Trains at Doncaster - 16th June 2023 (CLASS 60 CLAG)

A very early summer morning at Doncaster gives us a chance to see some of the less-photographed movements that occur, both passenger and freight. Intercity services from the north head for London in the hands of LNER's 'Azuma' and Intercity 225 fleets, while commuter services by Northern are a mix of veteran BR, post-privatisation and 21st century multiple units and CrossCountry have upped their offerings after the May timetable change.
On the freight front, GBRf Class 60 60021 'PENYGHENT' clags its way through the centre roads, a Colas Class 56 makes a spirited getaway heading for Toton, and GBRf and DB 66's ply their daily trade.
