Thanks Carole yes I did so enjoy this demo..I would like to ask though where is the line drawn between 'working until you are happy' and 'overworking'??? Again so many layers, I can see where I have been going wrong...
I love your work. Attempting to paint this, the thing I’m having trouble with is is knowing how much of each paint to use for the mixtures as well as the flow medium. Do you ever show the mixing of your paints in your videos?
See I never mix large amounts of paint. I squeeze my colours on the palette and dip my brush and pick up tiny amounts of what I use and mix them as I go along. It’s all intuitive. The best way to learn, and I know ppl don’t like hearing this but it’s the absolute truth, is trial and error. I still mix some things wrong now and then and either take away or add, depending on how dark or light I want my colour, or what tone I want. This comes with time and practice. The more you paint, the more you can look at a subject and guess the colours you’ll need. I only mix about 10% medium. The more you use, the more transparent the paint gets. That’s ok for glazing though. If I show the palette as I mix, then you lose the close up view of the work being done as I’d have to pull the camera further back to catch it all. That or have two cameras and do a split screen. Now, if someone’s willing to buy me a camera ... 😉
Amazing details. Thank you so much for sharing! I'm still trying to figure out ways to create the fur effect properly. Cheers from a novice wildlife illustrator ♥
Merci Carol pour ce partage. Tes pinceaux sont super, c'est quoi comme marque et taille. Les golden , c'est avec retardateur ? Et la première couche tu met du medium ou de l'eau ? En tout cas tu as beaucoup de talent.

Amazing dear corole tell me about your brushes
Thx ask! Honestly, I just used cheap brushes for this.
Gracias, lindo trabajo. Yo aprendí mucho. Por favor subtitulos en español
I really enjoyed your video. May I ask what size and type of brushes you used for the detailed fur?
I don’t stick to any particular brand. I mostly use size 0 or 1 fine liner brushes. Glad you enjoyed it!
Great....!.
Thanks!

Thanks Nicole! Glad you liked it!
Prachtig, waar haal je die percelen vandaan?
Thank you Carole. Can I ask if you use a glazing medium when applying glazes? (-: Marion
My pleasure! I used Liquitex flow medium while painting and it also makes a great glaze.
Carole, what is the ratio of the flow medium that you use? Thanks!
Super
Glad you like it!
