If you have headphones, you can hear James' build up and F# in the left channel at 7:04, lol

He didn’t leave he got fired

@@Mikeyriffs pretty sure he did just leave, and it was quite acrimonious behind the scenes, with Mike being his usual "let's burn this bridge" self

@@n-Chantreuse oh I thought he got fired for jordan

@@Mikeyriffs Jordan wasn't even in the picture at that point, as the band took in Derek Sherinian for a couple of albums.
Kevin was starting to go a more alternative route than progressive one, and it was causing a rift. He'd get called back to prog every now and again by Fates Warning's members, but I don't think it was really his thing

The pad in the verse is probably the same one he used in Eve. Probably also that JD-800. Although I have no idea what he used for strings. Those sound way to good to be JD-800 strings.

The strings are from the Roland D70 :)

at one point after james's really high bit i thought i heard a mellotron but the rest was definitely a synth

The JD-800 wasn't released when they recorded this album. His synth leads where from a Korg DW-8000

@@davcar23 The jd800 already existed back then, in fact there are videos of Kevin using it in the studio

penso che queste siano tracce originali e che non si tratti di materiale isolato brano; parti troppo perfette
