I started to wonder if it was all worth it for him. I feel very reassured, thank-you. I wish my eldest had been seen earlier. We had been referred to paediatricians previously but was never picked up. My youngest has had respiratory issues all his life, later diagnosed with a dairy intolerance. I started to feel truly neurotic as every paediatric doctor told me he was fine and was just a mouth breather? As soon as I met the ENT consultant, he diagnosed the issue in both my boys in 5 minutes!!! I’m annoyed with myself for not advocating more for my children. My eldest went from As to Ds and ENT doctor described him as dangerously sleep deprived through sleep apnea! I never sought psychiatric input as my instincts told me it was his sleep issues not adhd. I expect many children have been diagnosed with adhd without ent assessments or sleep studies to rule out a physical cause. Thank-you for explaining the potential consequences of not going the surgeries. I needed to hear this today. I pray the surgery makes life easier for my boys. 🙏 if you are on the fence, please talk it through with an ENT specialist as I feel my eldest school life and confidence could have been better supported with earlier intervention. 🤍
Wow thank you for sharing this experience in detail. I will look further into believing the doctor this time because I had the same sentiments and my son has the same issues. God Bless you and yours.
Thanks for sharing your personal experience, my kid is also having same issues and we were visiting pediatricians for temporary relief . We came to know of adenoids when we got it checked from an ENT doc.
Thank you for sharing. My 7 year old just underwent an adenoidectomy, tonsillectomy and turbinate reduction today. I can relate to similar experiences as both my children also went through sleep disturbances and change in academics. My daughter underwent a T& A removal when she was about 14/15 and I wish I would have done it sooner. She is now 18.
My son is 6 years old now. At 18 months old, he had about 8 ear infections. Enough was enough! We got tubes and adenoids removed. Not a single ear infection since, and, he only gets sick about once or twice a year. Hardly a runny nose ever! I recommend it.
Thank you for sharing your experience, my child is 5 and since he was a baby he has been having a no stop running nose, breathing through his mouth, sometimes he stops breathing when he is sleeping. He has speech problem, one of hear drum doesn’t move properly . Our family doctor referred him to see a ENT doctor and today the doctor suggested to do the adenoids surgery, I signed the form but I was still having some doutes by hearing your experience, I feel more confident doing it. 🙏

