Devon Malcolm, with his comically inept fielding, really was cricket's Mr Magoo. Fine bowler though on his day. The difference between the two sides in this match was definitely the catching. It is sad, watching this again, to see Gooch and Gatting ending their test careers on such low notes. It was a tour too far for both of them. There was no last hurrah here for either.
Still remember getting up at 5 30 anticipating another england win after adelaide...that dreadful catch dropping day by england just ruin the day...lol so many fond memories
If England had managed to keep fit, and play Frasier, Lewis and Gough - they may have had a chance. But the slow scoring with Hick cos them a test and the bad catching in the last test also didn't help. Great upload
7 catches dropped by england team in the test match. Was this a record for ashes test match? So many England batsman getting out to yorkers. Was this another record? Video quality is so so poor.
It really hadn’t. I travelled around the country and watched all the tests. They were poor most of the time. Sure they pulled off the odd blinding catch (Steve Rhodes comes to mind) but on the main not good.
These are real cricket. Full of great players. Thanks for upload.
One of the best looking series down under
Just wanted to say thanks loads for these. Brilliant to see some proper length test match highlights :)
This is the most English performance by England I think I have ever seen. dropped catches nearly outnumber wickets!
Closest Waugh got to a Test century at the WACA
Had forgotten just how bad in the field England were back then so glad they have improved somewhat these days
Those Jo angel yorkers!
Ramprakash excelled in tests in Australia.
Last Test for Gooch and Gatting
@GRAND LEAGUE DREAM 11 TEAM When did he play again?
One too many for both. Perhaps no others possible?

To be fair to Devon he dropped a couple (one of his own bowling which he clearly did not see) but the slp and wicet keeper also let him down
Thanks for the upload.
Classic England lol.

This is at Perth test match.even if u wake up at 5 30 am ist it will not work out because western australia 8 o clock ist am match starts

RIP Graham Thorpe
We was really crap in the 90’s..
If Australia caught like England, England would have won 5-0
England fielding dreadful, but the Aussie catching was brilliant. It's one of the key reasons why they became the best team in the world.
Did Malcolm actually grass the catch off the top edged hook?
I have never seen so many dropped catches in an innings in my life.
Edit: England dropped 3 more catches after initial comment....
Steve Rhodes would be out of his depth at 4th grade level
Jack Russell should have been picked for this tour. Steve Rhodes was sadly out of his depth on this tour.
Yes, 'Catches win matches.'
geez gatting got bowled a lot
Why did these highlights miss out Angel being run out by Gooch in the second innings?

If u drop 4 cathes b4 lunch how do u expect to win
Ziad Khan simple answer, you can't.
As the saying goes, "catches win matches".
England's catching had actually been generally good in the series up until now, but they messed it up in this match.

diabolical fielding England
no wonder Graham gooch calls it in his final test series "the worst fielding side I've ever been in"
Goochie was the first one to drop Slater..
Jo Angel caveman!
Christ England were shite in the field this Test!
