HI doctor my sons age is 4.5yrs when surgery is required for adenoids ?
At what age adenoids will shrink automatically?

You should see an ENT or a dentist who manages airway (like me!)

In kids, adenoids grow to their maximum size between ages 3 and 5.
It begin to shrink after 5 years of age, in some cases by age 7 or 8, and disappear by the teen years.
But plz have an check up with an ENT.

Hi doctor, my 4.5yo daughter have adenoid ratio 1.48/1.84 = 0.80 (moderate) what will happen next? Need surgery?

Hi there, sorry for the delay response.
Enlarge adenoid is normal in children's, if there is no severe obstruction of the airway no need of surgery. With age, the size of the tonsils becomes smaller.
      Wish your daughter the best.

The radiography is unforgivable. No child should get whole upper body dose in this procedure. Sack your radiographer

Hi there I don't know how much you know about radiation dose, but according to the guidelines we have something that is called ALARA (as low as reasonable achievable). This is benefit for the patient especially as he/she is suffering from hard breathing at night . It is the best choice radiography with low dose radiation for detecting the obstruction.
PS: The radiography in the video is not taken in my center.
PS 2: We can always be polite and ask are question to get the right answer.
      Thank you

@@dentoradiology3212 Sorry about the lack of politeness. As you say, ALARA is correct, but that means limiting the beam to the region of interest which hasn't been done in the video, particularly in the middle where, as I said, the entire upper body has been irradiated to look at the adenoids. It is unforgivable. It is a kind of assault. The pity is that it isn't an obvious thing to see because the profession has done such a bad job for a century. The text books were written before the light beam diaphragm was invented. An example of how bad teaching can be, please look at how they do baby chest x-rays in India. th-cam.com/video/uRzjsWM-ryI/w-d-xo.html