Excellent explanation! Thank you so much. My 2 year old has swollen adenoids, but the ENT did not recommend removal. I'm keeping a close eye on him because nights are exhausting, but he doesn't get infections or has problems hearing. He is constantly congested. His ped prescribed zyrtec, so we're trying to see if it helps. ENT doc says they should eventually shrink. Let's see what happens!
What a brilliant explanation Doctor. My son had his Adenoidectomy today at Oxford University Hospital in the UK. For last 4 years ever since we arrived in the UK he kept developing ear infections, otitis media, blocked nose and severe allergic rhinitis. Doctors here gave him Avamys but asked us to monitor. Avamys could only provide temporary relief. So we had his Audiometry test done and XRay where it was found he had eustachian tube stenosis. Poor kid suffered a lot. So the Doctors finally asked us to go for Adenoidectomy. Fingers crossed hope he outgrows all the problems now.
Thank you for your detailed explanation. Your guidance has been invaluable as my 8-year-old son prepares for adenoidectomy next week. I was uncertain about proceeding with the surgery, but his severe nocturnal apnea and persistent noisy breathing in the mornings, coupled with recurrent cold and flu episodes despite medications and antibiotics, have led us to this decision. His doctor has advised adenoidectomy as the best solution. Please keep my little son in your thoughts for a smooth procedure and recovery.🙏🏻🙏🏻
Hello again, On the 5th day after my son's adenoidectomy, he still experiences a stuffy nose, nasal congestion, runny nose, and sunken eyes. At night, he suffers from sleep apnea, noisy snoring, and continues to breathe through his mouth. Although he slept comfortably the first night post-surgery, he still feels throat pain. I am concerned that consuming ice cream, though recommended for treatment, may exacerbate his symptoms. Despite offering soft foods like mixed dishes and soup, he refuses to eat as he prefers solid foods like bread and pizza, which are currently restricted. Additionally, his respiratory rate ranges between 9 to 14 breaths per minute. When can I expect improvement in his nighttime breathing, and when can he resume consuming bread and other solid foods?
Well explained thank you so much with the information My 5 year old boy is on the waiting list for surgery he has no allergies only one nose is blocked the airway passage he always have cold flues, snoring restless sleep
Hello Doctor. I am from Africa, Kenya. Your explanation has really explained all the questions I had about my 16 months old son who has struggled with colds, infections in both ears, snoring, stunted growth, dental problems... Always on medication... It has really drained him and myself since he has a twin who fortunately isn't affected by the adenoids but taking care of both of them has proven very difficult... after the video, I am now sure that he needs the surgery. The problem is that I have no medical insurance and currently separated from my husband and still unemployed. Any help to help my baby boy get the surgery will make me so happy and help the boy grow well. Any volunteer(s) and well wishers,, may God move your heart so that you can be a blessing to us 🙏😔
Hiii...warm regards, i saw this vedio post my daughter's adenoidectomy.....must say u have explained it very well....a great guidance for parents reluctant to go for adenoidectomy....
Thank you Doctor for that nice explanation. My 17 months old son has adenoiditis and inflamed tonsils. X-ray result showed a 90% nasal blockage, and my ENT doctor has booked him for surgery November 1st 2024. I am really worried not only because I can't afford the surgery fee $550 but also because of his age. In the main time, he has been placed on Fleming 457MG SYR, Aristobet-N nasal drop, Montral tab...just to manage his situation b4 the surgery date. I really need help!!!
Hi, Your doctor is the best judge of your childs condition. In case of any doubt, always seek a second opinion. I am sure medical management has been tried and doctor suggested surgery for your child only after he did not see improvement.
A detailed video, my 10yr old boy has been advised this surgery but I'm still not able to makeup my mind. He has been having repeated episodes of dry cough in monsoon and winter. It hurts me seeing him like this, until recently i visited an ENT specialist who checked and explained what the root cause was. This video is an eye opener for me with all the issues he had faced from last 7yrs. Really appreciated.
So very well explained sir. You covered many aspects. So truly said sir. My elder child had the same issue and we realised very late. We finally got him operated at the age of 13, but by now, his round cute face already changed to very elongated narrow and long face along with a little crowning of teeth. Is there any way to get his face to a better/rounder structure again?
Best explanation in internet for adenoids hypertrophy.... My baby is 2 yr old suffering adenoids hypertrophy but i don't know stage no symptoms of bleeding from nose or ear discharge but adenoids hypertrophy seen in xray report so can it be treated with medicine only or have to go for surgical . And also add what to eat or do and what not to eat and do for these patients ❤❤❤❤
Hi, no adenoids do not require surgery unless they turn troublesome and do not respond to medicines. Focus on allergy identification and avoidance, medication.
Thank you for the information. My 6-year-old child will have surgery tomorrow. I was very nervous, but after watching your video, I am feeling relaxed. My sons have a cold, cough, sore throat, or sleeping issues. After taking x-rays, the doctor recommended surgery.
Very well explained doctor, thank you. Can you also share what are the downsides of removing adenoids? Does it affect the child anyways in the future? You were saying adenoids are first line of defense, if it is removed, would it cause more allergies, cold/coughs in the future?
Hello Dr. Chaitanya Rao, my son 6 y.o had adenoid surgery two months ago, we found a side effect that the upper oropharynx (near the nasopharynx) thickened, so that the naso-oropharyngeal opening became narrow, now he has heard wheezing and snoring at night or during the day while sleeping. What happened?Have you ever had a case of a patient like this? Thanks for your attention
Stenosis on nasopharynx, the rare case, do you kno how about the treatment? Are the stenosis will being normal formation naturally without any surgery?
just got my 5 year old seen and x-rayed due to noticeable mouth breathing at night with cough, during swimming and endurance activities. Also he seems tired and grumpy with lack of patience. after xray discovered 60-75% blockage. just ordered a sleep test, but looks like regardless we will have them removed. I learned about this from another parent at kiddie gym. Excellent video though this helped with our decisions
This is Soo informative. My 3.9 is really suffering, doc has recommended this procedure but have been sceptical about it..thank you for this information
