One of my most terrifying experiences with the tusk thumpers was guiding the hacked drone during a bounty, and he just landed to the left of the drone and it scared the shit out of me.
Here's some tips I've gathered while helping out a friend farm Thumpers. 1. Slowva is one of the most convenient frames to use, being able to AoE slow a large area, making the Thumper nearly immobile and easy to shoot. It also prevents any retaliation damage, and makes the Thumper take double damage. 2. High Damage Weapons recommended, whether that be snipers, archguns, Voidrig, etc. You can also bring a Sarpa with Shattering Impact to strip the Thumpers armor, making for even easier kills. Personally, I like to use Voidrig. A fully modded Arquebex can easily take down even Steel Path Thumpers. 3. Force Spawning. It is possible to force spawn Thumpers, like force spawning Voms in Eidolon Hunts. The same method applies, but there's a much large pool of possible "events" per force spawn than at night. Things like Dargyns, or dropships, or kavats or ghouls can spawn in the marked Thumper spawn locations instead, but with enough patience you will be able to reliably get Thumper spawns instead of just flying and praying. 4. Nekros. Bringing along a Nekros, or multiple can greatly increase the loot per kill. There's only around a 60% chance for Desecrate to activate on the corpse per Nekros, so bringing multiple can bump those odds up. Bringing a Smeeta Kavat can also double your loot again if you get lucky. 5. Multiple Thumper spawns per instance. Only one thumper can be alive at a time, but you can get multiple spawns per instance of the plains. I've had back to back Thumper spawns happen before, which were really nice. Generally, I would refresh the plains after a max of 2 Thumper spawns. Generally farming Thumpers isn't the best thing you could be doing with your playtime, but if you really need a bunch of different plains resources, then you might want to try it out. They can also drop some high value mods, like Vigilante Supplies, or Auger Secrets that sell for a decent amount of plat.
Just go in with Zenurik and high damage weapons built for radiation (e.g. eidolon gear). Then just void blast him to slow him down and he's super quick and easy.
Funny. Today I faced a Tusk Trumpet and thought "Hey. I could farm this" and lo and behold, you give us this video. I would farm Bull/Doma for the Fists blueprint.
Thumper can spawn near hillside ruin sometimes, i got one or two spawn there while i was fishing down at the right corner of the map, i just don't know his spawn chance there
I don't have a specific loadout for hunting the thumpers. I just bring a redeemer prime built for radiation. i spam ranged attacks until I'm at 12x combo and then heavy attack the legs. I usually get through a thumper in under a minute if it doesn't hop around too much. Nova not only slows them down but also makes them take more damage and invisibility frames make the thumper less aggressive.
Loki's invis or Nova basically slows it to the point where u can almost kill a doma in 1 M prime use (depending on ur duration) and weapons only kuva quartakk did the job for me , pin point accuracy and high burst also god have mercy on poor souls that are farming Korrudo blueprint from doma .
A few tips for farming normal and steelpath thumpers for anybody interested *Bring a sarpa with shattering impact to strip all armour takes about 4 shots. *The voidrig's guard mode fully modded takes care of the legs quickly, about 6k a shot. *Bring a slowva to slow and double damage to about 12k a shot. *Use zenuriks temporal blast to slow the thumper if you have no nova/ are playing solo. *Only Nekros desecrate works on the thumper unlike any other frames loot ability. *Bring a smeeta kavat for chances at the double loot buff. Hope this helps a bit for the people struggling :)
im new to the game and i just kill it with my dual skana and loki :)) yes his stealth work really well it was really really hard with all of the random enemy around EDIT: The fight last for over an hour due to low level and mod
Nova with the Vectis and a strong secondary on the Amesha- slow and debuff it with m-prime then stop it completely with Amesha's 3, always worked well for me. Quite like the idea of big mech battles though :)
I actually had to take off mods from my arquebex because it did too much daamge too fast and the thumpers bugged out regularly. They allowed me to bring them down to 0 health on just one leg, making the other legs and thereby the thumper indestructible. Did it on the highest non steel path bounty. Instead of the usual 253k total damage on the arquebex i used like 70k and even removed the crit mods for it to not bug out frequently...
