At home haircut - chopping my hair into a long blunt bob

- I chopped my hair off yesterday and I don’t regret it! I was definitely nervous as you can tell in the video but it’s something I’ve wanted to do for awhile and I’ve been seeing cute long bob haircuts everywhere lately egging me on.
Cutting your own hair is so satisfying, especially when it’s a big hair chop like this one. I’m excited to see a professional tomorrow to get it touched up and colored tomorrow. I’m sure it’ll look 100x better than doing it myself.
If you are itching to chop your hair off, I say do it! It grows back anyway and you can always get it fixed (or wear a hat if worst case scenario).
Some tips for an at home haircut (from a non-professional):
1. Use high quality scissors. These were from a hair cutting kit and they were still not super sharp
2. The back will probably not be even and mine kind of comes to a point because I cut the hair in front of me.
3. It helps to put it in pigtails to hold the hair together when cutting- but as you saw in the video it was still not foolproof.

I'm a cosmetologist/beautician, NO, part it how you are going to wear it. If you wear a side part, do exactly as she did. The way she did it allowed for her side part.
@@bethford6884 With a middle part you can wear it any way you like with eveness and balance. Parting it how you wear it, you'll look lopsided if you ever style it differently.
I'm a human with an understanding of symmetry. I learned this from a bad haircut when I was 8.
