Trust me it’s not fun for us either. Obviously I like making it to the second round every year but playing the kings every year in round 1 is just no fun anymore. If we seriously get it again for the 4th straight year I will just be sick of it. I wanna face someone different and I want the kings to have another team as well to shake it up. If we meet in round 2 or 3 that would at least be something a little different
My Devils fan panic meter level is represented by Robert DeNiro smoking a cigar and laughing in the movie theater in Cape Fear (the laughing is at the New York teams panicking)
Well there was some panic in November as they were about to torch another season. I'm waiting to see how they'll fare on this road trip before thinking they belong on the first row. If they come out 13 out of 18 points, I'll be optimistic. Only one game played and they got 2 points! 11 more and we'll be golden. More than 13, we might actually really believe a playoff spot is assured.
@@DBeau73 The only thing I know for sure about Ottawa is that no one should bet on their games, ever. Their opponent is irrelevant. Whether you get the Jeckyl or the Hyde version is literally a coin toss.
As a Toronto fan, I think a good rule of thumb is to look at their performance and figure out where the fan base SHOULD be, then put us one level lower.
Well considering most Toronto fans plan the Stanley Cup parade in September and they are still on that high till the Leafs lose in the first round, pretty hard to base it on their fans. He'd have to invent a category for Toronto and Montreal where the fans started the planning the Stanley Cup parade before the season started. And yes, the fans are that insane thinking it's their god given rights because they won so many cups when there was only 6 teams in the league.
This Jets fan, I'm only speaking for myself here, is sitting in the top row. They were projected to miss the playoffs, being bumped by Utah. Shannon had them at 8, prior to the season. Sitting in 1st this morning. Couldn't be more pleased. I guess Shannon pegged how I feel. I sure hope I feel this way next Wednesday.
Sabres fan. Last night should be ground zero and they literally just burn it down and today is day 1. Set attainable, small goals and take them out for ice cream when they meet those goals……
NY state is experiencing all the negative parts of the index. Team that should be good being bad, team treading water in mediocrity, and team so bad its not even fun anymore
The Bills? Pretty sad when your satisfaction lies with a franchise that has not been to a Super Bowl in over 30 years and is 0-4 in Super Bowls all-time. And where a majority of your fans actually live in Arizona, North Carolina, Florida and other destinations well south of Buffalo.
LOVE how so many experts had Nashville winning the Stanley cup at the beginning of the Season and Most likely NYR would be their opponent or at LEAST being one of the few in that spot. Washington and my Jets expected to struggle, etc. Theory to Reality sure can look a lot different. I still see Nashville making their way up the ladder. Just the question is, will they get it together soon enough or will it be too little too late for them. Very accurate Shannon.
With the jets, I think they’re really struggling because of Dillon Samberg being out. Missing him has really highlighted how poor our defensive depth really is. If they pick up another solid D man to play behind Morrissey, I think they’ll find much more success in the playoffs.
Boston’s in the right spot. If they get one point in Thursday’s game with Edmonton, they’ll have 5 of 10 available points on the Western road trip which I’d consider as a success.
Especially since the wins before the road trip come against some bottom feeders. The road trip was definitely going to be a test and they should be pleased with 5 of 10
Good job, Shannon. I can agree with most of this aside from maybe moving a couple of teams from the top row down one row but no more. Are you going to be making a video on the upcoming World Juniors?
I think the let it burn category is a hilarious. But coming from a Ranger fan, I think we belong in a new category with some character crying, because I'm just sad lol. Hope is not lost though! And I'm not pissed or giving up on the team, just hope that things get better. I also agree that it seems like Drury might be upsetting some people. If he were gone, I wonder how the players would feel.
Concerns in St. Louis when nothing much was expected of them? The Blues level of play is on the players themselves. But to say there is concern even after getting Monty is a little out there. We’ve had a pretty tough schedule since having him. And we beat Vancouver, Calgary, and the Jets. And the Devils last night were just a way better team than us. Everyone can see it. But I don’t think there’s much concern overall. I would actually say there’s more happy than concern right now. Now that’s just coming from the fans perspective. From the teams point of view who knows? From Army’s point of view who knows as well.
MN fans are flying high right now. Injuries in numbers, sure. But this season almost everyone had us as a bubble team, we're competing for 1st in the league. Last year of 15m dead cap. No season ending injuries, no signs of crashing out. On top of that, Kaprizov could bring home the Hart, Richard, and Art Ross. Gustavsson could win the Vezina. Hynes could win the Jack Adams.
