Because we're idiots, we figured it was time to watch all three Carnosaur movies in one day. Even though one of first episodes of SBIG was on Carnosaur, I remembered basically nothing about it. The story is convoluted hilarity. Carnosaur 2 is Aliens, but with dinosaurs. And Carnosaur 3 is... something.

Carnosaur is based on a 1984 novel by the Australian author John Brosnan. Corman acquired the rights to the novel in 1991 and the movie went into production two years later to capitalize on the upcoming release of Jurassic Park (Carnosaur was actually released before Jurassic Park).
Corman also hammed up the promotion of it, claiming that it was far better than anything Spielberg could produce in Jurassic Park.
Y'all should watch Clint Howard accept his "lifetime achievement" award on MTV movie awards. Originally I think it was meant to be sort of like a Razzi, like a comical type thing, but Clint was so thankful for getting recognized for his character roles that he put a lot into his speech, and it turned into a meaningful experience for the evening. I think that was when they decided to do the lifetime achievements for real because of how great his went.
Went and watched since you mentioned. You can see everyone start to realise midway through they were looking like assholes and the tone really shifted.
@LoveProWrestling oh yeah, 🤣, Clint turned that whole section of the show into something prestigious, and it was brilliant. He has an interview where he explains all of that and how he had thought about it the night before and even though he knew how it was supposed to be taken, he still felt so grateful. Like, *BOOM* that's a deep thought 😆. He genuinely loves what he does, loves all of his fans, and is appreciative of all that he gets. I want to be that appreciative of things and people 😆. He's a damn role model lol.
I remember watching that, and the tone shifted PALPABLY in the audience. It was incredible.
Roger Corman one day said "I have Jurassic Park at home". And this saga is the result.
The man is a legend for a reason.

This unlocked a repressed childhood memory. SyFy in the 2000s had no limit on the grotesque, weird, dumb, and entertaining. Pinata Survival Island was another trip.
That, Mansquito, Chupacabra (feat. a pre-Gus Fring Giancarlo Esposito), and Alien Siege (with the late Carl Weathers) were staples of my middle school lazy Sunday afternoon background noise at home.
Roger Corman may not be the best at making movies, but theres something most people dont know about him. Roger uses ALL proceeds from ANY film he makes to go towards impoverished children that live at the center of the Emrald Triangle. Hes a man with a mission and i truly appreciate the help that this man has handed to those in less fortunate situations!
Many careers were started with him too so a LOT of people in the business owe their start to him.
RIP Roggo. I did get to meet him once. He had an idea...and kept pounding away at it. It kept a lot of people eating and living. Not too shabby at all, Roggie C's.

I saw Carnosaur 2 at my grandparents house when I was about 10. Poor grandma rented it for my sister and I while we were sleeping over. She thought it was going to be like Jurassic Park. It was not.
I love these marathons that you do! I remember seeing these movies in the video section of our local grocery store back in the 90's. I was never allowed to get any of them. 😂

While Diane Ladd appears in this movie, her daughter, Laura Dern appeared in another dinosaur film, Jurassic Park (1993). Ladd admitted she didn't think the script was very good and initially turned it down, until her old friend Roger Corman sent her a check with enough zeroes on it. Clint Howard's niece, Bryce Dallas Howard later starred in one of the Jurassic Park sequel, Jurassic World (2015).
Its terrible that Diane Ladd was stuck doing this, it was just a few years after giving an incredible performance in Wild at Heart (also starring Laure Dern).

Also, Roger Corman really did make movies in nearly every genre. Swords and Sorcery (Barbarian Queen et al.), Sci Fi (Galaxy of terror), Superheroes (Fantastic Four) and even the dinosaur attack genre! He kept himself busy.

@ yes, absolutely. Especially when they’re (loose) novel adaptations. I’ve also seen the ballistic plate you made too, as a fan your effort is amazing next level conduct. Adventure fiction, Amazon exploitation, literature adaptation B- movies, pulp fiction, Zëiram, OVAs, Kevin Conner, Jesús Franco and drawing it is my thing.
I just watched Carnosaur 2 (free on TH-cam) and it was really good. The acting was surprisingly well done and I was genuinely entertained. Worth a watch for sure.
You guys should marathon all the 'Kickboxer' sequels, including the two reboot movies that were released a few years ago.

As dumb fun as it is now, Carnosaur was one of the few childhood movies I remember giving me the jeebies. Clint’s head being bitten off, the bleak ending and how dark it all was, especially when I must’ve been 6 or 7 years old watching it. Best dad ever 😂

- In #3 the annoying guy is being played by the same actor doing "Bill Paxton" in #2
- The Helicopter pilot in #2 is also in #3 as a cop and he was in Mad TV.
- The chief scientist in #1 was played by Diane Ladd, Laura Dern's mom, who played in Jurassic Park

The cop who said “why me?” Is the pilot in the second movie. He was also the security guard that got run over by the steamroller in Austin powers. And he may have been on MadTV too
Saw the first one when I was a kid; I never realized it was Roger Corman, lmao, so awesome. Life truly is a full circle... excited for every episode, but extra for this one!

