    Good day..
    I am writing a letter In behalf of someone, he is having a an issue in regards to his medical degree for the processing of MRCS.However, he paid already the amount of the examination fee. He already went to British council in Khobar Saudi Arabia and found out that he’s medical degree has having an issue but prior to that , the British council accpeted it before the deadline. In regards to this matter, he has given a time frame to fix the issue until June 17 this year. In addition to that, it takes long time to process due to the inconvenience aside from the work and he can’t be able to go back to Egypt right away. The money is a hard to earn and time consume in the processing for the exam is not that easy. The English version of medical degree information was mistaken and and the exam has been confirmed. I would like to find out if there is a refund for that or the rescheduling of the exam is a way better. Morever if there is other alternative options. Thank you for hearing me out.

We are confused what pathway to choose, 1.MRCS -> GMC-> Applying directly for NHS registrar jobs (or SHO? Is it possible to get registrarship directly?)
    2. Mch in Otorhinolaryngology at Edge hill and completing MRCS (I am hoping for her to atleast get the Part A done before the course starts) concurrently.
    Also, can the process of reaching the ST-7/8 (Consultant) be expedited? Or mandatory 5-6 Years of surgical medical training needs to be done before writing the FRCS exam?

    • @lavnya70
      @lavnya70  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      After GMC registration, Most IMGs apply for a non-training post for 6-12 months before entering specialty training. This will give you NHS experience before entering a training programme. After that, apply for ST3 neurosurgery. You don't need to do FY1 and FY2, but I would suggest that you do a trust grade non-training post prior to applying for specialty training.

      To enter specialty training (run-through and non-run-through) you need to complete FY2 or equivalent.
      The foundation training is the same for all specialties.
      Not all specialties have run-through pathways. So it depends on the specialty you want to pursue. For specialties that offer both, it would be best to take the run-through route as you only need to apply once.