I will say, when you have a fully upgraded Necramech, Arquebex and weapon (I recommend the Mausolon as it’s basically a mini gun but others works just as well), even the Doma Thumper is a breeze, it’s just a pain in the ass with constantly jumping. Lol I would recommend farming the regular tusk thumper though with a Necramech as time wise you’ll get more resources for killing multiple normal thumpers than you will for killing 1 Doma version. Nice guide though. :)
So I was experimenting with different weapons on the thumper to see what kills this guy the fastest. I thought my new Torid incarnon would be the clear winner but I was badly mistaken. Turns out the Laetum shreds the Doma Thumper. You can't proc it's incarnon on the green lights tho. You have to proc it on the destructible plates. I went from 10+ minutes a run solo to as low as about 4:30 on good runs where he is in the flat parts of the plains and easier to track. Gonna try the Phenmor/Laetum combo after night is over to see if I can bring it down to sub 4 minutes. Hopefully this comment will help someone out with farming the mods that drop from the Doma Thumper.
I use the archwing Itzals cloak with a cedo... when you're airborne there's less chasing and if you land a perfect cloak he'll just sit there without moving, ample time to empty mag after mag rinse and repeat.
I feel like if i kill just about everything really fast I will start getting sick of it. I guess there really is an enormous amount of things to do and the list just keeps growing so it should be a while before I get sick of it. Im so glad I started playing it because I have nothing but time since getting around is pretty difficult for me.
prety sure the thumper legs are imune to explosion damage, probably why guard mode does so litle damage, the bonewidow may work better, not sure about this but if u can hit the leg weak points the same way u could hit the orphixs it should be prety easy
This would have been more useful with an explanation of the mechanics to take the tusk thumper down. It took me 2 minutes to find one, so you could easily make an update video explaining what to target and how to damage it faster.
the best way to kill tusk thumper doma ? equip redeemer prime with radiation heavy attack modding. use zenurik blast to slow it down and kill in 1 or 2 shot
I can kill these with a bit of work without a necramech. All you need is either Titania or Ivara. Titania in her pixie mode of death, build the dex pixia with radiation. ivara for stealth ofcourse and a nice rubico. Remember to slab on the silent mode and a energy pizzas.
Why farm Steel Path Thumper at all? It takes forever to kill, and extra resources are not worth the time. Just get the highest level bounty, any strong gun and a tough warframe. That's all you need. If you don't have some of that, try getting Buzlock (don't remember how to spell it). It's not OP, but it does have some nice stats all around, and has a neat targeting feature that makes killing lower level Thumpers really easy.
You know what I hate I hate that faction damage mods aren't aura mods or exilus mods you legit have to mod every weapon instead of just popping 1 mod in exilus or aura
i havent tryed this but try the other mech the widow one its sword has a weird effect on hitboxes like in the scarlet spear i wonder how it works on the limbs if it works the same it might do damage no matter the angle thats the main problem i have fighting thumbers is keeping the right angle when shooting i used to redeemer prime it but the aiming is hard.
im gonna call you volatile pup from now :P and why did you stop facecam vids they seemed fun im not forcing you to facecam if you are not comfortable with it
As a tip for rather low level players I've been able to kill the high level bounty one pretty fast with the xoris without nodding it too much or even putting a potato on it.
seriously? 8 minutes in and all you've said is that you dont know a super effective way to kill it and that it drops lots of recourses 5 times? wtf is this video
If you can't find the thumper just go fishing, it will find you
My least favorite way of finding one...
The whole damn zone lights up whenever you hook a fish. Shits annoying
Very very true
Yessssssss
Its soooooo annoying
Hi, 3 years later, and yeah, it still does that. Trying to fish for muskray, and I have to kill a thumper first almost every time.
I swear these only appear when you don't want to see them
it's always when your chillin n fishin
especially when you are drone escorting in a bounty xD
YEEES!! These fucker ruined so many Fishing sessions for me 😂
One of my most terrifying experiences with the tusk thumpers was guiding the hacked drone during a bounty, and he just landed to the left of the drone and it scared the shit out of me.
I loaded in a squad while they were fighting a thumper.
It was invisible
Thanks DE...
Oh, I see I'm not the only one to discover that.
All the time
That happened to me too
But I was nova so don't think it mattered

