    Great topic, not talked about enough! I went from a 22-year career in entertainment and in 2020 pivoted to web design which I always enjoyed, and decided to make a career out of it. The first few years were rough but I kept my day job to bring in cash while I figured out the new career and now I am working full-time in web design and development and loving every minute of it. The key is to work on it every single day and know that it will take time so be patient. The way to be able to be patient is to pick something you absolutely love doing - then the time just flies by! Good luck to everyone reading this! Keep going!

    This video is pure gold for anyone considering a career pivot into web design. Hearing firsthand experiences from Isaac and Dan is incredibly inspiring. It's great to see that people from diverse backgrounds are finding success in this field. Building a strong portfolio and overcoming imposter syndrome are real challenges, but their stories show it's absolutely achievable.

      Literally in the video, the first few minutes that guy introduced himself. Design is way less dangerous than getting shot at as a cop.

      Also, not to get controversial here but getting tf away from corruption is a very real and valid reason some do too, especially if you're in the US or one of the many countries that have it even worse. There's a guy from my old high school friend group that had completed his classes and was literally officially accepted in a job as a prison warden the same day a scandal broke not too far away from a local prison basically freezing a new inmate to death and trying to cover it up. Nasty shit, he still went through with it but it would've been totally valid if he bailed out at that moment.
      Don't even get me started on the Officer Darby situation. TL;DR, two good cops try to talk a man down from suicide, then Mr. Douche charges in with a shotgun and kills the suicidal man for... Not dropping the gun... He had on his own head... The two good cops get punished while the murderous one gets rewarded, then thanks to the two good ones reaching out to a DA they get the murderous one convicted. But not for long because my entire local system from the department to half the city council and mayor all bent over backwards to defend him until they finally got his conviction overturned on a technicality.
      Far as I'm aware the two good ones are still gone from the force (wouldn't blame them for a second if they quit for good, ashamed of what the so-called "profession" has become) and now many like myself are left with a very deep seeded distrust of the entire system for it, and wouldn't even think about joining it and would absolutely be abandoning ship if we were already a part of it

      Seems my comment got auto filtered but it could've stood to be shorter less ranty and more to the point anyway: tl;dr corruption and the dangers it brings both professionally and personally is a very unfortunate and valid reason for many too.
      For an example unfortunately very local to me see: Officer Darby murder conviction overturned. Make note especially how the two "good ones" were reprimanded and subsequently left the force and at least as far as I know never came back.

    Almost everything can be found for free on the internet. Especially in times of AI.
    If you have the money why not, go for it, but if you have passion you don’t need that at all.

    If you thinking to switch to the position of a web designer - DON'T. Seriously, go take some average website screenshots (let's be real you are not going to be the best in the first several years), make a mock portfolio, and send your resume to several hundred of job listings, see how many replies you get. Seriously unless you will be selling your own product do your research first.

    • @FluxAcademy
      @FluxAcademy  21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Pretty sure that's fraudulent.

    • @SprayArtNYC
      @SprayArtNYC 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@FluxAcademy it is not fraudulent, it is called market research. Numerous entrepreneurs release websites with non-existing products just to see if future product attracts customers. I merely suggested to do the same, to see how good are you chances and getting hired in today's market, I do not suggest getting a job on fake info, I suggested market research. Even if you'll get an offer you can decline it. Obviously you not gonna agree with me because you selling a course (which is legit and by no means I say it's not worth it) but I would hate to see people wasting their time on a skill they can not sell.