Good explanation doctor. But, would appreciate if you can make a video explaining what is severity of symptoms, when we can wait and when should we go for the surgery. Because, surgery should not be done when it's not necessary, Also please make a video how to medical manage gor grade 1 and geade 2. It's with your explanation that I went for Fess and Septoplasty, and I'm thankful to you. You are a blessing.
My son is 5 year old doctor recommended surgery . Is it fine to delay this procedure ? He’s having breathing problem during night and now this is also happening in day time .
Very informative sir.. we consulted ent, doctor gave antibiotics n suggested surgery if repeated...along with antibiotics, does home remedies help to get ride of adinoids in children like gargling, garlic, honey, turmeric etc...
Hi, Certainly, home remedies like gargling, honey, turmeric, and garlic can help manage some symptoms of adenoid problems and boost immunity. However, they can't shrink the adenoids or cure adenoid hypertrophy. In cases where adenoid enlargement is causing significant symptoms such as snoring, breathing difficulties, recurrent ear or sinus infections, Surgery is recommended. Always discuss additional treatments with your child's doctor. They provide the best personalised advice.
Thank you for the informative video Dr. My daughter is 7 years old advised both surgeries. She has had her gall bladder removed at 2 years of age owing to a choledochal cyst surgery, This is scaring my wife to no end thinking that this will be a second surgery and removal of 2 more body parts. Is there a reason to worry here please. Will our daughter be weaker in handling this surgery or in general owing to missing gall bladder?
Hi, your child’s anesthesia doctor will assess her thoroughly and give surgery fitness only if it is safe or else advise you accordingly. Based on what you have mentioned, your child should be able to handle surgery comfortably. All the best.
This has been very informative, you simplified medical terminology and put me at ease . The ENT has scheduled my 3year old for both adenoids and tonsils removal (grade 3) , I was too stressed but super confident after watching this video. Thank so much
We are based in Germany and after watching this video, we felt at ease. My boy is 2,8 years old and is just about to get the Adenoids removed. Thank you very much doctor.
Dr. Pls my 9 year old son has been diagnosed with adenoids but because my daughter had complications after she went through tonsillectomy, we are therefore scared of going through the surgery, is it possibel he will be fine after some time.
Dear Doctor, thank you for explaining this very clearly; but I have one doubt. Is there any possibility post surgery the adenoid gland will reappear and the kid need to undergo surgery again; If this is so on what scenario it happens?
Hello Dr my son is suffering with adenoids and ear infection to that he is having tounsens it's ims plz I want to talk about this how can i contact sir plz
Hi, i have seen in my experience, tonsils growing in size after adenoids removal. These children needed a repeat surgery at a later stage as enlarged tonsils were causing snoring recurrence.
@@SinusDoctor1 sir.. does it mean .. both adenoid and tonsil has to be removed? if we remove adenoid by age 5 , does it mean ..tonsil will grow occupy that empty space ?
Hello Dr. Chaitanya Rao, thank you for the wonderful explanation. My 3-year-old son has some symptoms you have mentioned, and two ENT doctors of two hospitals in China suggest my son should have his adenoids removed based on the following: 1. CT-scan and X-ray show his adenoids are in grade 3 (70% blockage). 2. He wakes up 1-3 times a night, but he’s still quite energetic in the day, no daytime fatigue or short attention span. 3. He sometimes breathes through his mouth, and sometimes snores, but not always. 4. He sometimes rubs his nose and sniffs. Can enlarged adenoids cause that or allergy? He is kinda allergic to dust. 5. Nothing wrong with his ears; no ear infection. My questions are 1. “Do you think his symptoms are severe enough to have a removal operation?”. 2. Or should we try medication first and see if there is any improvement, and then decide whether to have an operation later? I trust you and really need your advice. Thank you for your time.
Hi @yanil535. Please kindly suggest help because my 3 year 8 month baby boy also grade 3 adenoids . Both pediatrician and ENT doctors told to use antibiotics and nasal spray for 1 month and asked to come after 1 month for further checkup. Please tell us how to overcome and to reduce adenoids especially night he is snoring a lot and bad breathing.
This is very beautifuly explain, Thanks you doctor. I have question that after removing edenoids is immunity will impaired? Also if we remove adenoids, life long it will create any issue?
Thank you so much Dr. This truly filled me with peace, knowing i may be up for this procedure with my soon to be 3yr old child. Please how long does recovery take after the procedure?
Explained so well and complete information to help so many parents take informed decision. Sir, what to expect post surgery? Are children going to be more vulnerable to infection and is it possible for adenoids to reoccur?
Thank you. Post adenoidectomy, child will have to use medicines and trace rest as advised. Children will not be susceptible to infections because of adenoidectomy. There is a 5-10% chance for adenoids recurrence. That is why it is necessary to keep allergies under control
Dr coming Tuesday my son surgery will be done s.on manipal hospital...he suffered with sleeping problems ,ear infection n dark circle on his ear. I'm really worried how will he co-operate..pls give some advice for taking care n diet n recovery time...ur words will give me some relief sir
Hi, adenoidectomy is commonly done procedure. No need to worry. He will adjust well and your doctors will help him. Diet advise will depend on surgeries planned for him.
Hi sir ..thank you for your information lectures. My daughter has adenoids since 3 yr and now is is five. Doctor advised surgery. Tonsillectomy and adenectomy causes any side effects like changes of voice quality? Please explain
Hi, voice change should be expected. It is not a side effect. She will be speaking with her natural voice once she completely recovers from surgery. The nasal tone of the voice will be restored after surgery.
Very well explained.. my 5 year old daughter is scheduled for tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy at same time is it ok to do both at same time? Is it safe?
Dr Sinus, can this Adenoids disappear on it own naturally with medication and can you recommend medicines for the treatment? I hate surgery. Please advice. My boy is 7years old. Thanks.
Hi, adenoids can disappear on their own as long as allergies and recurrent colds are well managed. Kindly connect with a nearby ENT doctor for complete assessment and management.
Since last 2&half month my son was on treatment of fliticazon furoate spray and antihistamines but infectoin happen very frequently like once in a month

