    I chose the 3-0 vs SOC because of the dual handling of the sword. 3-0s version has more expressive posing ability vs SOC.

    Just to clarify, in this video he has a 1.0 version of the Kitzconcept Valkyrie. The 2.0 versions have a completely updated sculpt which is improved and much, much better. Unfortunately many collectors don't realize this, and gave up on the line after the first release. I personally like the surface detail on the Kitzconcepts best. The Bandai DX does a few things better (the elbow, design for one), but it's a tough choice between Bandai and Threezero (except for the size, of course). I prefer Threezero's lower leg sculpt, as they are a bit more rounded. The Threezero has hard black anime panel lines, even though the lines are already scribed. All in all, I agree with the review of the Threezero: it is extremely well done for the price. It's also surprisingly heavy due to the amount of metal in the internal structure. The construction quality seems really high. I think a lot of people slept on this one and might regret it later.

      Thanks for the post. I couldn't agree with you more about the Threezero. You're also right about, personally speaking, collectors giving up on the Kitzconcept. However, I think that with Threezero in the mix, Kitzconcept should focus on the other two Robotech series and maybe develop the mechs to compliment the action figures they have for Southern Cross and Mospeada(future releases). Thanks again!

    Tough to tell from the vid. How much taller(robot mode) or longer (fighter mode) is the threezero compared to v2 vf yamato or arcadia? Same size?

    • @cesardavis8700
      @cesardavis8700 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@adamreed31 the difference in size is minimal, so you could possibly display them together. The big difference is the execution of the design. Yamato's design is definitely more linear and angular, where Threezero's take seems more bloated or rounded like in the animation. The other huge difference is the finish. Yamato/Arcadia has an opaque plastic look to its surface, where Threezero has a semi-gloss painted finish throughout. If you painted the Yamato's surface in a similar way to Threezero's version, I think you could definitely make it work in a display. Thanks again.

    Please explain to me how a reviewer like you cannot notice a manufacture defect as the elbow piece STUCK inside the forearm. This piece should move (as it's shown in the pictures in the box) but it cannot. All copies of this toy seems to have this defect. DO NOT BUY It. If at least ONE of TH-cam reviewers had noticed that I would have not bought this fucking toy, now THREEZERO ask to send the toy to them in Hong Kong (I'm in Italy!!) at my own expenses!

    • @cesardavis8700

      I feel your pain, brother!! I also had QC issues with their Voltron release. They initially made it pretty hard to resolve the situation, but Threezero did come through and sent me a whole new sample. I'm sorry for your issue. However, my copy did not have this dilemma. Articulation of the arm and elbow joints is fine and smooth. Another acquaintance also purchased this piece, and has not had any issue with articulation. The only minor complaint that's developed in the time I've posed it around on my shelf is the waist swivel. It seems that it is getting a little loose. Regardless, you can't hate the company for not wanting to eat the cost of shipping. They're still willing to fix the issue. Best of luck with this issue, and post a video about your problem. You might help someone else with a similar problem.

      @cesardavis8700 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, it does have this defect. I had already confirmed this on the original poster's video. It does not however, affect articulation in the least. I chalk it up to prototype photography being used for the packaging.

    • @99nessuno99
      @99nessuno99 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@cesardavis8700 it doesn't affect articulation in movements but aesthetically it affects it a lot! It looks horrible. It is absolutely evident to me that that articulation piece, which is die-cast, was intended to rotate exactly like in the Bandai Dx but they made a design mistake and the thin part that should be the SECOND point of rotation of the elbows actually works as well as first point of rotation because it is too long. So it doesn't put pressure on the die-cast part that cannot rotate simply bending the arm and you cannot grasp it because it is almost completely inside the forearm and there is no place to find a hold and pull the part somehow. Now i don't know if they decided to glue the die-cast part inside the forearm plastic parts or if it is simply stuck, i asked them and they don't give me an answer. Anyway after i explained with emails, pictures and the videoclip to them what was the issue i was referring to (and they told me to send it to them for fixing) they wrote back to me, after receiving the object (i spent 43€ for shipping) , that there is no issue and that the box pictures where intended to be "a prototype" and that the actual toy is different from those pictures. I became furious and they decided to send back to me another new toy more with my old one. They say they are going to release a new batch of the vf-1j in October and they will send one to me. It's not clear if the new batch has that defect corrected or if it's identical. In my opinion the issue could be corrected simply if you could glue the thin articulation plastic part to the die-cast part so that the die-cast part would force to move and the thin joint part would work only as second rotation point as it was certainly designed from the beginning. But if the die-cast part has been glued to the inside of the forearm and you glue the thin part inside the die-cast part you would block the first rotation point of the articulation ruining the toy.... I hope I wrote it clearly

