I don't let what's "in" influence me because I do what I feel looks good on me and what I feel is best for me...at that moment in my life. Our lives are lived in seasons and change is inevitable. I am an introvert and don't "play" to people...I hate the term and idea of "networking" because it's not genuine. In short...I'm not going to try to create a friendship all for the purpose of maybe needing that person as a connection...it's not genuine. I am real...I am honest and I am me! I applaud your freedom to be simply you! It shouldn't be any other way. We all will have victories, failures and mediocrities in our lives. It's fluid...it can change like the seasons. You really became an adult right in front of your audience and that's amazing. You started this channel under 18, making braiding videos for a hobby, then you turned this into a career, started a brand, had to put on many hats as a proper entrepreneur, of course you changed. You became more serious, maybe that's a sad facet of life, that the carefree teen is bound to die out and the adult who earns a living is bound to show the weight of that, but it's almost inevitable. We grapple with being true to ourselves, often stumbling even in our sincerest attempts. Yet, this year has illuminated a revelation: our essence remains intact. It’s refreshing to hear you speak your mind, I think you’re awesome Stella, hope you find peace and tolerance to deal with the people that make you believe what they said about worst part of working. It’s amazing that you care about henna. And you getting a buzzcut and also showing us your growth from a buzzcut makes me feel welcome, for some reason. 2023 also had a bit of unpleasantness due to annoying insecure, lying & mentally ill child-like people, a girl pulled on my hair and hit me around my body as she tore strands of my hair until they could take her away, I have mid thigh length hair, I love it long so it was so annoying and still is, for me, to have to deal with the loss and damage, so now there’s this whole regrowing I’ve to do and seeing your growth is great guidance and I also feel like I’m not alone if you buzzcut your hair. I did not buzzcut mine but growing out some pieces feels like if I had shaved, and maybe it was a bit like shaving, or even worse- like plucking the hair from the internal structure. Anyways. I recommend you don’t care about people who only care about harming you. My mistake was caring too much about worthless scumbag girls who are so insecure, not even they like themselves.

I'm 37 now and got my second buzz cut last week. The first one was in 2013. I don't regret it! I love it! I just lived something similar. Frustration about work and the end of a project I invested many years and efforts on, distance from friends who didn't care and the discover of my true, old, introverted self. And that's ok, it's a sort of liberation that I didn't expect anymore! I'm ready to be myself, finally. I wish you all the best, I really like your creativity and I'm learning a lot (I am a painter and what you do is inspiring), and I am almost convinced to turn to purple/blue hair next year! 😂

I remember watching one of your old videos, giving yourself a cute little bob a mirror and a razer machine. I loved the result and since corona started I have done my hair exactly like that and get so happy everytime. I’ve been amazed by the many transformations you’ve attempted over the past 2 years since I started watching your videos, and although I definitely have my favorite looks, you are blessed in that you seem to pull off pretty much all the styles you’ve tried. Probably a combination of good genetics/bone structure and the style choices you pair with it as far as makeup, contacts, accessories and outfits you seem to master the art of combining elements to accomplish a full look. I love the content you make and the fact that your aim now is to keep doing what you do for the love of it and that is very likely a key ingredient in why your able to pull off these different styles you wear the looks with confidence and thus the looks don’t wear you ❤
I think you looked incredible with a shaved head and not that many people can pull it off. I've had most of my head shaved before and it was hard to get used to. Also growing it out is a nightmare to say the least but I'm happy to say I experienced it. Love your videos stella 👌🏻🫶🏻💜
I shaved my hair. one year after that it was down to my shoulders and four months after that to my collarbone. you don't have to trim it for a year and just let the akward phase grow out. :) ❤

I had henna for years and the shine it gives is SO good. It's just so hard to mix it with anything else. I look forward to your experiments. At some point around when I turned 40, I suddenly just stopped giving a flying eff about other people's opinions of me, and it was so completely freeing. Like, I was being bombarded with things telling me that I wanted to look younger and skinnier and sexier and I was like, "Wait, I did that, I was young and skinny and sexy and honestly did not have a great time about it." And realizing that I didn't have to want what people said I had to want was such a gift.
Don't give up!!!! Big influencers (I know you hate the term!) who have brands like Laura Lee and Manny MUA have had brands for 10 years and they have yet to make a profit. You are an example of never judging a book by its cover. You're pretty on the outside but tough on the inside. That's awesome. Sounds like you've grown up and experienced some self-actualization. Keep being you and try not to feel compelled to be the person you feel like we want you to be!

