    We dug one of the Montgomery dumps got few Ala tags 1911, 1912 and 1913 out of the same hole, low number Ala porcelain car tags, found an early 1900's Jack Daniels Lynchburg, TN bottle and a BIRMINGHAM Jack Daniels Jug. I can show you a few dumps in Montgomery, Tuskegee, Opelika and Union Springs

    You should try one of those plastic gardening tools for removing dirt around exposed bottles.They work just as good as metal ones and don’t scratch up the glass. I use one and it’s saved many rare pieces from damage

    • @adamgoldbroach940
      @adamgoldbroach940 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I buy plastic cultivators from Walmart for like .99 each we dig with in softer dirt, if it is rock hard dirt we use the metal tools

    The jacobs pharmacy in Atlanta is where Coke started. It was served from the soda fountain at JACOBS ATLANTA. I have an Atlanta and an Alabama. From what I have read the bottles (At least the Atlanta for sure) are worth around 50 dollars. I'm keeping them so not an issue. I dug a dump site for an entire summer where there was a small mill and a farm house. Lots of good bottles and straight side cokes. Also some beautiful master ink bottles too along with the ink wells. Great hole guys and I love your videos.

    Several years ago we were canoeing on Choccolocco in Talladega County .We stopped to look around and my buddy found a mid 18th century blown bottle with the deep concave bottom . My brother and I was walking a plowed field looking for Indian artifacts , that had washed really bad and he found 2 17th century rum bottles . One has a snake scratched into it .

    • @adventurearchaeology
      @adventurearchaeology  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      ALABAMAHEADHUNTER Thats awesome! Thats some old stuff for around here!

    • @ALABAMAHEADHUNTER
      @ALABAMAHEADHUNTER 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      When they used to plow the fields it was not uncommon to find glass trade beads at some sites . You would always find pieces of rum bottles and trade pipe stems . Talladega is a very old town , there has got to be some old trash dumps over there . I would like to find one of them . Have you ever tried digging an outhouse or privy ?

    Get some metal horse hoof picks to use to dig around a bottle. They're small and strong.

    Let me tell ya about one of the coolest bottles I found ( there are plenty ,but I was 9 years old so imagine my excitement !) my father took me to a dump in NY state , now we are a little Irish grandpa came thru Ellis island as O’Farrell , they changed to Farrell ; I found a druggist bottle from O’Farrell’s pharmacy in Scarsdale NY ! Can ya imagine at 9 years old , I was HOOKED after that ( won’t tell ya how old I am now though lol

    I'm on 16 for lifetine hutchs. I was in a drought 2010-16, and broke it a ten minute walk from my house here in the country. I'm counting an M.R. se Sa with a sharp slugged in name as a bottle. It was in two pieces in situ. An amber H.I. I assembled 95% does not count, $2000- whole. I never found a porcelain sign that was not too shot. Have high hopes for a porcelain lic. plate.

    I wish I could do something like this in my yard I do dig every once in a while I find broken straight sided bottles and stoneware bottles so far I have found 5 clay marbles one of them being a shooter clay marble And every single bottle I dig up is shattered because of a house that burned downed in 1917 I also found a 1917 Mercury dime in very good shape and there is fire aunts but also Indian Head pennies everywhere It would be cool to dig down very deep and a hole like that but there is only a little layer in my yard and there is nothing else here:)