    • @cesardavis8700
      @cesardavis8700 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for the comment. You make an interesting observation, but they actually feel very different in hand. The Kitzconcept feels fragile, and is quite brittle around the areas where die-cast meets ABS plastic. It is also smaller in comparison with the Threezero. The Kitzconcept is 1/72 scale versus 1/60, give or take, for Threezero. The transformation is also quite fiddly when manipulating, where the Threezero had the benefit of seeing and handling all the preceeding offerings from other manufacturers. I'm positive they took the best, and improved on most of the competition's shortcomings. In short, the Threezero is the superior product. If you can still find it for a good price, you won't regret it. Hope that helps. By the way, when the Threezero VF-1S is released I'll do a huge comparison video. I will also rank all of the commercially produced Roy Focker Valkyries. Thanks again, and happy collecting!!

    • @cesardavis8700
      @cesardavis8700 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for the kind comment. Regarding the white paint on the VF-1J, it honestly looks like there is paint on most of the visible areas. I wish I could be more precise for you, but Threezero applies a clear matte/satin finish to the model. This finish really makes it look like there's paint on the surface. If you've built Gundam kits and sprayed a matte clear coat on bare plastic, you'll know what I mean. Regardless, this Threezero has a very clean and polished finish, along with sharp tampographics and printing. It all comes together to give you the best finish out of all the readily available products. Thanks again, and happy collecting!

    As someone who only got into Macross relatively recently, I have been looking for a good Valkyrie (or Veritech) figure. The only thing that is keeping me from pulling the trigger on buying the Three Zero version is if it is possible to have the robot mode without the gap fillers? I've heard mixed responses to this question.

    • @cesardavis8700
      @cesardavis8700 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for the post. The short answer is yes. You can have it in Battroid mode without the gap fillers, and it will hold just fine. The real question is why would you not use the filler? It really helps to finish the look, plus they're already included with the package. It's just another option for you, and options are a good thing in this case. Threezero put just as much attention to the accessories, as the main figure. Come to the dark side, young padawan. You'll appreciate the whole package! Thanks again, and happy collecting!!

    • @Doiboy35
      @Doiboy35 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@cesardavis8700 Thank you for the response. I'm kind of a klutz so for a figure as pricey as this (still a great value compared to other similar figures, but still relatively expensive) I would be paranoid of losing pieces especially if they are integral to the transformation (same reason why I probably won't get the Bandai HG Macross kits). So if the gap fillers aren't necessary, for my own peace of mind, I would probably keep them in the box and only pull them out for photography or the odd stop motion. I mean, looking at the original Takatoku figure I personally don't mind the gap, and I imagine the Three Zero figure's gap would look similar if not better.

    • @cesardavis8700
      @cesardavis8700 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You bring up excellent points that I failed to consider. In terms of the gap, the Threezero, like the Bandai DX, has a wider side profile in the upper torso. This makes it more visually disruptive. You can look at the Bandai DX in the video and see what it looks like without the fillers in place. The Takatoku has a considerably slimmer profile, and is not as distasteful. I think we, as collectors, also tend to look at vintage figures through very nostalgic lenses, if you know what I mean. Regardless of my rambling, that option is there for your choosing with the Threezero. Hope this helps your decision. Thanks again.

      Apologies for the delay. Per your question, it's called a Minicel or Miniature Celsius. They came in various deco styles, this one is obviously Voltron. They were made by Kuso Vinyl, and they're getting pretty hard to find on the secondary market. I hope this helps, and happy collecting!

      @cesardavis8700 no worries. Getting hard you say... more like they are just a myth. Lol SanDiegoComicCon in a month if there is one for sale out there that's where I'll find it. Thanks for the reply. Great review probably the best one I've seen and I've watched a lot. Plus you're not annoying like some of the other content creators. One thing I didn't hear mentioned, maybe I just missed it. The ThreeZero red and green lion are the same. The green lion upper body is square. Where SOC is what it is supposed to look like. Idk I just feel like that is just a lazy move by ThreeZero. Just in terms of comparing SOC and ThreeZero. Have you got the good smile moderoid yet? If so good smile moderoid or bandai minipla?

