While you focused on adult swim’s animated stuff, I think Joe Pera Talks with you is also worth watching. It’s humor and sincerity is very genuine, bummer it got cancelled though.
Joe Pera is definitely underrated. It would be on here but I wanted to keep focus on a few core shows. It definitely has a spot on a future top ten list.

Would it be petty of me to blame Rick & Morty for The Venture Brothers' cancellation? adults swim reruns R&M every damn night, and VB is lucky to play at least once a week. ATHF lost its magic on me by the time the movie came out, Xavier was too weird for me, Moral Orel didn't bring me in with its earlier episodes, but PRIMAL rocks and The Venture Brothers rules. And you're right, it's a LOT better than R&M; it looks better, sounds better, has smarter jokes about pop culture, and I get the feeling that its creators don't actively hate what they joke about OR whoever likes it. VB is Affectionate Parody (Thanks, TVTropes!) and R&M is more Mean-Spirited Satire.
For me, Adult Swim is ATHF, Sealab 2021, Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law, 12 OZ MOUSE, The Brak Show, Your Pretty Face is Going to Hell, Mike Tyson Mysteries,and my personal favorite, although being Cartoon Network mostly, is Space Ghost Coast to Coast. (aside from the one clip) but in a more serious note, i do sure beg rick and morty fans to look into [as]'s catalogue, and have an open mind about it, they have so many absolute golden hidden gems that get overlooked and or misunderstood, i heard people saying they will never watch XRA or Aqua Teen or 12oz mouse and even fucking Superjail because of their art style, basically giving up on shows they would've liked or atleast find amusing. anyways i find that Rick And Morty did bring [as] alot of money and that for me is great because it helps fund other, more avant-garde/weird shows, but in the other hand i find it kinda annoying how it overshadows everything on the network...

God, Venture Bros. was a show that took me a while to fully appreciate, I couldn't get into it early on, but after rewatching it, I love it. I don't necessarily dislike Rick and Morty, but I kind of feel tired of it, weirdly enough, it's kind of hard to describe. Maybe it doesn't help my dad is a big fan of the series though.

Primal is the only show you listed that I've not watched. Hard agree about the venture bros, and all of the others. I do really like the old experimental, low budget shows as well. But I was a hard core Jonny Quest fan as a kid, and VB checked my boxes from day one.
Watch the first episode of the 5th season. I dont think its lazy its one of my favorite episodes, i do slightly agree the shows gone slightly downhill, however i still think its worth watching:/ and i mean what show doesent have ups and downs? season 6 looks promising

As soon as I finished Metalocalypse Dethklok announced their tour and saw them live! Brendon Small is far more creative than Dan or Justin will ever be. Just finished up Venture Bros. Liked it, then season 3 hit and now it's one of my favorite shows.
Rick and morty is on the same level as Moral Orel for me, in that, I dislike them both, they feel to full of themselves, I’d say Metalocalypse would be in that list, as for after top 5, all I know is Mike Tyson is funny as shit, Squidbillies is funny as shit, boondocks is funny as shit and intelligent, smiling friends is funny as shit and full of creatures, and China Il is a fever dream that I find… wholesome in a way, I Rick and morty/morel Orel just fail to be serious, they try to heart to be either shocking and meaningful than anything else, it’s like those indie films where (making this up) a giant monster made out of penises and needles gives birth to a Honda civic branded with McDonald’s ads, and film critics and snobs cream over how deep it is, it’s messaging will be lost on most people because most people, even if they get it, just won’t like that. Or maybe it’s just my preference for dry, conversational humor and references that I like.

I watched Primal recently, it’s a good show. The episode called “The Red Mist” in particular was one of my favourite episodes of any show.
I liked Rick and Morty but after the 3rd season I lost interest. Became to mainstream and the episodes are just lazy.
