The lav sounded better (or more natural I guess like you said) but the go wireless sounded more detailed. I’ve had the go for like a year and a half and never used it...Too lazy to connect it to my phone I guess. I’m going to get the lav and start using my Go also. Thanks Ben!!!
I just wanted to say that I'm a big fan of your glasses. Thanks for the comparison. I own the Wireless Go and was considering adding the Lavalier mic. Don't think I will for now. Thank you!
Great review thanks ! I do like the softer sounds for interviews and I feel Rode generally is softer compared to sennheiser that sounds very "metallic" in a way, very sharp and agressive.
Nice review! Can you explain how you set the gain? And did you use an audio recorder/edit in post? I have the lavalier Go as well, but I like how your recording sounded
I don't know why you prefer the wireless go because it sounds muffled whereas the lavalier go actually sounds more upfront the soundstage is closer to you it's clearer
Great video man, solid comparison, straight to the point. I listened with my Sony 7506 headphones and personally like the lavalier go better as it was a bit clearer and natural as you had said and had less midrange than the wireless go. Thanks i will buy both regardless though because i need the transmitter
I have the Wireless Go and I agree - AMAZING quality and I love it so much. The only issue is in a sit and chat video (I do workout videos and talking head videos) - it looks SUPER bulky and weird..and gets sweaty like you mentioned. So if I got the lav go and plug it into the Wireless go - it will sound like the Lav Go Mic? I don't hear much of a difference in your video, but just curious!
Correct - if you plug a lav mic (or any other mic) into the wireless go, you'll hear the audio from that external mic, not the internal mic on the wireless go
Thanks for posting the video. Do you have any thoughts on the Rode Wireless Go + Rode smartLav+ combination, instead of the Lavalier Go in terms of audio quality?
just got the newest duo receiver. glad i decided to add two lav mics to my order because i defintely think it sounds better. looking forward to start recording with it
@@b3naqua great, can you also test how well they work at rejecting speaker sound. Moderate level of course. I want to use them for streaming music production, mixing and mastering. Which means it's done at a voice like volume. But I intend them of outside podcasting and adventure also for that will help also. That might be enough for me to get a idea anyway. Thank man!! Good luck!
Hi Ben! :) What microphone would you suggest to record the voice of a wedding civil ceremony (indoor)? The mic is could be only on the table in front of the wedding couple.
Hey bro straight questions Please give me a straight answer I m not happy wiyh the quality of rode wireless go in-built mic Same setup a6400 Sigma 16mm f1.4 Shoud I buy lavellier go or nor? Also tell me the audio levels on the camerA If I record to zoom h1n will it sound better than a6400 I bought rode nt usb mini returned it Bought blue yeti returned it The thing is that I want a microphone while wearing that I can move Please tell methe quality of lavellier go is better than rode wireless go inbuilt mic or not?????
With headphones on, I hear the Go Mic as a bit more clean over the lav. That being said the lav sound's good and is better [looks better] for the person wearing it.
Comment with which mic sounded better! 🧐
Buy RODE Wireless GO (white) - amzn.to/33ldjBE
Buy RODE Lavalier GO (white) - amzn.to/2FtDj5W

@@b3naqua great video. Thanks for the insight. Also a big fan of those glasses. Any chance you’d share where they’re from?

Agreed! Glad my video was helpful!
Tx. Great comparison of these 2 types of usage of the Rode
Glad you dug it!

Thanks! I set the mic input tan to -11 on the a6400. In post, I boosted the audio +3db.
Very helpful. Thank you. Have you ever used the wireless go to record audio while using a cellphone as your camera?
Great info, thanks. I preferred your voice through the wireless go!
Glad it was helpful!

Nice video man, I just ordered the go 2 and was thinking of getting the lav too but hearing this i think i prefer the wireless go to the lav
Thanks! I think you made a wise decision getting the go 2!

how well do they reject outside sound?
Good question! I want to do some outside tests.

what do you thunk of a wired LAVS?
thanks for the info, how does it do outside?
Good Q! They do pretty well outside too. Maybe I’ll make a follow up video about that!
With headphones on, I hear the Go Mic as a bit more clean over the lav. That being said the lav sound's good and is better [looks better] for the person wearing it.
Is Wireless Go dangerous for thyroid?
Wireless GO is much better. Lav sounds a bit more muffled
Agreed
I prefer the Lavalier GO tbh.
It's an awesome little mic for sure
Your post processing ruined the lav sound
Lavalier Go broke after few days use, quality seem worser than their smartlav+
that sucks yours broke!
Definitely the wireless go
Agreed
Lavalier Go sounds all compressed and muffled. Me no likey.
Yup, it’s not for everybody.
