worked for me, told me what to do what i need to work on and finished with instilling some confidence in me, and honestly changed my entire outlook and how I spar, love these videos, Best coatch with the best coatching style!
Very cool coach! Thinking in terms of 3 letter u's with the option to bob whenever is awesome! Remembering to punch on the slip is gold too. Often I get locked into "taking turns". Very helpful, I can't wait to implement!
So if im right in relaying what you were saying about the left hook all the kinetic power for the left hook should just be coming from the the hip to the knuckle and not the ball of the foot to the knuckle? Doesnt shortening the chain this way make the punch less effective? I can still get knockout power pivoting on the foot with the left hook especially because im 5’10 with long legs and a wider stance. when i sit down on the left hook im working inside range, probably still pivot for a liver shot after shifting to the outside of a jab. Edit: grammar
Thanks for the comment! I am absolutely for twisting the lead foot with the lead hook, but I'm not big on over slipping to the lead side to set it up! At the end of the day you can have power as long as your timing of the, the am of the punch and you have some bodyweight behind it
Man speaking of pulling, that guy Johnny tapia was a guy that made me realize how viable and great it works. If you watch his highlights he hits that a lot to get out of the way of hooks
COACH!!!!!!!!!! how do i increase my dip & weave speed? Ive been doing themr alot recently to get it faster but im just wondering if you have any other drills or exercises i should do to increase my weave and dip speed. Thanks
I heard its best to not wait for the punch to slip but instead keep in motion with head movement which is easier but how to stop accidentally moving into a punch?
That's partially true. It is good to anticipate counters and move the head often and then it is important to move the head with punches and at certain times as well. That would be a good one for me to expand on!
You mean using your hands and shoulders? Because it's even less committal, opens up other counters and is frankly easier against certain guys then trying to move your head in every head shot. It's all trade offs! Great question!!!
hope we never run out of these long form specific content videos. No one else makes it like this channel

That’s exactly what helps me, i keep my head moving all the time. For amateur fights its not that hard to move for 3rd, pro is different story.
I’m a 48 year old just starting out boxing. Wish I started as a kid. Bloody love it !
