I like to think it’s Gordon himself, abit of a meta take on how Gordon’s model in the pilot was used for set dressing in scrapyard scenes! Really good story :)
Or a continuation of, "A part of me stayed behind."
@@joshuabrown6791I dont think so bc that’d imply that there was another body for him alr when they were made after the accident at the mines. And there wouldn’t be a reason for Gordon’s original body to be in the smelters yard bc they were left there bc of the dangers of the mines
It’s probably one of his siblings. We did hear he had siblings.
16:37 “He’s just standing there… MENACINGLY!”
I love how this story is open to interpretation. Maybe the engine was one of his brothers? Maybe he was a failed prototype of Gordon? Or maybe he was something else entirely.
Whatever the answer is, Gordon will likely take that secret to his death.
my guess, it's the failed prototype who's plans became the basis of Henry's old shape.
This... was one spooky story. The whole bit of Gordon looking at that scrapped engine felt like a reference to A Part of Me Stayed Behind.
That also came into my head!
Sorry I didn’t comment sooner, but this was definitely a real spooky story there. I like to think that that engine was probably one of Gordon’s brothers, but was a failed prototype when they were first built. Though judging by the comments, it might also be Gordon’s former shell somehow.
Either way, excellent work on this, Joe!
that failed prototype could have also been the one Henry's old shape was based on too.
Even though Horror of the Rails is over, you always know how to make and tell some amazing spooky stories.
It is?
@@matthew_natividad This story is NOT part of the Horror of the Rails series as it ended last year.
Why did horror of the rails end
I'd like to think the scrapyards warps into whatever dark past an engine has had. For Stepney's, it was being caught and almost scrapped by two unknown diesels, while gordon's was seeing the ghost of a lost relative, or he's early prototype design. Great video by the way ! Loved the editing.
I like your idea the only thing that's got me confused is you have to remember one of the diesels pushed Stepney in now if they are just a figment of is imagination that means stepney was never pushed he moved on his own. But that idea was kicked to side after Thomas and The Magic Railroad and we went back to the engines having drivers and fireman. Unless the engines still have the ability to move on their own but they choose not to due to regulations.
After watching the video I came to a conclusion, but first I will give my explanation so you understand.
Gordon is the prototype of the A1, seeing the memory of him realizing who that rusty locomotive was, can help us understand that Gordon was not the only prototype, why do I say this? because how Gordon acted.
After rewatching this many times, it's either implying that the scraped engine is Gordon himself (going for a reference to "Part of me stayed Behind" or this was the prototype A1 that failed to work and was sent to scrap after Gordon (the improved version) was built
Either way, this was a good story
That's my take, that it's Gordon's older sibling that failed and was cut up for scrap. Makes me feel very sorry for that engine if that's the case. I wonder why it came up to Gordon then. Was it happy to see its little brother? Angry? Sad?
@@shimesu443 Who knows? Could have been a variety of emotions considering Gordon showing up to the smelter's yard due to a job was completely by chance.
If it's the latter in that it's the nameless older sibling that never got the chance to live the life that Gordon, Scott, and the others would due to being "the failed prototype" maybe the entire encounter was just it wanting to interact with one of it's siblings for the first & last time, along with having one of them remember it so they, at least, don't be forgotten before it left to who knows where
I think its both... but I also have a feeling that it became the Killdane Experiment/Halloween Engine...
@@SpaceDetectiveTravis That's a very good take. Of course, that just makes me feel sadder for the poor thing. A lost soul, reaching out to lost family, hoping to not be forgotten.
@@shimesu443 this failed engine's plans would eventually be stolen and become Henry's old shape.
I think the engine is one of the loaned engines from the early days of the NWR, perhaps 87546 or 98462, or maybe it's what's left of Dudley.
(even though in one of my headcanons, 98462 was killed in a wreck while Dudley and 87546 were withdrawn from service in the early 60s and sent for scrap)
Wow. What a story. It really is.
