Dude I love custom roms on old android devices especially with light gapps and no bloat it feels very snappy to use on old devices. I had a galaxy s5 with lineage os in high school and I used that thing for 2 years, was the best $40 I spent to get the latest android os and I never had any lag or battery drain issues. Crazy how 10 year old phones and tables can use youtube and instagram and tiktok without issues yet people buy the latest iphone for $1000 every 2 years. Sucks you werent able to get google apps working because the few times I did it with twrp I never had any issues. Maybe the rom doesnt work with latest gapps version or something

Anybody who spends 1000$ on a phone is insane in my honest opinion. I spent that much on my full blown desktop PC. I also never buy the latest generation of any product; usually the previous gen isn't that much worse but it costs way less to buy.

Payment or banking apps need a lot of tweaking to work. OnePlus used to be the goat for custom roms back then.

Cannot connect Tab, ODIN does not find it. Windows 11 USB Controller sais (in German): Unbekanntes USB-Gerät (Fehler beim Anfordern einer Gerätebeschreibung)
Samsung USB driver ist installed.
Do you have any idea what is missing?

Solved! Setting back to factory defaults seems to be prerequisite. After doing so, it works!

Yes i did. In your gapps it says the package is corrupted. Not abel to open. So I took the 31.12.2024 Release of NikGapps-basic-arm64-13-20241231-signed.zip from NikGapps Website.

No, you will need it. You could run Windows in a virtual machine, that’s a possibility.

I would say go for Android 12L, it runs pretty well on that tablet. I don't know about Android 14.

Yeah and it also runs it decently well. Samsung left it at version 8, that's such a joke.

There's an even older Samsung tablet (Tab Pro 8.4 from 2015) that originally ran on Android 4.4 KitKat, but supports Custom ROMs up to Android 14. I have one, but unfortunately it has a very annoying reboot problem that I don't know how to fix.

I disagree. Samsung abandoned this tablet long ago at version 8. Thanks to the community it can go all the way to 14. That makes it a lot more useful nowadays.
