      You're very welcome, Aaron. I'm truly grateful to you for your kind words. I hope that you can add Threezero's Voltron to your collection. As far as the shoulder joint issue is concerned, I've heard from a trusted source that it's been addressed and resolved. I know that it's pricey, but if you're in the market for a new Voltron for your display, you can't go wrong.

      @@cesardavis8700 I just wanted to let you know that I cancelled my preorder of the Threezero Robo-Dou Voltron and bought the Blitzway. In your comparison of the two, I really liked the heroic proportions of Blitzway over Threezero. And your comment about how light the Threezero version was helped me decide to spend the extra money. The Blitzway arrived and I couldn't be happier. 😊

    I chose the 3-0 vs SOC because of the dual handling of the sword. 3-0s version has more expressive posing ability vs SOC.

    What an amazing Voltron collection. Thanks for the video and for the comparison. The panel lining on that huge Mattel Voltron did look great. It looks like that is how it should have come in the first place. Also glad you were able to get the arms to lock in with your Threezero Voltron. BTW, that Blitzway Voltron is a thing of beauty!

      Thanks for watching. I'm getting another Threezero Voltron, but I'll just keep that one in the box. The one I reviewed I'll keep to experiment future upgrades from other third-party companies. That ties back to your question, which I'm trying hard to recall the answer to. I believe it was fan-made, and listed on ebay around the same retail time for the Voltron 84. I can't find the original listing anywhere on ebay, but there's a listing for a set of the number decals on there. Hope that helps. Thanks again, and best of luck.

    Nice review! I’m glad you were able to make your copy more usable. The Robo-Dou is a great looking figure. Hopefully they can get the issues sorted out. I just don’t have the space for any more large Voltrons…but I’d consider the Robo-Dou for its posability. It can do some stuff the SOC just can’t. I like how heavy the SOC is, but the weight does work against it some when posing.

    Thanks for this review, I'm still contemplating between Bandai and Threezero's renditions. Anime accuracy is most important to me so it's basically a toss up if which is more acceptable: GX-71, which has the correct belt details but has the lion paws inacurrately exposed in robot mode or the Threezero which accurately portrays the lion paws nicely hidden but has an inaccurately painted belt.

    It looks like the soc just cheaper looking with arm covers. Thanks for this review it was helpful. The blitzway looks nice I just don't like how narrow he appears. I think also for his price the could have issued full size pilot figures.

      @@cesardavis8700 Yes...this messes with my head. Such a simple oversight on the Star and the Cross I believe is intentional. Blitzway Carbotix wins again for getting this correct... However...oddly the blue and red flag/shapes behind the cross are missing the lines that usually run accross it.

    Did you try to contact ThreeZero about the issue?
    I received mine around the same time as you did, but only opened it yesterday and unfortunately my copy has the same issue.
    Such a beautiful figure, there are definitely diecast parts too, the leg lions got some weight to them. May not be as hefty as the SOC but it feels premium, unlike what some folks have been saying.

    • @cesardavis8700
      @cesardavis8700  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for the late reply, MagnaDefender. I did contact Threezero, and their response was that I could do one of two things. One is ship the malfunctioning pieces of the toy back to them, and they would repair and ship back to me in about 2-3 months. The other option they replied with like two weeks after their original response, was that they would ship the parts to repair the issue when they are available. I would then take it upon myself to repair it. Either way, I purchased another copy, which hopefully doesn't have the same problem. BTW, make sure to do the warranty on their website, or they won't cover any repairs/replacements. I agree with you in that it's a beautiful rendition. Best of luck, and happy collecting!

Thanks for the reply. Great review probably the best one I've seen and I've watched a lot. Plus you're not annoying like some of the other content creators. One thing I didn't hear mentioned, maybe I just missed it. The ThreeZero red and green lion are the same. The green lion upper body is square. Where SOC is what it is supposed to look like. In response, I'd like to tell you that I have three children that I adore more than anything in this life. Sometimes, friends ask which child I prefer. To which I always answer, the one that's not causing me to go freaking nuts at the moment! Which is neither here nor there, but that's the way I also feel about these Voltron toys. In my opinion, this Voltron has the best body proportions and most accurate face sculpt I’ve thus seen.

    • @cesardavis8700
      @cesardavis8700  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the post, Oliver. I would like to agree with you, but I feel that we must first set a precedent for what we're referring to when we say, "best proportions and accuracy in sculpt." As for the animation model, I would say that the Mattel SDCC Blazing Sword Voltron action figure has all other versions beat by a mile. I've put this version against stills from the show, and it's uncanny in how well it mirrors the hand-drawn image. I realize it's not an actual combiner, but given the current technology and resources, it should not be an excuse. Especially when companies like Takara, are making animation model-precise masterpiece figures that can articulate, transform, and combine.
      Now, if the original Popy/Bandai model is what we're referring to, then I would have to go with the Soul of Chogokin, GX-71 for best head sculpt and general proportions. You have to give kudos to Bandai for really being the first to incorporate all aspects to put into their Voltron design. Threezero definitely has more elegant proportions in regards to an ideal human standard of beauty, but the head sculpt is really soft. It doesn't fulfill what I would consider a good representation of the animation model, or an accurate depiction of the first Voltron toy.
      Let's hope other viewers chime in with their opinions. Thanks for the topic of discussion, Oliver. Have a wonderful day, and happy collecting, brother.

    • @oli1682
      @oli1682 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@cesardavis8700 Thanks for the reply. In comparison to the Bandai Soul of Chagokin (of which I have two) and even the Blitzway. The Three Zero seems to be the best proportioned to me. It slowly dawned on me that with the Bandai blue and yellow lions, they come up too high on the legs, making them look like thigh high boots lol. The other small gripe I have is the black Lions head looks like a cap when Voltron is formed. It’s a little too bulky at the top. The Blitzway is gorgeous but the body is too lanky somehow. Regarding the faces. The Three Zero face seems more feminine (soft) but very anime accurate. I mean in anime all the characters, even the men are pretty so it works. The red stripe on his pelvis is odd though, I’ve never seen it portrayed that way and wonder why they went that route? I’m sure in a couple of year we will have some other iteration 1 upping these and we will adjust our opinions accordingly as we complain about space lol. Either way, I’m glad we have so many to pick from and able to add to our collections. I just discovered the Shogun Warrior line from Toynami and they are stunning… and ridiculously expensive. Anyway, great video and keep up the passion!

      @cesardavis8700  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the comment. I think you're only partially right, Andrew Dinsmoor. A modern take on the Popy was definitely in order, but they refined the look and proportions of the gestalt always referring to the animation model. I say that because it's vaguely referenced in the included manual. I also think that the features and articulation, again were engineered with the animation look in mind. That's not to say they were aiming for an animation correct facsimile, but you can't deny that inspiration was derived from it, as well as the original Popy. Now how awesome would it be if a company designed a Golion/Voltron with the animation look?