@JasonBrant This was a lot like Guyver 2 for me... Something we would have on in the background, at a sleepover, that was awesome to look at from time.
We would have B movies on in the background while we played SNES.
For the record, the first Guyver movie is unwatchable.
My favorite parts of every video Jason edits is his little digs and callouts like the “nucular” and on the old ones zooming in when Dave is heading the dog on his lap. It’s just so awesome. Nice job, Jason.
The first 3 are actually all connected. 2 had eggs from the first, and in 3, the scientist woman (forgot her name) directly mentions the events of the first. It's kind of impressive they bothered to keep continuity when they could have easily made stand-alones.
Cool fact? Clint Howard appeared in several episodes of Andy Griffith as a toddler. He played the character "Leon", who always offered the townsfolk a bite of his PBJ sandwich
After watching this hilarious reaction i went & brought these movies.
This was top tier SBIG & provided 90 minutes of top notch roasting of bad movies.
I can't thank you enough for doing all 3 of these movies.
Carnosaur 2: Alien meets Jurassic Park with a budget less than the catering cost of either movie. Bless Roger Corman!

Saw the first one when I was a kid. Fond memory with dad, who recently passed and my sister. The funniest shit ever to us at the time.
The “sarge” 1:06:50 is Scott Valentine. He was Mallory’s boyfriend on Family Ties, had his own movie “My Demon Lover” and did all schlock… including the Black Scorpion series.
I could've watched these Carnosaur flicks on cable back in the day, though I wasn't a big Corman fan then. I love Dave's comments and the movie quotes, but you really need the whole cast of characters for an epic SBIG marathon. Carter Burke is the name you were looking for from Aliens.
It's a shame Brian wasn't around to appreciate the glorious edge lighting in this trilogy

The "Carnosaur in the Jeep" scene is way more evocative of Zombi 4: Killing Birds than Jurassic Park.

The taller cop at the beginning of 3 is the guy who was on Fridays and played Stewart. "Look what I can do!"
Michael McDonald ( who was also a helicopter crew member in 2 ) played Stewart on MADtv with a variety of other hilarious characters, Michael Richards who played Seinfeld's neighbor Kramer was on Fridays.
The Carnosaur screech just scared the shit out of our cat! 😂

36:57 Louis Morneau the director of Carnosaur 2 makes solid B-movies,; “Bats” (1999) starring Lou Diamond Phillips is up SBIG’s alley, you guys should check it out.
Morneau also directed “Retroactive” starring Jim Belushi which I enjoyed a lot, but he also made two direct-to-video sequels: The Hitcher II: I’ve Been Waiting and Joy Ride 2: Dead Ahead. Dude seems to have a thing for desert-set horror thrillers…

Third movie is horrible. The main military guy is Scott Valentine from Family Ties after it jumped the shark. The cop that didn't want to go upstairs is Mike McDonald from Mad Tv. The hot blonde is Janet Gunn from a really bad Tv show called Silk Stalkings. Great episode guys and all three movies are S. B. I. G. Great humor Jason and Dave.
The Carnosaur series is one of my favorite trash cinema guilty pleasures of all time. Carnosaur 1 traumatized me as a kid. Carnosaur 2, being a xerox copy of Aliens, is pure gold. Carnosaur 3 is dog water.

Second movie starred John Savage, guy with the beard was in a little movie you should know called The Deer Hunter. Also the head military guy is Don Stroud from literally every 70's and 80's tv show.
I think the hero of the first one is Raphael S'barge and for the nerdier set amongst your subscriber base he's probably most fondly remembered as the voice of Carth from Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Scorch from Star Wars: Republic Commando. Mostly he usually plays a bad guy character actor when he's on screen after this movie.
Oh, man, I was looking for a Mass Effect/Kaidan Alenko comment, but yeah, you're right - he's Carth Onasi as well. I love his voice! Too bad his characters were mostly pretty boring. Scorch is badass, though!
Just going by the most memorable lines in "Aliens", Bill Paxton was kind of the star in the movie.

God damn this is great. I’ve always loved the Carnosaur movies, there’s a book that just came out recently actually that’s all about the making of the movies and behind the scenes stories and such. Fantastic read if that’s your thing. For a future marathon video you guys should do all the ‘Watchers’ movies. Also Roger Corman I believe, based off a Dean Koontz novel. There were 4 of them, with Corey Haim and Michael Ironside in the first, Marc Singer in the second, Wings Hauser in the third (which was a Predator ripoff), and Mark Hamill in the 4th.