I recommend zenurik slow and then take mirage with rubico and u can melt him, also with the zenurik slow is great for the necramech method too.
Just go in with Zenurik and high damage weapons built for radiation (e.g. eidolon gear). Then just void blast him to slow him down and he's super quick and easy.
Ivara with Glaive Prime and navigator augment works well too. use zenurik void blast to slow the thumper a bit, and go ham with ivara 2+glaive
There are a few ways to slow the thumper, nova, rhino stomp, zenurik hand blast with the upgrade, etc....
The stropha is really, really good for it. Just heavy attack the legs and they get demolished
Funny. Today I faced a Tusk Trumpet and thought "Hey. I could farm this" and lo and behold, you give us this video. I would farm Bull/Doma for the Fists blueprint.

I use Archwing to fight it from 100+ meters and use my Rivened Lanka. Oneshots the limbs and plating. Profit.
This thumper dude is great to farm stuff thats locked in your current standing. Cuthol tendrils is a good one as a reason to kill them.
The comment I was looking for thanks bro

Great vid bro and Keep it up!
i tend to use the archwing or titania...

You can use the buslok my friend tried that and if I remember properly, it worked.
i just use chakkur and a tank, brute force that deformed turtle looking things
Imo Atlas with redeemer prime is really good for this. As long as you stay on the ground thumper can't do anything to you
I literally just started looking for guides of this xDDDDD
I use the archwing Itzals cloak with a cedo... when you're airborne there's less chasing and if you land a perfect cloak he'll just sit there without moving, ample time to empty mag after mag rinse and repeat.
What Cedo build did you use?
I do the same but using Rubico
I'm not mr 12 so I can't get Rubico Prime :(
@@needless2048 Vulkar works too, it may take an extra shot or two.
@@-Buckarooz The regular Vulkar? With what setup?
Use zenurik blast to slow it down tbh i use cedo/stropha just to one hit the thumpers legs of course a good sniper like rubico prime would be stronger
Recommend using mag for the amour striping power, so much faster
And they say mag is trash...
Literally just killed this bad boi with my Necramech 😂
I feel like if i kill just about everything really fast I will start getting sick of it. I guess there really is an enormous amount of things to do and the list just keeps growing so it should be a while before I get sick of it. Web canister with Necramech slows the bastard down
Love the viss pupsker

Rhino with roar and redeemer can kill these easily and also iron skin resists knockdowns
The promised video
the best way to kill tusk thumper doma ?
equip redeemer prime with radiation heavy attack modding. use zenurik blast to slow it down and kill in 1 or 2 shot
Love that South Park easter egg
Nice fashion there man!
:)
I literally just use my accelatra with loki and equinox
I've never properly managed to farm it, but I don't recommend bringing shotguns to fight it at all lol
Try redeemer eidolol build i one shotted it lol
I've easily killed a high level tusk thumper with my operator might need to be good friends with the Quils/Duck first doe
Granted that thumper was lvl 95 definitely not the standard levels, if it where the 16-22s it would go down like cake at a birthday party
I usually just stealth with a rakta cernos with a good riven heavy damage but I don't know an actual efficient way to do this.
I'm no where near being able to farm these myself. I run like a girl when these come around PoE.
I can kill these with a bit of work without a necramech. All you need is either Titania or Ivara. Titania in her pixie mode of death, build the dex pixia with radiation. ivara for stealth ofcourse and a nice rubico. Remember to slab on the silent mode and a energy pizzas.
Slowva
Its real easy:
Zenurik or Slowva
Redeemer or high dmg weap
Damage buffs if weapons not strong enough
Cheese it with archwing just fly up and hover right above it, if you aim just right on the legs you can still get the hitboxes
@@practicallyprinz did that once. Ran outbof ammo real quick and had no ammo pizzas
Is churrka and loki or ivara. Churrka can one shot legs with the armor still on it and you can go invisible to find the other legs
Nova is nice for this
Use ivara and stay invisible with her bow she does good damage and it doesn’t react
You know what I hate I hate that faction damage mods aren't aura mods or exilus mods you legit have to mod every weapon instead of just popping 1 mod in exilus or aura
The arquebex can 1 shot the thumper's legs
Excalted blade of excalibur is op for this
Can you only find them during the day?
For newish players, using a Hek and rhino can make life easier. Use iron skin and stomp.
Use the arquebex. 1 shots each leg
How long does it take to respawn?
nova with lanka and sapra
I use ash to go invis and strip armour and a sniper
i havent tryed this but try the other mech the widow one its sword has a weird effect on hitboxes like in the scarlet spear i wonder how it works on the limbs if it works the same it might do damage no matter the angle thats the main problem i have fighting thumbers is keeping the right angle when shooting i used to redeemer prime it but the aiming is hard.
Nova+ necramech best farming method. Slow it then hop in ur mech for ez w's.
Yo pupsker my notifications work
Pog
When i was playing i remember i used slowa and rubico And everything one shot ez
"Arquebex" not "Arbequex"
Lol the first time a thumper came at me i screamed and it f me
How to build that robot pls teach me 🙏🙏
Tips : Use Slowva
Nova + redeemer or stropha modded for heavy attack. eez
Can you do a Deimos one
Anyone want to be friends on warframe that have it on Playstation ?
im gonna call you volatile pup from now :P and why did you stop facecam vids they seemed fun im not forcing you to facecam if you are not comfortable with it
NOVA + Redeemer =easy farm
I do same method and I killed him in 1 or 2 min it's great idea
Bruh they NEVERRR spawn
Go fishing and they will
As a tip for rather low level players I've been able to kill the high level bounty one pretty fast with the xoris without nodding it too much or even putting a potato on it.
It is not fun to fight these guys with the rubico
seriously? 8 minutes in and all you've said is that you dont know a super effective way to kill it and that it drops lots of recourses 5 times? wtf is this video
I luv u
Use Redeemer = Thumper dead
Not first
1st
I think Radiation is its weakness. Had best luck with Nova(slow) or Rhino(duration stomp) and rad Rubico prime or catchmoon