My motto this year was 'Don't set yourself on fire to keep others warm'. A good motto for a people pleaser.
You really became an adult right in front of your audience and that's amazing. You started this channel under 18, making braiding videos for a hobby, then you turned this into a career, started a brand, had to put on many hats as a proper entrepreneur, of course you changed. You became more serious, maybe that's a sad facet of life, that the carefree teen is bound to die out and the adult who earns a living is bound to show the weight of that, but it's almost inevitable. I still hope you find balance in your work, so you can be more carefree again, so you won't cry yourself to sleep. At least you know yourself better now, and you can learn from your mistakes

After viewing the video, all I can offer is my heartfelt empathy. I believe everyone traverses such phases, where life is scrutinized, trust wavers, and despair looms. We grapple with being true to ourselves, often stumbling even in our sincerest attempts. Yet, this year has illuminated a revelation: our essence remains intact. Even when we don a mask, our true personality radiates through. These are merely diverse roles we assume in life, shaping us persistently and, in the end, becoming an integral part of our identity.

2023 also had a bit of unpleasantness due to annoying insecure, lying & mentally ill child-like people, a girl pulled on my hair and hit me around my body as she tore strands of my hair until they could take her away, I have mid thigh length hair, I love it long so it was so annoying and still is, for me, to have to deal with the loss and damage, so now there’s this whole regrowing I’ve to do and seeing your growth is great guidance and I also feel like I’m not alone if you buzzcut your hair. I did not buzzcut mine but growing out some pieces feels like if I had shaved, and maybe it was a bit like shaving, or even worse- like plucking the hair from the internal structure. Anyways. I recommend you don’t care about people who only care about harming you. My mistake was caring too much about worthless scumbag girls who are so insecure, not even they like themselves.

This was so incredibly heartwarming. I have similar feelings about feeling introverted and not a social person at all, and somehow, I've managed to have some little success in my own creative business this year. Lost friends but realized they were only holding me back so I'm ready to take on 2024 in a more balanced "me time" with less stress (*less people lol) and more creativity and fun at my own pace.

I got The pinkest Pink hair for a while like two years ago fulfilling one of my biggest wishes (even though I'm a college professor 😂) Everyone at Uni thought I was on drugs or deranged because you're "not supposed " to do those things to your hair in your 30's! I'm 37 now and got my second buzz cut last week. The first one was in 2013. I don't regret it! I love it! I just lived something similar. Frustration about work and the end of a project I invested many years and efforts on, distance from friends who didn't care and the discover of my true, old, introverted self. And that's ok, it's a sort of liberation that I didn't expect anymore! I'm ready to be myself, finally. I wish you all the best, I really like your creativity and I'm learning a lot (I am a painter and what you do is inspiring), and I am almost convinced to turn to purple/blue hair next year! 😂

I remember watching one of your old videos, giving yourself a cute little bob a mirror and a razer machine. I loved the result and since corona started I have done my hair exactly like that and get so happy everytime. It's never completely even or perfect, but it is beautiful and I'm so proud to do it myself. Keep doing your best ❤

I’ve been amazed by the many transformations you’ve attempted over the past 2 years since I started watching your videos, and although I definitely have my favorite looks, you are blessed in that you seem to pull off pretty much all the styles you’ve tried. Probably a combination of good genetics/bone structure and the style choices you pair with it as far as makeup, contacts, accessories and outfits you seem to master the art of combining elements to accomplish a full look. I love the content you make and the fact that your aim now is to keep doing what you do for the love of it and that is very likely a key ingredient in why your able to pull off these different styles you wear the looks with confidence and thus the looks don’t wear you ❤
I think you looked incredible with a shaved head and not that many people can pull it off. I've had most of my head shaved before and it was hard to get used to. Also growing it out is a nightmare to say the least but I'm happy to say I experienced it. Love your videos stella 👌🏻🫶🏻💜

I shaved my hair. one year after that it was down to my shoulders and four months after that to my collarbone. you don't have to trim it for a year and just let the akward phase grow out. :) ❤

At some point around when I turned 40, I suddenly just stopped giving a flying eff about other people's opinions of me, and it was so completely freeing. Like, I was being bombarded with things telling me that I wanted to look younger and skinnier and sexier and I was like, "Wait, I did that, I was young and skinny and sexy and honestly did not have a great time about it." And realizing that I didn't have to want what people said I had to want was such a gift.
