TH-cam DESC - THE DANCING bed trucks are making a comeback. Alex is the shop fabricator and foreman of Hoppos, one of the United States' premier lowrider customs shops, but his real passion is for the little-known world of bed dancing. This is when drivers install their trucks with jaw-dropping hydraulics that allow them to raise them high in the air, spin around and dance. Alex sees it as “an expression of one’s self.” Now with the craze making a comeback, Alex and his team are leading the charge with two generations of experience behind them.

I've never seen so many Nissan 720's in this day and age. You don't see too many of them on the east coast.
Nice to see Mini's making a comeback. I was in "Minis 'N Motion" truck club up in Lancaster, Ca. back in the late 80's. I had an '87 Toyota p/u & '88 Mazda 2200 both just dumped as low as legally possible (maybe slightly lower..LOL). Great times with the club and doing the truck meets, good clean fun, kept people out of trouble and people working (always needed cash for that next mod).
In high school graduated 1994, I had a 1989 Toyota with hydraulics on the suspension. I always wanted on the bed too. I built side tilt hinges and proceeded to drop the bed on my finger squishing it, My wife, then girlfriend drove me to the ER to get stitches. Oh the memories. I would love to have my old truck back the way that it was.
Brings me right back to my teenage days running the cruise in my home town In the late late 80's early 90's my home town of Redding California had a great cruise strip, there was always hundreds of people lined up and down the strip and those same trucks lined the parking lots and circled the strip.. we would hang at taco bell and the old underground mall parking lot that is until the cops came and made us leave lol. We would get a couple kegs of beer and put in the bed and camper of the mini truck and open the gate just enough to tap the keg. Good Ole days

Why the heck would they need to do that? Most Lowriders have amazing jobs, and are a positive influence in the community. They won't have to hide their license plate like common criminals!

Mines has a full sr20de swap Japanese motor,tranny,ecu and wiring hardness. I drive it ones a month if that..might consider selling it who knows.
So how does insurance work when a vehicle is that modified?
You can insure it with a special insurance ..!!!! They ask you how much would you like it insured for and then you pay a premium on the amount insured.

@@johnstone313 yeah I'm such a hater on a bunch of old dudes with mediocre trucks trying to relive their youth. Their trucks aren't even lowriders! They are mini trucks. Big difference! As for hoppos they only take well known clubs who are willing to throw down 10k on a hydraulic set up. Plenty of other shops and individuals out there who are way better than them that do better quality work
