I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis when I was 12 years old. When it was first was inflamed I had quite a bit of blood in the stool. It has been in remission for 26 years.

The falling issue: When a person is falling never try to catch them because the risk of injuring yourself is very high. The best thing to do is trying to stand in way the person is falling and letting them slide down your body/legs BTW love your reactions
That last clip was from an episode where House was giving a lecture in a classroom. He took three cases he'd seen himself a long time ago (not cases from past episodes) and gave a lecture on them. The only symptom all three cases had was leg pain, but all three causes were different. Every now and then, he would ask the students he was lecturing what they think happened or what they think should be done. The clip you saw was a visual representation of one of those questions. They weren't actually in the room with the patient right then.
House is my favorite series! Parents used to watch it when I was younger, I would wake up and they would be on the couch. I never understood why they liked it, but having rewatched it? It is really good, not to mention I learned more things about medical practices from when I was younger. Anyways keep up the great work and education Dr. Wagner!
I still remember the episode where he performs the cricothyrotomy on that inmate when he was in prison. My mom loved this show, now I love it too a good 15 years later.
Fun fact: the last patient, House was giving a lecture to med students and telling them about previous cases and having them diagnose the patients and figure out how to help them. And that guy was actually House himself, that episode explains how his leg got messed up.

I’ve actually seen a guy break his arm pitching a ball, and let me tell you that is top 10 craziest things I ever saw… medically related anything else wise I’ve seen some freaky stuff. I even saw a guy snap his legs like twigs somehow. It’s freaky what you can do to yourself on accident.

The only doctor who has listened to my heart in the last 20 years was the cardiologist I saw about 3 years ago. None of them ever do what doctors always used to do: listen to your heart, check your pulse, look in your eyes and ears. They never seem to touch you AT ALL. I have no idea what the hell happened in general medicine over the last couple of decades, but none of them seem remotely interested in doing anything other than asking some questions and then fobbing you off to someone else.

No substance is inherently good or bad, there's just pros and cons that have to be weighed by medical professionals. Deadly poison or health medication or party buzz... it's all just a matter of dose. Even nitroglycerin is an explosive (in ounces) as well as a common heart medication (in milligrams), and there are many crazy examples like that.
Yeah, it's the dosage that matters. Back when couch tables usually had an ash tray on them, there were often acute fatal ODs of nicotine. How? Those tables are just the right height for toddlers to pull themselves up when they can barely stand. And then they put those weird thingies in their mouths and suck on them, just like Mommy and Daddy always did. The lethal dose for that body weight? Just a few cigarette butts!
I had a member at my gym fall when stepping off a treadmill. He was just above 300 pounds. I'm only 170 and it took all I had to get him back on his feet. I can't imagine what it would be like with someone 600 pounds.
If a patient is clearly overweight for an MRI wouldn't doctors just look for an alternative diagnostic? Sure you might successfully scan the person but if the machine breaks, how many people will then go without and is the cost worth it?
House usually doesn't care. He broke the MRI at one point by doing one on a corpse with a bullet in the head and didn't care it broke because he didn't need it

When they gave me opiates in the hospital for pancreatitis Morphine- no effect even after they gave me the maximum dose Dilaudid- near instant effect. Before they even finished injecting it everything got sparkly and fuzzy and all pain was gone...for about 45 minutes then it wore off really fast. It was the smallest dose they give too. Now though because I have a history of drug abuse (cannabis and alcohol) they won't give me Dilaudid and just keep giving me more morphine even past the maximum dose. Question. Do they even have other pain meds to give patients? Because they won't give me Dilaudid and they keep saying its more morphine or nothing even though I say I'm immune to morphine it does nothing. I mean even ibuprofen and Tylenol do more than morphine. Is that normal?

Going to Wikipedia on the page describing this condition, I saw there an X-ray of the head with clearly visible cysts, I wonder how this happened? :)
I don't get it, if a patient can refuse care even if it meant death very soon, why are suicidal mental patients locked into a mental facility and forced into treatment until they're deemed non-suicidal?

Otra cosa que no toman en cuenta es que todos somos diferentes todavía recuerdo que a mí hermano le recetaron unas pastilla para dormir y por loco que parezca se empezó a hacer inmune a ella cada vez había que cambiar el medicamento y un día yo no podía dormir y tome una cuando el tomaba 2 o más y a mí me bloqueó por 2 día y cuan me levanté apenas y podía caminar me arrastraba y me sentía fatal no podía pesar no podía comer apenas podía beber a agua y mi hermano resistía 2 de esas cosas a penas dormía 9 horas, no puedo dejar de recordar que esas pastillas no me ayudaron a descansar literalmente eran una tortura.

I don't get it, if a patient can refuse care even if it meant death very soon, why are suicidal mental patients locked into a mental facility and forced into treatment until they're deemed non-suicidal?
Someone who is proven mentally not sane, can't consent, you have to ask the nearest kin in that case
@Pyroblaze212 being suicidal is not the same as insanity tho. suicidal people are still sane
@@elfametesar you said a suicidal mental patient.... Depends on the situation, suicidal people can be of many types, not every suicidal is mentally ill
@@Pyroblaze212 that was an error on my part, i meant to say suicidal people. suicidal people are locked up to prevent self harm when they admit to wanting to die, but when it's a non-psychiatric issue, you're allowed to refuse treatment and choose death.
Otra cosa que no toman en cuenta es que todos somos diferentes todavía recuerdo que a mí hermano le recetaron unas pastilla para dormir y por loco que parezca se empezó a hacer inmune a ella cada vez había que cambiar el medicamento y un día yo no podía dormir y tome una cuando el tomaba 2 o más y a mí me bloqueó por 2 día y cuan me levanté apenas y podía caminar me arrastraba y me sentía fatal no podía pesar no podía comer apenas podía beber a agua y mi hermano resistía 2 de esas cosas a penas dormía 9 horas, no puedo dejar de recordar que esas pastillas no me ayudaron a descansar literalmente eran una tortura.
