if your gunna disconect the battery mate, dont let the lead just hang like that as they tend to flop back towards the terminal as in the shot of you cleaning the 'bonnet' area, little tip for ya is to go to halfords and ask for the little plastic caps off a new battery to pop them on when you have the leads dissconected. IMO id also be binning that chinese lucas battery and get a better one such as yuasa or varta.
I really enjoyed this video Jon, both for the products you used and your satisfaction of making this car your own. It might be slightly off channel but I'd like to see a video showing a new ownership oil change/service for the summer. Always look forward to your videos. All the best.
John. Great youtube content and so well delivered, no over the top hype. I've just bought the DAS 6 V2 pro after watching one of your videos. I've also enrolled for your online course to learn and give you a little payback. I also have a black 996 C4S, so will be watching the latest content with even more interest.
great vid john , see interiors are a funny one because its actually one part of the car i enjoy most when clean , even more so than exterior but at the same time its the one job i dislike doing the most
Great vid Jon! You prob already know this but ceramic trim restorers are good for deepening the red on seat belt release clips if they are pink and oxidised. 👍
Great video as always Jon... The 'banging it from behind' comment 😮 I'm such a child 😂 Still haven't spotted you out in the 4S yet. Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh as its on my shopping list 😎 👍
Quick tip for car mats: big boi blowr on max speed, no heat, will blast them free of debris to 80 - 90% done. Last bit you can hoover. I do this for my quick maintenance interior hoover and cleans on my own car, sometimes not even needing to give it a hoover. Very effective and gets out stubborn sand.
Great vid Jon. I bought some Gyeon products a few months ago along with a DA, so I’m looking forward to using them for the first time. I know Gyeon is a good product. Glad to know I made a good choice. I trust your honesty, sponsored or not 👍
Jon I tried one of those multi tool / cutters the other day with the sanding pad attachment on it with no sand paper on. The vibrations lift the dirt up out of the carpet fibers where you can then vac it off. I was quite impressed with the results on a carpet that looked 'clean'. I do appreciate not everyone will have access to one. I wonder if the vibrations of a DA polisher with just the backing pad would work? Keep up the great work.
Yes it does, I use my DA upside down with just the backing plate on, lifts a good 5-6 inch square, granted not as well as purpose designed machines but works well for me
Gyeon is the only big brand that I have not bought a single product ever. I don't like the pricing policy, but what bothers me most is that the small bottles are 400mL and not even 500mL.
I don't like the 400 ml thing either. But from testing these in comparisons gyeons pricing is normally cheaper that the market average. But the 4l bulk price can be lower than average when converted to 5l.
I literally did this to my wife’s car with a white leather interior this weekend gone using the same products!!!! Even used Leather Coating and the Trim Coating
A nice video to watch! The difference when you just bought the 911 C4S and after the interior detail is a great result! Jon what a luck Gyeon is sponsoring you, they got some awesome stuff. I love to work with this brand but the price is a bit high when looking for alternatives. This result most of the time getting the cheaper brand😢
Great video mate love an interior clean. I generally use 3 products on interiors. Apc on all pannels and I use that with an autoglym magic sponge on the leather and steering wheel then finish with gtechnic leather protect then every panel in the interior with window cleaner to keep everything matt like factory. Nice cheap clean and always turns out mint. Keep up the great vids bud 👍
Great. I have an identical leather brush. And I’ve been using a cloth leather cleanser. Feel like a noob again. Been rubbing in a leather balm thereafter micro fibre. Your finger mitt better idea !!!!!! When doing cloth seat extraction just been using APC binned off the fabric cleaner. I’ll use on seat belts. Have wondered diff between APC and dedicated fabric cleaner for seats????
Jon I had $60 of bonus rewards money on AutoGeek and I just purchased the Gyeon interior kit and Gyeon One Ceramic coating! they were both on offer so i got a banging deal for no cost! What a steal and bargain!
Nice video Jon. Learn some new stuff. And I have 3 of the Gyeon products in my arsenal. Bathe, Bug & Grime and Wet Coat. Greet products. Also nice to know that the world of microfibre keeps expanding. I use a lot of Rag Company products but when I go to replace them, I may give the Gyeon products a go. Really enjoyed this video. Big thumbs up from me.👍🏻👍🏻🇨🇦
Lovely spec on the Porsche! I’ve finally decided on 996 C4s What can I be expecting to pay of similar spec mileage etc? If you don’t mind me asking! Thanks
This one I think is 30k plus. Because it's been fully loaded with Porsche carbon which is very very very rare. You can get them for like 24 to 28k though but prices are rising. I want to keep mine for 1 or 2 years and then sell for 997 or 991.
