as cool but your ears will thank you.
I have had the solo HD for 4 years and they are still like new I also have the studios for the last 3 years also still like new and I bought the pro about 6 months ago also still like new and the quality of sound is pure taste for example I really don't like the sound of bose but it's purely personal
Far out! I’ve had my studio 1 headphones for about 5 years now and I hadn’t realised until now that they have a mute button, are you kidding 😂😂🙆♂️ that’s crazy I’ve never worked that out lol ..and still going strong and not a single wear and tear in them, solid headphone if you ask me, I’ve never had a problem with them at all, people watching this vid now you can pick these up for about $130 Aus dollars sooooo cheap, cheers! 👍 the only reason I’d upgrade would be for wireless..
I didn't say the Beats had leather, if you are able to read my comment. I said most headphone's construction comes from a thin metal strip surrounded in leather, or the metal strip surrounded in plastic (the Beats). And yes, the plastic is very flexible and durable, I have dropped a pair of my friend's before (I do not own them) and he has bended and stretched them far out, and they held up just fine.
Thanks for the review. While my dad left us 3 pairs of these after he died, I was able to tell from your honest review that they were knock-offs. shoot, i can't even get the battery part to open. Maybe if I ever do, I will give em a whirl, cause really, I don't need them. Thanks, years later. Meg
Beats studio are for all genres of music not just for ghetto rap music. The headphones are for dance music, trance music, opera music, tv theme tunes, movie soundtracks and ethnic music such as Bollywood Asian music.
im really sick of all the audiophiles go hate somewhere else. only you can tell the difference. beats are great for the everyday listener who want something better than the standard skyllcandies or apples.
I just got these and I love almost everything about them... I'm not loving that when you're listening music a bit loud the sound comes out so everyone around you can hear them... I wanna keep them but Idk...
I think it depends on what is "to loud". From a phone, most likely not, but from a computer there's a chance. I think the warranty covers that anyways.
I just got these for my birthday and I must say..The sound is great but sadly they hurt my head like crazy. I got the mixr ones and lord they are so tight on my head it's ridiculous. Thinking of returning them..Not worth the 300$.
the solo headphones scratch easier (the solo hd don't). but the difference is that there's "noise-cancelling" and that they're over ear. how ever the solo/solo hd are more smaller and comfortable. also the head adjusting piece has plastic bridges which prevents it from breaking easily. in my opinion, keep your solos because the noise cancelling is not worth it on the studios
I have owned the Beats (red) head phones for 2 years now. First of all I am not a Dr. Dre fan (is he a brain surgeon?)Nor am I a rap fan. My musical tastes range from rock beatles to present, to new wave, dance, electro polka or anythign with a beat. This is the first pair of headphones I have owned that work excellent with the ipod touch. These phones boom with the ipod (or any mp3player). Very loud which is what I like. The only downside is that I have to recharge the batteries. (2 AAA).
Not a opinion it's a fact that beats frequency response is 20hz-20,000hz. And it's a fact that a $200 pair of competition studio monitoring headphones is 5hz-35,000hz. It's a fact that's beats cost $14 to make and the margin is mostly profit meaning your money goes to advertisements to get other people to fall for the same trick you did. Only $14 of your money is to buy that product. And it's also a fact that the man himself dr.dre uses audio technica athm50s in the studio. He wears beats in public for sales and that's it. It's a fact that these headphones ohm load is to high for studio use. It's a fact that your a beats fanboy and you just got destroyed my specs.
I'm going to get a pair of these but I want to know how great Is the quality of these headphones. I listen to music almost everyday and I want to have better quality when I listen to music. And would these sound great with the song " I Don't Like " ? Nice review and can you please answer, thanks.
I thought of playing Dr. Dre's the Cronic with those Headphones while writting Rhymes but since Guru is dead (1961-2010), I'm a play the whole Moment of Truth Album or Hard To Earn (if I get it) in his honor.
@@cameronabbott8245 no clue about that but they do have studio written on the outside in place of the monster logo. Either way thanks for the starting point
The beats are good there's no debate about that, the quality is of the best you can get and the balance doesn't cut out the mids and highs like some have said. They however are completely over priced and you're definitely paying as much for the name as you are for the headphones. The noise cancelling feature is amazing, but the leakage is a real big issue, and actually means you cant use them in quiet public places. I use mine for production, so I don't have this issue. Also they look great.
@NintendOttawa Fair enough. I'm not a fan of the Studios' brittle, glossy, fingerprint-magnet plastic but people seem to like it. I would prefer the look of the AKG Q701 myself as they also have a better build quality. The Shure SRH940's are also nice-looking IMO. I would buy headphones with good sound quality over looks any day of the week because I, quite frankly, don't care what other people think of me; I buy headphones to listen to and I expect what I pay for
I’m not making anything up right here. It’s a fact: you can get much better sounding headphones that are clearer in the highs and lows and have much tighter bass response than these for less. And I see numerous people all the time complaining about the build quality of these. OK look, If you really like these overpriced, plastic headphones than that’s just fine ok? Thats your opinion and I would of respected that except one thing.
"people just say beats suck because they want to sound cool or like they know everything" No, it's because anyone who knows anything about audio knows that these headphones are not in the same league as similarly priced headphones. Sure they sound okay for a $100 headphone, but at $399, there are MUCH better out there and they are in fact professional products and not just a consumer line product that says its ‘professional’ or ‘studio’.
you can buy little bluetooth devices that are about an inch but an inch that you can tape to your headphones and they will wirelessly connect to your iPod or whatever through bluetooth
i recently bought these. The packaging and product quality is absolutely perfect although the headphone feels a bit cheap. The headphones sound alright, especially the bass that blows your mind away. I compared these with my klipsch s4's and i got to say the klipsch sound better.
@young360waver It's on the monster outlet website just google it and it should pop up. It's not exactly the same because it does not come in it's original box, but it comes with everything else.