If possible plz do tell us what r the foods to avoid during this adenoid infection stage nd what foods to be given for the betterment of child ....that's my humble request.
My child has snoring and cough like chocking during his day and night sleep, ent doctor advised nasal spray, my question is how many days it will take to reduce the symptoms? Plz reply
Hi Doc, thank you for the video. I took my son to the Doctor about three months ago. He gave my 2 year old some medicine and sent him home. Since the symptoms did not disappear, i took him to the same Doctor again who just gave him meds and stated he is too your to undego surgery go remove his tonsils. What would you recommend I do at this point?
@@SinusDoctor1 the Doctor says his tonsils are swollen. That's the only thing he said. And upon the second visit, I asked the Doctor what should I then do should the medication not work again, given the fact that he stated my child needs to at least be 5 years of age for an operation. He just responded by telling me I should be optimistic and not negative. My son is now 30 months old. It's difficult for me to have a peaceful sleep at night because I'm always looking out for him.
Hi doc can I ask you why my daughter have cough after 2 weeks adenoids remove? Is that part of recovery or its complication of surgery?she also have badbreath after 2 weeks surgery 😢

How to manage the allergy doctor ? My 8 year old kid done adenotonsillectimy before 5 days.Doctor said that there was allergy while doing the surgery .she had running nose that time after surgery she us breathing well but still has stuffy nose and cough
Dear Sir, my son 5years old has to undergo Adenoidectomy surgery and ventilation tubes insertion. we are in border karnataka. Hyderabad is 8 hours journey. Is it safe/allowed to travel by road(car) after adenoid surgery after 2-3 days? Also what about air travel (flight) safe time after surgery?
Hi, many of my patients come from far off places from all over India. They are discharged the next day itself. They can travel by road. We suggest to avoid air travel for 1 month after surgery.
My son is 4 years old. He has been mouth breathing since oct 2022 and he is prone to frequent cold. We found that he has enlarged tonsils and his adenoids are normal as per the xray. Since a month he has developed obstructive sleep apnea and has difficulty breathing in his sleep. While we are waiting for ENT referral which may take 4 to 5 months for appointment in Canada, what is the best we can do in the interim.
Hi, OSA cannot be cured with medicines. Try making your child sleep on the side, feed him less dinner 3 hours before sleep, avoid sugary items and processed foods. Get him tested for allergies.
@roshini06, im glad i was able to see your msg, my child has the same condition and have seen a paediatrician, i got referred to ENT, however there is a waiting time here in canada u know. I was wondering were you able to sought out any solution and what ent suggested you and how is your child doing now, hoping all well on your end, anything you can suggest while iam waiting to see ent Thanks
Hi Doctor, My daughter recently had a adenoid surgery, but still her voice is not clear. And she is drooling..did adenoid can cause speech problem and tongue problem?
My daughter is 4.5 years old… she has enlarged afenoids and tonsils….she is breathing through her mouth and nose is blocked…and from the past 1 year she is having recurrent infections….doc advised to give her medications….. once the medications finishes after a week or two again the same problem starts…since 2 days she has ear pain what should i do
Doctor my son aged 10 years was asked to take x ray for tongue tie release. By the way doctor said that he has adenoids n need to be removed. But he does not have any of the symptoms except having recurrent cold. That too since 2 months of school vacation he had no cold at all. Plz suggest whether it has to be removed.
My son is 2 year he too suffering from nasal adeniods. When I was in uae 2 months he stop snoring he was to sleep longer time. When I came back to India he suffering cold started again. Is there any chances to go adeniods without surgery?
My three-year-old has enlarged adenoids and struggles to breathe at night. I am on a waiting list for surgery. I've started giving her elderberry syrup every day. I didn't notice much change, but I heard it helps. Then one night, she slept well, with no snoring and no issues. I thought back to what I had done differently that day.... Well, I added sea salts to her bath. The next day she was back to the same problem, not being able to breathe well, snoring etc... So I decided to test out the theory and added sea salts to the bath... And guess what... She slept like a baby again. I've been doing this daily because I've noticed it has helped. I also add eucalyptus essential oil (optional), but you don't need to; I'm just trying new things until she has her surgery.
@@monikasaini123 she is great, back to normal. Surgery is booked for the end of the year but her breathing is back to normal. I really do believe it is because I bath her in salt water. I've noticed she now breaths from her nose whilst she sleeps.

