I am in Albufeira right now. Am in my last week of a five week stay. This is our fourth visit and the weather has been the best ever. Sunny and 22 or more every day. 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦lots of Canadians here in January, February and March escaping the Canadian winter. Lucky us!

I just came back from Albuferia loved it. We stayed in the old town and your lovely tour to me back to my month stay there. Hope to get back there next year. We rented a large two bedroom two bathroom condo with large kitchen, balcony and washing machine, pure heaven.
This very day a year ago, right this moment, My sister and I were supposed to be checking into our little apt. rental in old town Albufeira. When got cancelled we said okay we will do next year , so much wishful thinking. Looks so beautiful. Thank you, your video is as close as I am going to get again this year.
You definitely are a wonderful couple. Trough this video I felt transported to Albufeira walking on those streets without actually being there. You provide nice and clear explanations of your every step along your walk. Definitely a fan.

Great video to watch in these troubled times. In 1984 there was no escalator, when you climbed the steps the time share touts were waiting for you. Incidentally there were fishing boats on the beach at that time.

I’m bringing my teenage kids to Albuferia this summer and after I booked found out it is the party capital of the Algarve. Delighted to see where the strip is, and glad it will be some distance from our apartment. Hoping to use buses and taxis while there. Great to have the walkabout for reference because in the summer heat, it could be too hot to explore everywhere and good to have an idea of directions.

Hello! I am from Portugal, but I don't remember Albufeira being that big. I remember when it was a lot small, and I use to go to the beach there. Well, I have been leaving in the United States for 43 years now, so it is very different from how I remember it. Thank you for the tour of this place.

@@hollyrichardson9728 It would be easiest and quickest to take a transfer from a private transfer company. The Albufeira train station is not in Albufeira but in Ferreiras 6km away. The bus does come into Albufeira but you would need to get from the Faro Airport to Faro downtown to catch the bus. Hope this helps.

Portugal has been nice we have been up to 22°C with overnight lows at 8°C but it’s the vivid blue sky we absolutely love. Hope you are having a good time and wish you both a great weekend.

Hi Chris we are now back home and enjoying the high winds and -14 with you , in fact today looking out of our appartment window we went from whiteout conditions to sort of blue sky and sun in minutes . That's said I got to congratulate you guys as you guys are what people should be doing on TH-cam in short. Your channel looks good you always have great content you're great on camera and it shows in the views and you know what you're making our country proud and keep up the great work! I've been to every country from Iceland all the way down to Switzerland and I'm missing Italy, Monaco and of course Portugal so I am going to live vicariously through you guys for a little bit but I have to get there soon so I can finish them up. 👍 Nice video. My god! Almost no matter where one travels the American fast food joints have there foot in. I am surprised how many Indian restaurants are there. And Chinese too! I can’t imagine myself going to Portugal and seeking out Chinese food. Thank you for the insight. I know locals will likely seek them out though perhaps more than tourists. Looks like a great place to visit.
Good morning TFW as well as local restaurants there are lots of Chinese and Indian restaurants there. A lot of visitors are from England where Indian food is huge so they are catering to them, also lots of Irish pubs too. Many restaurants all do the famous English breakfast 🍳 which is hugely popular , guess people like that homey feeling. Have a great weekend 👍🍺🌺

We've visited and stayed in many places in Portugal. Lisbon twice, Madeira Island (interesting but would never go back), Lagos but never made it to Albufeira. It is bigger than I expected. Lagos is much smaller. We are hoping to go to Portugal again this winter for 3 months if the travel restrictions are lifted and will be applying for an extended stay visa. Not sure where we are staying so I love your videos when you travel to different towns. Bom dia!
Like you we have travelled to a lot of places in Portugal including Madeira, Sao Miguel, Terceira (Azores), Lisbon, Porto, Sinatra, Cascais, Fatima but not the North East. Albufeira has a reputation of a wild party town in summer but winter is a totally different story, quieter and an age demographic that is more grey hair 👨🦳 lol We chose Albufeira as a base to explore and film The Algarve because it’s in the centre of The Algarve and easy to travel west and east plus lots of choices for accommodation. Let’s hope travel can resume soon, we have not made any plans for this winter yet. Enjoy your time there and thanks for watching our videos.
Love your videos (recently retired Canadians). I am curious in how you go about finding a place to stay in the Algarve. We are currently looking at the Vilamoura/Quinteria area but I am not so sure I like the idea of using Air BnB or VRBO at the moment as their cancellation policies are horrendous for long term stays when you take COVID into consideration. Thanks in advance.
We hear you recently we have heard that cancellation polices have changed we have found that finding a place and contacting them direct is a great way to start .With Covid we are hearing that lots of places aren’t reopening for business if you go on to Booking com they don’t even allow the dates for next year .We wish you good luck we would love to go back to Portugal 🇵🇹 next year but with the government travel site advising no non essential travel we wouldn’t be covered for travel Insurance so might have to wait a year. Thank you once again for the interesting walking tour. I see alot of commercial growth , but this is expected in a European tourist town. Have you been fishing, boating or swimming as yet? That would make a lovely film. Enjoy. If you have noticed we Portuguese pave everything. Many of the towns in New England with large Portuguese populations do the same. My family never did this but were very talented stone masons, ship builders, navigators, fine wood workers, etc. Have you had kale soup yet?
It sounds like we do nothing, no boating, swimming (too cold) no fishing. The pavements are pretty and it's easy to take up the tiles to do maintenance and relay them and it looks as if they have never been disturbed. Your family sounds really talented, there are a lot of Portuguese and Portuguese Azorians in Ontario Canada, as well as Boston. We have not had kale soup in Portugal but spinach soup is popular and we have had that, carrot and potato soup is also popular in Portugal. Thanks so much for watching, have a great weekend.