I've used recommendations from your other videos to do an exterior detail on my new 991.2 Carrera GTS, now watching this for interior tips. One thing though, my interior is full of alcantara...any recommends for treating that in amongst the leather?
he joe just a very gentle clean of alcantara with a textile cleaner or fabric safe APC at low dilution and gentle soft brush. mop up with a suede microfiber or extract if you get it wetter.
I have hardly any leather in my interior (lucky/unlucky???) So my go to cleaning product is magic erasers (10 for £6 amazon). Just like yourself with the brush, light minimal pressure, lifts the dirt, grease and grime from the steering wheel. They also work wonders on the seatbelts but are awesome for the interior glass, they remove the oily grease that accumulates in vapours from the sun hitting the dashboard and leaves the glass crystal clear
Hi Jon - I don’t know if you ever answer questions (maybe another viewer could help). My front screen is quite marked with small scratches. In the sun it’s really annoying. Any recommendations as to how to remove them. Thx
Not keen on Gyeon glass cleaner. I used waffle towel, then micro fibre afterwards. As soon as I was driving in to sun it was smeary as hell. It takes loads of buffing off to get rid of smears. Shoulders were proper aching😖😂
Nice work on the inside. Looks very nice. Alot of hard work but it's all worth it. Bet your well happy how it came out. Looking forward to seeing the outside and how your going to approach it. Keep up the good work. Kappy
Hi Jon. Is there any particular reason why i would choose this over say carpro? I’ve kinda got into using this more and more over the last couple years or so, alongside trusted BH products. One thing i can’t bare seeing is a shed load of different products hanging around here there and everywhere? I also really like the carpro general MF cloths, which granted aren’t cheap, but damn they good. I’m only a weekend warrior here, but i look after my stuff. Cheers, and thanks for The video
carpro microfiber is top draw and I find their products really good as well. If you use stuff and you get on with it and it works then stick with it. But I love the attention to detail with all the gyeon stuff and the EVO coatings are superb.
Could you cover how you go about drying the car intrrior once you’ve used something like a wet vac? When ive done it, ive made sure mats are out , then put a small blow heater in in footwell. Opened the windows 1inch and just let the interior cook. Obviosuly you need to make sure the heater is t too near anything.
I have a small dehumidifer in the loft bit of my garage. put that in there and seal the the gap in the glass, leave it over night and its generally dry. avoiding over soaking the carpets so they are not dripping wet as well. In the summer it will dry on its own in the winter the dehumidifer will work mate.
i'm not gonna lie, that steering wheel seems to require a much stronger cleaner than mild. After cleaning, you could see the shine in the middle area whereas the top section looked mat. Or maybe it's just the angle of the camera
The best way to clean leather seems to be common topic on many YT detailing channels recently. DetailingSchool (all in German I'm afraid) have done loads on using brushes, magic erasers and pads (th-cam.com/video/KspFXcIwkCM/w-d-xo.html) on leather, some of the under the microscope pics of the options are horrifying. Seems they recommend just a good microfibre and your choice of cleaning solution, I did buy a Colourlock brush but after watching these vids have gone back to just a microfibre... as you've mentioned it does also depend on how aggressive you are... although magic erasers on leather are a big no no (it's just sandpaper in disguise).
Really great video. Maybe I've missed your interior stuff before so super interesting to see you work on the interior. Also. Sorry but it kills me the way you mispronounce Porsche 😔
@Vyker listen, Jon isn't one of these DB detailing TH-camrs, so no need for this. This "changes things a bit", please, he's been doing this for many years now and because Gyeon is a high quality, full line detailing company, sponsored or not, it's not so unbelievable to talk favorably about them...sponsored or not💯
@@Vyker tbf it's pretty obvious and for all the knowledge he shares and time he spends even answering questions i hope it is sponsored so it makes him worth hise while pumping out these vids
Jon. Thanks advise other day on glazes. Not a product I need. Have to get thr it and never return !!!! Remember the porker maiden content. You cannot not. Not like. An older 911. Literally cannot believe the collection of product you’ve got to choose from to hit the next car !!!!!!!
Brilliant and informative as always Jon, this has inspired me to get my finger out and start thinking about getting the car out of hibernation! - Big Gyon fanboy here too 🥸😝
This is one of the videos we've all been waiting for. Just an awesome job Jon!

Glad I’m not the only one to enjoy “Carry On” humour🤣🤣
Jon a wheels off cleaning of the porsche coming on strong?