    Thanks for this review, I'm still contemplating between Bandai and Threezero's renditions. Anime accuracy is most important to me so it's basically a toss up if which is more acceptable: GX-71, which has the correct belt details but has the lion paws inacurrately exposed in robot mode or the Threezero which accurately portrays the lion paws nicely hidden but has an inaccurately painted belt.

    I have my Threezero Voltron coming from Sideshow in the next few days and can't wait. As for the Blitzway... I might try and pick up the Japan Exclusive one just because at the current exchange rate it is a bit cheaper... but man... what a time to be a Voltron collector. Just need these companies to tackle vehicle Voltron more!

      Alexander, I couldn't agree with you more! All the recent iterations of Voltron are nothing short of a showcase in technology, creativity, and resolve combined to give our nostalgia an endorphin filled high!! All that I can truly fantasize for now is an animation accurate transforming Voltron. I think I could happily stop collecting if one of these amazing companies released a version like that. Anyhow, thanks for the comment and happy collecting, brother!

    SOC is the original next generation voltron. It was revolutionary. 3zero and blitzway are copycats with extras. Bandai remains king imo.

    Bandai wasn’t aiming for an anime accurate Voltron, it was a modernization of the original Popy toy.

    • @cesardavis8700
      @cesardavis8700 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the comment. I think you're only partially right, Andrew Dinsmoor. A modern take on the Popy was definitely in order, but they refined the look and proportions of the gestalt always referring to the animation model. I say that because it's vaguely referenced in the included manual. I also think that the features and articulation, again were engineered with the animation look in mind. That's not to say they were aiming for an animation correct facsimile, but you can't deny that inspiration was derived from it, as well as the original Popy. Now how awesome would it be if a company designed a Golion/Voltron with the animation look? Thanks again, and happy collecting, brother!

    No Lego Voltron for you?

    • @cesardavis8700
      @cesardavis8700 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, and thanks for the question. My apologies for not showing the Lego and other off-brand buildable Voltron/Golion. I haven't actually built any of them, but I do have them in my collection. My favorite pieces are these Chinese off-brand chibi style Voltron that actually transform and assemble seamlessly. At least that's what the advertisement on Aliexpress leads me to believe. It was shipped in a cellophane bag with a QR code card for the instructions, and again, I've not built any of them as of yet. Maybe down the road I can do a video showcasing all of these ingenious products. Thanks again, and happy collecting, brother!

      You're very welcome, Aaron. I'm truly grateful to you for your kind words. I hope that you can add Threezero's Voltron to your collection. As far as the shoulder joint issue is concerned, I've heard from a trusted source that it's been addressed and resolved. I know that it's pricey, but if you're in the market for a new Voltron for your display, you can't go wrong.

      @@cesardavis8700 I just wanted to let you know that I cancelled my preorder of the Threezero Robo-Dou Voltron and bought the Blitzway. In your comparison of the two, I really liked the heroic proportions of Blitzway over Threezero. And your comment about how light the Threezero version was helped me decide to spend the extra money. The Blitzway arrived and I couldn't be happier. 😊

      @@cesardavis8700 My Voltrons are spread out around the house. My 1984 original is in front of me next to my Pentabot above my computer desk crammed in with Star Wars and Marvel Legends figures. My SOC is in my other room next to the SOC Vehicle Voltron and the SOC Daltanious AND the Playmates Lion and Legendary Voltrons. @@cesardavis8700 Yes...this messes with my head. Such a simple oversight on the Star and the Cross I believe is intentional. Blitzway Carbotix wins again for getting this correct... However...oddly the blue and red flag/shapes behind the cross are missing the lines that usually run accross it.

  • @eijentwun5509
    @eijentwun5509 ปีที่แล้ว

    The face is almost perfect but too pointy on the chin and the areas outside the face should be darker. The CROSS is completely wrong...thats an X...(notice the Toynami has a proper Cross just like the cartoon and its intent).... they keep making this X on Purpose because Voltron is a Lion (Like the Lion of the Tribe Of Judah) The Cross is like the Cross of Christ, The Belt star is the Star of David and King Alfor is a Christ Figure.