I’m bringing my teenage kids to Albuferia this summer and after I booked found out it is the party capital of the Algarve. Delighted to see where the strip is, and glad it will be some distance from our apartment. Hoping to use buses and taxis while there. Great to have the walkabout for reference because in the summer heat, it could be too hot to explore everywhere and good to have an idea of directions.

Hello! I am from Portugal, but I don't remember Albufeira being that big. I remember when it was a lot small, and I use to go to the beach there. Well, I have been leaving in the United States for 43 years now, so it is very different from how I remember it. Thank you for the tour of this place.

@@hollyrichardson9728 It would be easiest and quickest to take a transfer from a private transfer company. The Albufeira train station is not in Albufeira but in Ferreiras 6km away. The bus does come into Albufeira but you would need to get from the Faro Airport to Faro downtown to catch the bus. Hope this helps.

Hi Chris we are now back home and enjoying the high winds and -14 with you , in fact today looking out of our appartment window we went from whiteout conditions to sort of blue sky and sun in minutes . I can't believe TH-cam on Alchemy from you guys again! Seen your comment on a video post so I came over but I hit the button again and let's see what happens from there. That's said I got to congratulate you guys as you guys are what people should be doing on TH-cam in short. Your channel looks good you always have great content you're great on camera and it shows in the views and you know what you're making our country proud and keep up the great work! I've been to every country from Iceland all the way down to Switzerland and I'm missing Italy, Monaco and of course Portugal so I am going to live vicariously through you guys for a little bit but I have to get there soon so I can finish them up.

👍 Nice video. My god! Almost no matter where one travels the American fast food joints have there foot in. I am surprised how many Indian restaurants are there. And Chinese too! I can’t imagine myself going to Portugal and seeking out Chinese food. Thank you for the insight. I know locals will likely seek them out though perhaps more than tourists. Looks like a great place to visit.
Good morning TFW as well as local restaurants there are lots of Chinese and Indian restaurants there. A lot of visitors are from England where Indian food is huge so they are catering to them, also lots of Irish pubs too. Many restaurants all do the famous English breakfast 🍳 which is hugely popular , guess people like that homey feeling. Have a great weekend 👍🍺🌺
When first we went to the UK, we were amazed and astonished how many Indian style restaurants there were. Even in the smallest of towns!

We've visited and stayed in many places in Portugal. Lisbon twice, Madeira Island (interesting but would never go back), Lagos but never made it to Albufeira. It is bigger than I expected. Lagos is much smaller. We are hoping to go to Portugal again this winter for 3 months if the travel restrictions are lifted and will be applying for an extended stay visa. Not sure where we are staying so I love your videos when you travel to different towns. Bom dia!
Like you we have travelled to a lot of places in Portugal including Madeira, Sao Miguel, Terceira (Azores), Lisbon, Porto, Sinatra, Cascais, Fatima but not the North East. Albufeira has a reputation of a wild party town in summer but winter is a totally different story, quieter and an age demographic that is more grey hair 👨🦳 lol
We chose Albufeira as a base to explore and film The Algarve because it’s in the centre of The Algarve and easy to travel west and east plus lots of choices for accommodation.
Let’s hope travel can resume soon, we have not made any plans for this winter yet. Enjoy your time there and thanks for watching our videos.

Love your videos (recently retired Canadians). I am curious in how you go about finding a place to stay in the Algarve. We are currently looking at the Vilamoura/Quinteria area but I am not so sure I like the idea of using Air BnB or VRBO at the moment as their cancellation policies are horrendous for long term stays when you take COVID into consideration. Thanks in advance.
We hear you recently we have heard that cancellation polices have changed we have found that finding a place and contacting them direct is a great way to start .With Covid we are hearing that lots of places aren’t reopening for business if you go on to Booking com they don’t even allow the dates for next year .We wish you good luck we would love to go back to Portugal 🇵🇹 next year but with the government travel site advising no non essential travel we wouldn’t be covered for travel Insurance so might have to wait a year. Thank you once again for the interesting walking tour. I see alot of commercial growth , but this is expected in a European tourist town. Have you been fishing, boating or swimming as yet? That would make a lovely film. Enjoy. If you have noticed we Portuguese pave everything. Many of the towns in New England with large Portuguese populations do the same. My family never did this but were very talented stone masons, ship builders, navigators, fine wood workers, etc. Have you had kale soup yet?
It sounds like we do nothing, no boating, swimming (too cold) no fishing. The pavements are pretty and it's easy to take up the tiles to do maintenance and relay them and it looks as if they have never been disturbed. Your family sounds really talented, there are a lot of Portuguese and Portuguese Azorians in Ontario Canada, as well as Boston. We have not had kale soup in Portugal but spinach soup is popular and we have had that, carrot and potato soup is also popular in Portugal. Thanks so much for watching, have a great weekend.
