Two of the hardest working, and most handsome men working in the motion picture industry. Cheers for a year of insightful reviews of cinema. Have a very happy Christmas and may the new year hold many blessings for you both and all your loved ones. Peace 🕊️
Wow this sounds bleak and horrific and almost mandatory to watch. I'll get my mind in the right mindset but I'll definitely check it out. Appreciate you both!
I absolutely dig films like this. Wake up calls and provocative pieces that essentially outline where we are going if we don’t resist and put a stop to shit!
I miss life before cell phones, or at least smart phones. Sometimes I'm tempted to buy a flip phone! I find comfort in shows and movies before smart phones. When no one is talking about social media and followers and all of that.
I'm a bit morbid, so I'd watch this. I also sometimes morally wrestle with giving up my cellphone. Two things that could pair well with this are the Black Mirror episode The Waldo Moment and notorious scifi writer Harland Ellison's I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream. The latter is absolutely terrifying.
Do not watch it on your own, get a friend, a trink, do some ritlin, and watch with no inturruptions. Ground breaking. Mind blown. Just give it al the awards already
I watched the trailer before this review and it scared me, made me sad and mad! I feel like I'll probably skip this because things are already so bad!!!!
Samantha Morton is a phenom actress. She really hasn't had a meaty role in quite a while either despite giving consistently good performances. It is interesting she plays a mute person in this film. She also did so exceedingly well in Woody Allen's "Sweet and Lowdown." I am more Libertarian. Although I don't agree with them on everything. They have their severe flaws. But so do the Republicans and Democrats. Technology is scary and it is raising many civil liberties and civil rights issues. Corporations are taking advantage of technology to control and manipulate us right now!
I think the interesting thing about futuristic stories (or stories set in the future) is that in the past, stories were often hopeful; now they're overwhelmingly dystopian. I think this is an example of collective catastrophizing, but still a healthy way to process the present.
1984 was anything but showing a bright future. And if you read a lot quality Science Fiction you might find the majority of these stories are dystopian in some kind of way.
have you guys ever watched something called the last and first men, a kind of movie/warning too, but is more entropy then anything else threatening humans. Anyways the movie is narrated by Tilda Swindon...Id love to hear you guys commenting older movies...
Giving an opinion on a subject matter, in conversation. It may, lead me to distraction...especially, when the knowledge is from an expert...*but* the listener says that's not an *original thought...* 🙁So, this narrative is important, in not being, uhm silenced 🤨 You're correct in describing this as perhaps, intimidating, to watch this outcome in the future...
i don't think the best teacher is adversity, this is what humans keep saying but that's a past thinking with a focus on survival all the time. the best teacher is in fact love, profound deep love that has no title by someone who is in your life, but a universal unending love you can have for any moment and from any being equally, if you allow yourself. and 99% of people haven't experienced being in love - and i say "in love" not as a verb but as a noun; as if it surrounds you and envelops you in a room. second, as a person who worked in climate research for 10 years and then overlapping some of that for like 8 years in social services and health research- most news was and still are PR companies and "journalists" are PR agents. as a person who sourced the social science and scientific literature, the news has been most often inaccurate and selling fear, and the mouthpiece has been the "journalists". maybe a few disseminate facts, but the vast vast majority do not. an important factor to effect change is to see the news and most journalists as they have always been, they are selling stories to get you to buy things and be submissive in fear. Again as someone who has worked in research in any given day I can go through 30 articles and point out the agenda in a journalist's article and their misinformation of the facts.
Was unimpressed by this one. If it were a documentary I would have enjoyed it more but the mesh with a narrative story made it very blah. Love you guys tho!

I’ve always loved y’all’s take on films but these observations about the speed and impact of tech on mankind is just so spot on. Please keep it up!
I enjoy the drollness of Josephs, "Sure."

Flip phones mean you kinda have to use them as...phones. 😅
I miss my old Sidekick.
How did we get here? All it takes for evil to succeed is for good people to sit there and do NOTHING!
Cannot wait to watch this. Also, Samantha Morton played the outcast in Michael Winterbottom’s similarly bleakly dystopian CODE 46 twenty years ago.
Brilliant! @Twintalk with the Sidley Twins recommented your channel.
Ok, so it's good to see Samantha Morton in a good flick. Happy Holidays, guys!
Samantha Morton is BACK! She is so GIFTED! Amy is an INSIGHTFUL and BEAUTIFULLY done documentary. ❤
Sidney twins love you guys, told us to come over and take a look👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

i'm in the mood to think and feel...always. Thank you!
New subscriber!! Was recommended by The Sidley Twins !!!!
This one looks really interesting and I can’t wait to check it out, glad you guys reviewed it!
5:43 "Cancelled" is the word you're looking for.
Or trolled…
Should have called it 2030

Definitely sounds like a call to action film
Holy cow, that shirt!
FINALLY a review where Joseph and Nick are not in agreement with the rating! 😀

I saw it. I am now a broken man... It is extremely tough to get thru. If you know, you know

I felt it as an update to Orwell's 1984.
Honestly, I’m scared to watch this move. World is being too much scare.
The trailer made me SPIRAL the other day!
this sounds intense, I can't wait to see it - but also not - lol - thank you for this fantastic breakdown.

Have yall reviewed ‘the return’ movie that recently released in theaters?
Nick! Excited for anything coming to Sundance?✨✨✨
Okay this movie sound like my jam
I’m ready for the after life..seriously, who would want to survive in such a dystopian world.? No thanks…why even bother?
Where can I watch this? It seems to be no where.

Loved 12 monkeys just watching 2073 its a very bleak future. One noone would choose to live in.
Well done, but it has a far-left bias.
That's what I thought . No one from either left or right would want this for there childs future it's of no use to anyone.
That’s not the quote from The Brutalist. It’s not about the journey, it’s the destination that’s important.
