Cat C has become even more brutal and stretched out since Zwift started messing with the ZMAP and ZFTP in categorisation. I've been hanging around what i thought was the top end of Cat C for a while, but more often recently getting my legs ripped off by downgraded B's (looking at their Zwiftpower). By all means give a few C races a look, but you'll always be a Cat B or above in our hearts! Wishing you a strong recovery Jake!
Thanks Jason for your kind words - much appreciated, is as your support over the last couple of years 👊👍 The same thing happened in Cat B with the As dropping down also, I’m not sure if I prefer it this way - I think really the categories should be split even more and B is too big really with too big a range. I’ve done a C race to compare and may do one or two more but I think I’ll be upgraded before too long and back to B! Thanks again 👍
Great race mate! Really enjoyed that one, it was like watching the great Jake Sanderson of old! You did well to win that, Dr Cox was really making it interesting but your race craft proved too much for everyone! I’d love to see you in C, even if it’s just for you to compare the two categories, plus we can race together now! Good work mate 👍🏻
Thanks mate much appreciated as always - I’ve been told that Jez Cox could in fact be Jez Cox Eurosport commentator which would be pretty crazy and cool if true! (I doubt it though 😂) - looking forward to come and working for you in a race very soon my friend 👊👍💪
Cheers Roy mate - I ended up doing a C race on Friday that was harder than the B race! 😂 thanks as always for the comment and support, much appreciated 👊👍💪
Check out some of my other videos I have raced in A, B and C and won B races with 70 riders and an average of 3.1-3,5wkg average- it’s actually easier to keep up in bigger field races as there is more draft, in shorter field races you have to match the power of other riders more
Can actually happen if you improve your short power figures vs your long ones. Can't explain why. Was discussed a year ago and someone even made a formula/spreadsheet for it. Can't remember now who made it tho
Thanks Rep! Seems to be that your short term or zmap can lower your power curve for your zftp which then effectively lowers what Zwift thinks you can do for longer periods. I get it to a degree because short term power takes a lot of energy so if you’re doing that you probably can’t do a longer sustained effort but it seems a bit counter intuitive! Thanks as always for the comment and support, much appreciated 👊👍💪
Great racing. You wouldn't be the only B sprinter in B. Pick a race with Mr Twigt or the Toothcyclist and see how you get on. Interesting times. I think you'll easy take care of me. 😀💪🥇
Cheers Lachie mate - I know Peter Twigt but not Toothcyclist so I will take a look! I don’t think I’ll be in C for too long but I did a race on Friday and it was harder than in B! Not sure about that, you’re a very strong C. Maybe catch you in a race before too long! 👊👍💪
Jez Cox? the presenter blokey? or am I being daft... Anyway - bravo for the win...and getting your 30 day ranking back online. Hooray... now time for some ladder action.

Great race and win. I think it shows how badly the cat limits work now in Zwift.
Thanks mate. Yeah there’s definitely room for improvement on the category front. 20min power is a crazy metric to use. Thanks again for the comment!
Race in C, World domination!!

Great job but yes definitely a slow cat B race. In a more popular race would definitely have to do 3.7-3.9 watts per kilo to keep up

Zwifty Zwifter had a look at it.

You never know…maybe I’ll get a shout out on Eurosport
Don’t get sick. But race in C and smash it 👍🏼 . Only as I’m not quite there yet 😂
Haha thanks mate, appreciate it - I’ve only just twigged you’ve got a channel as well so I’ve just subbed and will have a look this evening!! 👊👍💪
