    Thanks so much. Pretty much everything here also applies to us folks who deal with ordinary depression and anxiety as well.

    Good content. The only thing that really annoys me is that she keeps referring to ACT as the individual letters - i.e. A C T - and not using the correct term of ACT as per the originators of the methodology. IF people are learning from the start, let them begin with the proper naming convention - e.g. the verb of ACT

    Please provide a few thoughts on how to deal with problems that have been viewed as a scientist. I’ve been diagnosed with two disease that are objectively awful. I am working with 5 specialists. It turns out I was born with both of these diseases. One of the disease is one of the leaders in death.
    Hopefully there is an approach in ACT that addresses information is not distorted. It is often essential to live Now as much as possible because projecting into the future even a few hours suck... it turns out that lungs send messages to hypothalamus/ amygdala. Thousands a second... By the time the frontal cortex is able to process reality more messages are flooding in... it’s like a network storm during denial of service attacks.
    Reality is not great... but it’s imperative I accept the my situation... and figure out how to move on. It’s possible that life is workable... and it would be stupid to have a negative approach. THANKS

      It's a matter of staying grounded in the present moment and realising this very moment has nothing to do with your past. Go beyond the 'known', coz life means nothing until you give it meaning.. Since there's always a positive option- you could light a match in a dark place and see what lies beyond what you've been 'conditioned' to think/percieve, and realise there's different reality .. thougnts are nothing but a concept. Soz about the novel, not an easy subject to explain ^_^

    "Defusion" not Diffusion

    • @DocSnipes
      @DocSnipes  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Either one is appropriate since to diffuse is to make less intense; weaken; widely spread or reduce concentration