As a Wild fan, not sure why we don't belong in that top row. Is there ANYONE who thought we'd be in 2nd in the West this deep into the season? The fact that we lost this week to Edmonton (I will admit it was a bad loss) shouldn't bring down the whole season.
It's not the goaltending with Colorado. It's the refusal to change the way we play. Teams figured us out last year and we've been struggling since. Lazy play also has been a contributing factor.
As a Lightning fan I'm very happy. Best offense in NHL, top10 defense in NHL, top3 PP, Kucherov is 1st in Points per game, Point is going for Rocket Richard, Guentzel on a 7-goal streak, scoring depth is getting better, Vasy is very good. I'm soo happy.
As a Dallas fan I have to disagree about them. Yeah they have a winning record and they'll probably make the playoffs but every game is a coin flip are we going to play good or are we going to lose it. If we stay good enough to hit the playoffs are we actually going to be contender or did we manage to just coinflip our way into it. We lost 4212 the predators and then we handed the capitals a complete butt kicking. Panic may not be the best word but it's definitely aggravating.
No panic in CBJ. The team is trending in the right direction overall. The above 500 record that we briefly had made this season an improvement already. There are good signs in the right direction with KJ's improvement, Monahan's good play, Zach's numbers have been great, etc. We likely won't be a playoff team again until the goals against improves. Until then we continue to improve step at a time.
Isles in let it burn or the phone. We knew this team can’t score and wasn’t any good. A rebuild would really help. I hope they go on this route instead of thinking there is something to salvage 😅
Yeah we're still chilling in Washington. But it brings me comfort knowing it's all Shannon's fault because he made that video praising their success 😁. Love you, Hockey Guy!
Buffalo's lease runs out in 2025... new roof, new jumbotron, under the cap yet again- to me it looks like Terry is looking to cash out. Team was bought for 189m, is now worth 1.1B, he loves the Bills(me too), but this tire fire is too much to handle
The Sabres are only worth what someone’s willing to pay and no more. Estimated $$ from online sources are meaningless. OTT. Sold for $1 billion….CDN. …About $650 million in real money.
The Blue Jackets are a curious team. Not because I think they can make a legitimate run at a wildcard spot, but about where I expected them to be, yet have played themselves out of a handful of victories.
I think you have the Canucks precisely where they should be. The Canucks don't have any panic. They are basically a point or two back of the three teams ahead of them with a game in hand, only four points off their pace from last year, AND they are just finally getting everyone healthy (except for Hronek who is still out). Last year, the team was riding an astonishing shooting percentage. This year, the team is showing that they can win in other ways- case in point: they have the same number of losses over 30 games as they had last year.
Pens are definitely trending up but i think they're pretty fragile in terms of being able to avoid catastrophic losing streaks. I think we'll probably see at least two more horrific 5 game stretches that will keep them out of the post season.
Tampa's 4th best goal scorer as it sits right now is Kucherov with 14 goals he's on pace for 38 at season's end, He follows Hagel who's projected goals are 40, who follows Guentzel who's projected goals are 50, who in turn follows Point who's projected goals are 59.
Penguins are at the point where we give up a goal early so we dont have to deal with blowing a lead, rumor is we are going to start throwing it in our own net at the beginning of games
I still have a bit of concern for the Panthers, but feel better after the rematch in Edmonton. The defensive pairings aren’t as solid, but their forward group has huge potential.
The most highly anticipated panic index of the season so far
RIGHT?! This season has been bonkers 😂😂
Maybe in a couple seasons
This one’s about to be a banger
With the Kings, we don’t panic until it gets closer to April and find out we’re playing Edmonton again.
Fourth time's the charm?
Trust me it’s not fun for us either. Obviously I like making it to the second round every year but playing the kings every year in round 1 is just no fun anymore. If we seriously get it again for the 4th straight year I will just be sick of it. I wanna face someone different and I want the kings to have another team as well to shake it up. If we meet in round 2 or 3 that would at least be something a little different
If the pattern continues, it'll be a sweep at least
My Devils fan panic meter level is represented by Robert DeNiro smoking a cigar and laughing in the movie theater in Cape Fear (the laughing is at the New York teams panicking)
I can only thumbs-up this once, but it's so good it deserves many, many more.
Can’t wait for the “Things that each team wants for Christmas” video
You? 🧥➡️
Put notifications on in anticipation of this one. Got snacks and beer at the ready.
Boy, as a Ranger fan, I wonder if we’re so low that we’re on the floor and off of the board
We’re not in the basement.
We are the basement.
magnet getting chewed on by the cat
Drury has buried this team in the bedrock.
I was thinking he’d add a tier below let it burn just for us
I thought you guys are contenders this season after last season what happened?