I love how this turned out. The pacing, the photoshop scenes, the music, and how the characters are like. Mainly Gordon.
That part with Gordon and.....who that engine may be kinda reminds me of A Part of me Stays Behind in a way. Also I'm wondering what music was used there during that sequence.
This is a fantastic spooky story here. Well done on it! And I hope you have a Happy Halloween!
Am I the only one who thinks that the scrapped engine Gordon encounters is the one from the episode ‘Halloween’? It probably isn’t but just some food for thought.
That one was 2-10-0
I like the implication that 'Arry and Bert might actually be supernatural beings that reside in the scrapyard and might not actually be real engines that work there.
Topham might be right to be very nervous about that place...
So does this mean that Gordon was built out of a failed scrapped engine?
Who knows?
well given gordon was an A0, and in the story of him meeting scotmans, he told him he also got a rebuilt, that wasn't true to there maker's design, but it served. So who knows.
Fun fact: red light can make you feel things, anger, nervousness, irritation but mainly anxiety.
It might have been Gordon’s old shell
It maybe Gordon himself, or a sibling, however I like to think that it was all in his head. Either way Gordon will never say who that was
I have a theory that that is actually Robert the devil or Pretty Polly dead corpses and Gordon recognizes them
You know, I almost scared myself after that engine without a face.
There's some strange things supernatural in the scrap yard
i think that gordon had a twin but when they where completed gordon was the only one to wake up
I love it! The story is spooky and amazing.
Cool story Joe.^^
Yours are just like my parents would write it... If they'd ever done it. Quality, spirit and thought.
😁
That was pretty screwed up. But if I was Gordon then I would've told the other engines the truth about my brother.
what if the scrap engine is the 1920 draft of the a1 before gordon and was scrapped soon after gordon was built
I love this story! I feel like the engine Gordon saw was himself sort of like in A Part of Me Stayed Behind
WOW another amazing story PLEASE DO MORE OF THESE STORIES but maybe you could do a story like this about Bertie The Bus Because in the model series the episode where Thomas meets Bertie you can see busses siting in the shed but we never know who they are
It’s like Horrors of the Rails never ended.
I really love this story. I’m not a huge fan of scary stories but this one is great. I have a little theory:
I think that engine that was in front of Gordon was the engine that went down the mine. And maybe at some point off screen it was sent to the scrap yard and got scraped at some point. Maybe Gordon was seeing the scraped Gordon that fell down the mine.If that makes sense. Anyways I Love this story so much ❤❤❤❤
This reminds me of A Part of me that was left behind
Sorry to be a stickler, but may I ask?
Do you pronounce "Resurrected" as rezurrected or resurrected?
That was a real good story! And Happy Halloween!
17:28 given the shot is closing in on an engine next to Gordon, I think the scrapped engine is one of Gordon’s brothers that he forgot about. Thus, the title of the story.
i like to think that this engine became henry's old shape basis as it's plans were stolen and Henry was built from them.
Telling the truth? Since when does Gordon ever own up to his fears. Either way, it’s deserved here. If the rusted engine wasn’t him, then it had to be one of his brothers.
probably the one who's plans were stolen and became the basis of Henry's old shape if we're going by the "Failed Prototype" theory.
But then that would mean the engine was old shape Henry
Yeah...?@@Jaytotea
My own take on this, Gordon wasn't the only prototype, but there was actually a second. There were some problems or other with the second engine, so the other engine was decommissioned, and they used parts from it to help complete Gordon. Gordon himself never really knew anything about it, that is, of course, until now. At least, that's my take.
"A part of me stayed behind" in S5 but if it was written by Narrow Guage?
Rezurrected Memory - Audio Production
Pretty spooky tale here.
