    Dr. Kedar is a giant. If more people listened to his lectures and actually learned about the history and the culture of the region, that would be good for the world and for Israel.

      The accent is too strong for this American Jew to understand except the last name Weisel. ( Wiesel?). And no captions are offered in the embedded nor full TH-cam. A waste.

    I read the Torah not all yet. But as for my understanding there is no Palestinian. Or Palestine. There is Philistine yes. But these people were foreigners in the land of Israel. They were put there by Ancient Egyptians who conquered these people that were sea farers or what we called Aegean when ancient egyptian warriors conquered some of israel’s city. Colonizers like britain and rome and so is the USA before sucks in making one country’s original history covered. Americans living in USA are mostly of african and european descent. Original people there are the native americans whom they tried to swipe off in the face of the planet by putting desease on them and kill them through wars which they still doing it in other country in Asia or middles east. There is archaeological discovery of Philistine cemetery in Israel and according to DNA result they were not of Arab descent. They were of Aegean or sea people from greece. Mohammed is known of spreading his own religion the Islam using terror. Even Egypt wasn’t a muslim country before. So as other Arab countries. Reading some passage from Koran is like it’s really a copy cat of Torah with some editing by Mohammed according to his own advantage mostly when it comes to having minor age wife.

      aviel ego Jesus is a Jew. He taught people to pray to the Father. He got a lot of enemy. Got angry when people who sell or made the temple in old Jerusalem like a market as people packed there for the Passover. By gaining more followers for teaching peace and love, other Jews got envy. So to speak, Jesus visit the Temple in Jerusalem. Meaning Jerusalem is really for Israel. So I wonder why there is a mosque in Temple Mount. And why Israel needs an approval from other countries around the world that Jerusalem is for Israel, if it’s your country do whatever good and right for your country and don’t be just a puppet of other country.

    People in Egypt, Lebanon, Iraq etc can say that, probably they have some DNA link to the previous generations. But culturally, they use the culture and language of a people and civilization which conquered the lands in the 7th century CE.
    No doubt, many Palestinian Arabs have Jewish (and Samaritan) ancestors who converted to Christianity and then Islam under diress, belief or wanting to 'get on in the world'. I wonder, if in the future, a % of Palestinan Arabs would convert to Judaism, which, they could probably genuinely say was the religion and nationality of their forefather or, at least a part of their geneaology? Maybe they'd convert, as their ancestors did to Islam, for wishing to adapt and fit in and get on in life, or/and they believe their original identity was that of a Jewish person which was changed by the Arab Conquest in 7CE and later.

  • @SionTJobbins
    @SionTJobbins 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Dr Kedar is a little too romantic about tribal dictatorship. If the Arabs want it fine, they're problem, not mine. But democracy is better for Wester societies. I don't think the nation state is so distant to Arabs now - they support their football teams, they fight wars against other Arab nation states and the PLO nor Hamas could function is society was solely based on tribal alligence. The Palestinain Arabs were not a nation, but by now, partly because the other Arab states have denied Palestinians full citizenship and because of their experience under Israeli rule, they now are a nation, or a people but part of the greater Arab nation.

    Whatever name you give them some people were living there in a place which the called Palestine. The country USA was not named so settler colonials gave the name. So Palestinians were living there without prosecution of any other. They were Human life. Even if they were nomad beduin. They lived there in places without causing problems for any others. Its Jewish community, prosecuted all over western world, joined local jewish community replacing locals, Palestinians call themseves now, made refugees. 7 hundreds thousands of those people need not to know so much history.