Seeing Ottawa have good goaltending for the 1st time in almost a decade puts me solidly in the top row!
Well there was some panic in November as they were about to torch another season. I'm waiting to see how they'll fare on this road trip before thinking they belong on the first row. For most of us Sabres fans it's not really panic anymore with this team.....it's apathy and watch the team burn.
As a Bruins fan, it’s a relief to not have to worry about them blowing it spectacularly in the playoffs again
Because they're not going to make it to the playoffs
really had to leave the atlantic for last for the anticipation i love it

Buffalo and New York: YES!
If it weren’t for the Bills the entire Empire State would be in misery.
Frankly, when picking up the Sabres magnet, you could have just dropped it and let it land on the floor. That would be incredibly accurate.
As a Toronto fan, I think a good rule of thumb is to look at their performance and figure out where the fan base SHOULD be, then put us one level lower.

The Avalanche shutout loss to Vancouver was a loss, but not a shutout.
The Santa here is pretty terrific! 🎄⭐️⭐️⭐️
Skipping to where my team is at. start video over and casually listen to the other takes.

This will be a good one. There's some drowning going on in the deep end, and vultures are circling above... the state of New York!
Perfect timing. The jersey is awesome. Merry Christmas to all.
I wonder where Buffalo is gonna be
Chicago has also killed 27 straight penalties knock on wood
0:25 then you have had to go mad finding a last minute gift on Christmas Eve. Talk about panic....😱🙀💀😅
Thanks for the video! Great insights!
The entire state of NY: dumpster fire
As a Pens fan, I'm one row down. They're winning games they shouldn't. Consistency is terrible. I'm a bit more nervous.
My only panic is that we might have to play Carolina in the playoffs again
-panic index
-thumbnail with richard panik and an mnm panicking on the board
Perfection
Tapped on this so fast, I'm already enthralled by the Xmas jersey!
Appreciate all your hard work all the time!
Panic index always makes me think of Pablo from Backyardigans. Yes I have grandkids.
The Backyardigans rule, to be fair.
I agree with your assessment of the Stars. You never know what you are going to get from them. Too many guys are sleep walking through the season.
Most unpredictable team is the Blues. They could go on a tear , or they could tank
I can't believe it's come to this. And Kakko was my favorite Ranger
Optimism and Ottawa in the same sentence? Am I dreaming?
Go SENS Go! GO Sens GO!!
NY state is experiencing all the negative parts of the index. Team that should be good being bad, team treading water in mediocrity, and team so bad its not even fun anymore
Let it burn sticker is so good.
Also, should have worn a Buffalo or NYR jersey for this week lmao
No panic in Buffalo. Only Kevin Adams. We got the Bills.
Unfortunately no palm trees
The Bills? Pretty sad when your satisfaction lies with a franchise that has not been to a Super Bowl in over 30 years and is 0-4 in Super Bowls all-time. And where a majority of your fans actually live in Arizona, North Carolina, Florida and other destinations well south of Buffalo.

Oh man here we go. Been waiting to see where ottawa lands!
Buffalo needs its own category
The metro is so chaotic but thankfully I'm a Devils fan
Nope. The top three will be chaotic starting this weekend
Bettman sent the drones over Jersey to spy on the devils and now he’s sending out drones to Shannon’s house 😳
The Canucks didn’t shut out Colorado but very close
Shannon, the Rangers just traded Kaapo Kakko. I think we need a weekly series for the Rags at this point. 😂
Bettman running a drone over THG, something is amiss ...

Gibson is 8 wins behind Giguere for the most in Anaheim history. I think they want him to get it before they make it Dostal's crease.
Your videos are a true source of inspiration and wisdom. Thank you for your creativity and dedication!🥭🤹🍈

Kakko to Seattle, can't wait to see him flourish there.

NY as a state is burning that’s why the teams in NY are doing so badly.
lol...."just let it burn" category. 🔥🔥
Wings fan here, dunno about the team, but the fans are in "burn it down" mode. 😅
Pretty close to rankings. Notice the top 2 rows have 17 teams and 16 places in the playoffs.