My 5 year old boy is on the waiting list for surgery he has no allergies only one nose is blocked the airway passage he always have cold flues, snoring restless sleep
Thank you for your appreciation. Your doctors will do what is best for him.
Any volunteer(s) and well wishers,, may God move your heart so that you can be a blessing to us 🙏😔
Hi, very happy that i could be of help. Please focus on allergy control and allergy medications and see how he improves.
Hiii...warm regards, i saw this vedio post my daughter's adenoidectomy.....must say u have explained it very well....a great guidance for parents reluctant to go for adenoidectomy....
Thanks a lot 🙂

My son 6 year old
Suffering with enlarged tonsils and adenoids
ENT Doctor suggested surgery
I was confused
Now clear
Thank you
Thank you for sharing your experience. Glad i could be of help.
Glad i could be of help 🙏
Very very informative, to the point explaination in language that lay man can understand
Thank you 🙏
Great explanation, this video answered all the questions I had. Thanks Dr.
Well explained. This is very informative. Thank you for taking the time to concisely and carefully explain this.
You're very welcome!
Thanks for sharing. You can meet a dental doctor and check if the teeth arrangement can be sorted but the rest cannot be changed easily.
Thank you so much for explaining with so much detail.
Glad it helped 🙏
Thank you very much sir, my daughter has swollen adenoids, i can now decide better
You are most welcome
I am now well-informed. Thank you Dr

Great Doctor .What numbing spray can one use after an Adenoidectomy.
Hi, we do not suggest any numbing sprays. We suggest allergy controlling medication.
And also add what to eat or do and what not to eat and do for these patients
❤❤❤❤
Hi, no adenoids do not require surgery unless they turn troublesome and do not respond to medicines. Focus on allergy identification and avoidance, medication.
Thank you doctor. We'll understood. Got the clarity in taking the decision about surgery for my child.🙏
Hi, glad the video was helpful.
Thank you for the information. My 6-year-old child will have surgery tomorrow. I was very nervous, but after watching your video, I am feeling relaxed. My sons have a cold, cough, sore throat, or sleeping issues. After taking x-rays, the doctor recommended surgery.
Thank you. Wish your son a very speedy recovery.
Pls how did the surgery go?
How did the surgery go? How long was recovery?
Very well explained..Thank you Doctor. My baby is scheduled for surgery next week
Hi, wish you and your child the best of health and recovery.
Very well explained doctor, thank you. Can you also share what are the downsides of removing adenoids? Does it affect the child anyways in the future? You were saying adenoids are first line of defense, if it is removed, would it cause more allergies, cold/coughs in the future?
Hi, no, adenoids functions are carried on by many similar functioning structures in our body