Maybe gordon had another brother who worked on sodor before him and something must have happened to him 🤔
I think maybe that that scrap engine was Gordon’s old body.what if he got into an accident and had to be entirely rebuilt like Henry however Gordon losses his memorys
This scared the shit out of me. This was good
17:26 Spoilers:
Gordon: “Oh… My… God…. YOU’RE MY TENDER?”
Ghost: “Are you serious?”
Lol
10:29 why dose this look ai. Generated
I think the ghost was Gordon's younger self.
Wow that’s some story, very scary and even terrifying and it nearly made me in horror for a while anyway
Who was the engine??
one of Gordon's brothers probally
Great story as always.
I have a theory that the 2 unknown diesels (Likely Arry and Bert) aren't really engines, but as the demons from hell, transformed into diesel engines to take the souls of the steam engines. That would've been a good storyline for this series
Why would they take innocent steam engines to help?
I love how they were implying Arry and Bert were Ghosts
In order to understand who this engine is, we must understand what Gordon is.
Since Flying Scotsman is is canon, as is Great Northern, I present that Gordon is number 1471, Sir Frederick Banbury. Still older than Scotsman, but not causing timeline issues if he were Great Northern.
As to who this is... yeah I still don't have an answer. :I Maybe Great Northern was just having an off day.
Late to the party, but this was amazing. Awesome job as always NG, keep up the spooky stories. Can’t wait to see what you have in store for October.
and so, it begins. time to shit myself at the end. I'll tell you all if I do.
Who is Gordon the only a0 or was he the only one of those kind because I know Israel’s was he was the prototype, but was there another prototype for him know Henry is technically part at one, but that cannot be him. What is the brother of his that long forgot about navy that was that and a one that wasn’t completed or just a zero that was still in the process, but then they just abandoned us and I served all the eyes to Gordon. Is that what happened or do you not know yet?
Amazing work
Young and green.
Henry lmao
Awsome Work You Made There
*Just like old times…*
Who thinks that particular scrapyard is haunted
I guess so. (But remember this is fiction)
one question. what happen to your old videos about Sidney?
Damn that was good
Good Work With The Video.
I like the cliffhanger
Did Gordon say a prototype brother that was scrapped?
13:59 Scared the crap out of me.
Hmm, I mean he said that he remembered an engine facing away from him that was silent and still and that no one was paying it attention. My best guess is that it was the actual first prototype but had so many issue’s the LNER scrapped it and pretended it never happened. I guess the engine came to see its brother one last time
Expiration: Gordon get scared by his prototype
Reality: Gordon screams like a ten years old pigtails girl by his prototype.
This is what I thought of inside my mind. 😂
What is the ghost engine's name?
Wonder what this could be
could that have been gordon's twin brother?
Let’s see are they scary
Series 5(1998)
Narrated by:Alec Baldwin
Directed by David mitton
Happy Halloween everyone.
Incredible
why is the audio so quiet?
15:50 What's the Piece of Music Called Here?
Hey Joe. Could I make your take on the two Henry’s theory canon in my AU? I’ll give credit.
I think that the scrap engine was a failed prototype of Gordon cinde of like shed 17 mines the human turned into taking coo coo train element
Don’t talk about that stuff here
"We don't do that here."
I thought at first that the engine was the Killdane experiment!
Gordon's twin?
I don't get it
Was the scrap engine the same one from his memory?
Let's call him Bill
I think something such as either Jeroboam, Solomon or Manasseh would be more appropiate due to their regal sound
All Scrapyards are personalized
Is this a new episode for horrors of the rails?
Edit: whats the name of the song that’s playing at 19:30
No, that series is long over and done with. This is more likely just a special story for Hallowe’en.
@@TARDIS9awww man i really loved that series
@@Cassertteme too man but 22Tesla is a worthy successor i’d recommend watching his Tales From The Scrap Sidings stories
@@InfinityRed520oh i know about that, i love that series
@@Cassertte that’s good
What did the engine say to Gordon?
So if Arry and Bert either weren't really there or were supposed to be somewhere else at the time, why did they appear there?
