Most reliable, clean running and easy to maintain AR’s I’ve ever had. I’ve never experienced even one failure. Their products are truly a pleasure to shoot.
@@PrimaryWeaponsSystems good to know.. yeah I only go to that spot if it’s during the week. I could tell you some crazy stories of times I went there during the week. Although that particular spot that far back doesn’t usually see many people. They are too busy shooting right next to other people closer to the road.
I did an incredibly similar build but in 6.5 Grendel. I call it the MK12 Gen 2. Figured if the MK12 continued development this is what it would end up as.
@@PrimaryWeaponsSystems Shoot the new 100gr ELD-VT from Hornady in Grendel. Pretty impressive load. I waterlines it at 1000yds and it was really tight in the vertical. I have not been off-steel with it yet, and I’ve only shot it at 700, 800, and 1000yds. I normally shoot 123gr ELD-M in Grendel for those distances. When I ran my real-world impacts vs Hornady Doppler data for 6mm ARC with 103, 105, and 110gr, they mirrored each other with the 100gr ELD-VT. Grendel hits that steel so much harder than 5.56 77gr though. 12” Grendel spanks a 24” bolt gun in .223 shooting hot 77s at 800yds. You can hear and see the difference like night and day. No real need for 18” guns. I have 3x 18” Grendels and really like shooting the 12” the most.
It's a IPSC Silhouette Auto Reset Target from MGM targets. Definitely has become by favorite steel target shooting system for long range. Portable and easy to setup.
While not quite exact, when compared to my DD Mk12 all kitted up, this weighs less. So I'd guess around 10-11 pounds. It's a lot lighter than you expect when you pick it up. I'd be happy to hike around with this. It helps the can is super light.
@@practical_precision_shooters Yes. The barrel is free floating and the piston system does not affect harmonics. A more competent shooter than myself can easy print under 1/2 inch out of this upper, or nearly any other 556 upper from us.
@@PrimaryWeaponsSystemsshhh....you have a website and I'm sure that person with a hand held device or PC will one day figure it out. ....FML .....some people.....this is why some people shouldn't have nice things. WTF
I was the gunsmith at a major police department in the southwest. We had so many problems with PWS regarding quality control and customer service that we dumped them and now use something else. I would be cautious buying their product if you are actually be a gunfighter. If you are going to shoot paper, have fun
@@slawnandtree we had DI guns and piston guns from PWS. Pretty much every 11 inch piston gun had the piston attachment shear at least once. DI guns tried to use their over heavy BCGs just added a gas key. The weight was too much to reliably cycle. Their fix was to enlarge the gas port. Still not enough to have the bolt hold open work reliably. Finally changed the BCG to standard but used YFS screw to secure the gas key causing several to shear off the BCG. Barrels shot out and were key-holing bullets after about 6k rounds. I could go on but I think that is plenty to give you an idea
I wonder if there was a way they could improve that. Maybe reinforcing the piston attachment somehow? Can that component be forged to add some durability perhaps? I’ve always wondered what Cold Hammer forged medium-contour barrel, hammer forged piston attachment, and a shovelnosed Mk1 Alpha rail would be like. But that sounds expensive…
I've never had any issues on either my 300blk, my mk111 or mk116.. my mk111 is on a full auto lower. Never broken any nor key holed. It prolly has close to 15k rounds thru it. Mostly all suppressed .
This upper seems super sweet. I think it seemed cooler before the rattle can and black can. But, y’all redeemed it when you ejected the live after placing it on the tripod. Just playing, very interesting setup, super impressive really.
@@PrimaryWeaponsSystems Okay, I wouldn’t have known you could paint it and shoot without this. I prefer you offer some education on your stuff and why it is great.
My experience with them is with the BRN-180 in .300blk. It runs phenomenally. Piston setups also suppress really well so you don't really get any sort of 'port pop' when shooting suppressed.
For me it's the long stroke piston in 7.62x39. AK piston style and AR components made it the best of both for me. Quality products with amazing customer service. When there was an issue they fixed it for me. I will back them up.
Ive had 2 pws guns. One was a mk220 chambered in .308 match and a mk111 mod2 chambered in 7.62x39. Both guns had many issues. So many problems, i finally called it quits on pws. The idea is great, but the execution is poor to say the least.
What, no torque wrench for the scope mount? Slam together an overpriced rifle with all the goodies in a few minutes, then, take ten times that time and rattle-can it? It's not that great a rifle to begin with. I agree with the previous commenter who said that their QC is not so great. What that guy demonstrated is classic Symbolism over Substance; spend a ton of money, slap the parts together, then try to make it look tacti-cool and go out and run it, only to find that the scope will not zero, it then falls off, the gun breaks in 53 rounds, and he's got paint all over his hands, jeans, and in his bloodstream, because he had to follow the current fad recipe and couldn't even do it correctly. Ugh! This is cringe at best and sends the wrong message to the younger new people getting into this sport. How about watching School of the American Rifle for a few hours to learn how they work, and find a decent gunsmith school that at least teaches you how to mount a scope. Instant gratification is the way of the Gen Z, Y, and whatever they are now. Too bad all of this wouldn't fit in a twit, uh, I mean an X, or is it a Blah: where u at?
I’ve owned several PWS rifles(MK116,MK118,MK218, and MK220). The PWS MK118 is by far my favorite 223/556 AR15 that I’ve ever owned. 👍🏼👏🏼

that took mad skills to assemble that hats off to you hope your thumbs are ok after pushing those 2 pins in
Idaho boy here.. that’s the exact same spot I do my long range shooting also. Looks like a great build. 💪
