The only problem and I mean the only problem I see with your videos is it that people are going to get greedy and not share them because they don't want anybody else to know the tricks. LOL I say this from experience because Corner fighting was my forte. My only problem back in the eighties was I used to put my head down and body punch. That's how I got the name "Becky the Bull" LOL and the great thing was they didn't know how to get out of the corner! The joke was getting the ring with me today and you'd be peeing blood tomorrow. I would not have wanted my opponents seeing your videos LOL but since I'm no longer fighting I always share your videos. You are the best instructor. Have a great one man God bless you!
Brilliant lesson. I have always studied Soviet amateur school of boxing since I’m from Russia. But American professional style of boxing gives me total view for understanding such a great art as boxing. I use your tips and tricks as well in my sparring sessions. Thank you coach for sharing your knowledge through the distance.
9:56 Loading that back leg made me think of Rocky Marciano. Rocky would throw shots with the intention of missing to load up his follow up shots. I wouldn't be surprised if he was anticipating or baiting head movement when he had guys against the ropes for some offensive purpose. He did it twice against Walcott. Foreman was also a perfect example of all these things. He would switch up on guys and lead with his right if they tried to pivot out off the ropes. He was able to force Ali to fight off the ropes in their fight.
Now you have to make a video on fighting on the outside with someone using these tactics. The taller fighters need them to regain the initiative and center of the ring
WOW, That was Priceless. I found myself smiling as the information just kept on coming. People buy courses and go to gyms for months even years and still not get as much detail. All I have to do now is translate and apply it to southpaw mode. Thank you Sir (Southpaw, Southpaw, Southpaw)
Best explaination of cutting over the ring! Like how you taught how to use all 5 components! I was always just taught the footwork. Thanks a bunch a Coach! I will practice this ASAP!
Coach Tom, I knew your Sunday morning video would be special but it surpassed my expectations. Your channel deserves all the praise it gets and then some more! What else can I say- you're simply the best coach out there and every video proves it again and again! Period!
Another thing to add for practicing! You're the man coach! Still trying to be smooth with the drills and perfecting the jab hope to send you a vid soon. Much love from Manila!
this is such an amazing video. Lots of things that I have overlooked all these years. Details and strategy to keep the pressure on when u have control.
As a companion to this, could you discuss the purported advantages of controlling the center of the ring? Or perhaps how to lure opponents (who aren't good at cutting off the ring) into following you and setting traps for them?

Good Shit.
A left back hand is useful too trainer
Expensive stuff just for free?? Thank's a lot COACH😁
Like GGG does
Hi Tom just wondering how many fights you have had?
When doing it y out also want to make sure your not walking into a punch
Reminds me of GGG!
how do you beat Deonte Wilder?
The Russian coach who also uses cutting the pie to cut the ring off by switching from orthodox to Southpaw to cut the ring it’s quite effective
Yes I will cover this technique in an instructional I’m going to do on switches and shifts.👍🏼
The kids you coach are so lucky
! Dope!
💯
Old school stance is to put 60% weight oon back foot
