It would be strange why we have stories of necrons attacking humans when the Tyranid threat is the only one annoying the Necrons, who only stop sleeping, so they can play as the most feared race in the galaxy.
Humanity has a bad habit of expanding to and colonizing sleeping tomb worlds. The necrons are boomers who wake up after 60 million years to find a bunch of kids on their lawn

One thing about the common warriors; They are deemed as "expendable" yes, but only when their uplink to their refineries are intact. For example in the silent king, when trazyn and orikan are fighting in the cave, the uplink is severed due to them fighting inside the core of the world, and thus any warrior killed there will never "reincarnate". Many c'tan indulged in cannibalism, gaining their power and the aspect of the universe they represented. The reason so few were left by the end of the War in Heaven is because those that remained consumed so many of their peers. It's part of why the aeldari couldn't destroy the void dragon, and why The Outsider went insane.
For those confused with the position of praetorians, since they can virtually do whatever they want outside their main responsabilities and override an overlord, is that historically they were not members of royalty, just direct servants of the silent king. So by tradition, they cannot be considered royalty, but since their role is so critical in ensuring the preservation of their culture and making sure the programming of each dynasty is not dysfunctional enough to outright betray the king, they have a lot of defacto authority.

Nope, they're entirely different entities and types of creature. The Chaos God's are entities of warp energy formed by synchronised warp energy on a massive scale, akin to a sentient singularity in the warp. The C'tan are originally just a type of regular xenos that "ascended" to an alternate form of "Godhood" through the sheer amount of energy they contain. Originally a wandering gas cloud with the relative absorption power of a Dyson sphere equivalent, the neurons decided to harness this as a weapon and they went rogue, and we all know how that went.