Hi, No, I did not encounter such problem in my experience.
Glad i could be of help 🙏🏼
This is Soo informative. My 3.9 is really suffering, doc has recommended this procedure but have been sceptical about it..thank you for this information
Sir well explained. If we remove for an autistic child..will autism along with speech delay improve ?
Hi, not directly. He will sleep better and this will lead to better outcomes.
Good explanation doctor. But, would appreciate if you can make a video explaining what is severity of symptoms, when we can wait and when should we go for the surgery. Because, surgery should not be done when it's not necessary,
Also please make a video how to medical manage gor grade 1 and geade 2.
It's with your explanation that I went for Fess and Septoplasty, and I'm thankful to you.

Thank you doctor my boy just finished the surgery now
Hi, wish him a very speedy recovery.
Hi. How is your child now? Is he okay after the surgery?
My son is 5 year old doctor recommended surgery . Is it fine to delay this procedure ? He’s having breathing problem during night and now this is also happening in day time .
Hi, if medications and allergy control does not help, surgery must be done.
Hello Doc, is it adviceable to allow a 5 months old undergo the surgery?
She has had her gall bladder removed at 2 years of age owing to a choledochal cyst surgery,
This is scaring my wife to no end thinking that this will be a second surgery and removal of 2 more body parts.
All the best.
very good explained

Dr. Pls my 9 year old son has been diagnosed with adenoids but because my daughter had complications after she went through tonsillectomy, we are therefore scared of going through the surgery, is it possibel he will be fine after some time.
Hi, I understand your concern. Please try medical management, but if it is not giving relief, you should not delay adenoids surgery.
Hi Doctor. Is Adenoids related with chronic sinusitis?
Hi, yes, adenoids can cause sinusitis.
Dear Doctor, thank you for explaining this very clearly; but I have one doubt. Is there any possibility post surgery the adenoid gland will reappear and the kid need to undergo surgery again; If this is so on what scenario it happens?
Hi, Thank you. Regrowth of adenoids occurs in 5-10% of post-operative cases, usually due to poor allergy management.

Thank you Doc .kindly please advise if removal of adenoids alone without tonsils being removed whether it can cause tonsils problems later in life
Hi, i have seen in my experience, tonsils growing in size after adenoids removal. These children needed a repeat surgery at a later stage as enlarged tonsils were causing snoring recurrence.
@@SinusDoctor1 sir.. does it mean .. both adenoid and tonsil has to be removed? if we remove adenoid by age 5 , does it mean ..tonsil will grow occupy that empty space ?
one doctor recommended a surgery another medical treatment (in one clinic). Which doctor's advice to choose ...
Hi, you can.try medicines and check for improvement in symptoms over a months time, if improvement is drastic, can wait or else proceed for surgery.
Hello Dr. Chaitanya Rao, thank you for the wonderful explanation. My 3-year-old son has some symptoms you have mentioned, and two ENT doctors of two hospitals in China suggest my son should have his adenoids removed based on the following:
Hi, you can try medication first and see how your child is responding.
Your child probably have asthma

Explained so well and complete information to help so many parents take informed decision. Sir, what to expect post surgery? Are children going to be more vulnerable to infection and is it possible for adenoids to reoccur?
Thank you. Post adenoidectomy, child will have to use medicines and trace rest as advised. Children will not be susceptible to infections because of adenoidectomy. There is a 5-10% chance for adenoids recurrence. That is why it is necessary to keep allergies under control
Thank you Doctor, for well explaining this condition
Glad it was helpful!
I am 26 years old.. I have grade 2 Adenioditis.. Do I have to go for surgery? I feel always nasal blockage. What are the risks of the surgery sir???

Hi, your child may be having allergies. Allergy control can help in reducing size of adenoids. Please meet your nearby ENT doctor.
Glad to hear your baby is doing well. As long is she sleeping soundly without mouth breathing/ snoring/ ear issues, you can try whatever works for her
