Show Jerome Gambite to us if you already show Italian
I just watched it, and it's genial ! of course, following his advices, all seemed so easy to solve , but that's the fact !
Mate in two move(♜ cheek h4,♗ capture ♜ ♟ cheek g4 mate)
Is the cat behind you real? :)
I like how you have a cat and at the same time teaching us chess.😺
One of the best overall chess channels. Thank you.
Puzzle solution:
-.- Rh4 (sacking it...only legal move for white is BxR)
BxR g4# (White's bishop now sits on h4, so king's blocked from retreating there. Knight on h5 covers the g3 square and knight on e5 protects the pawn)
😱😱😱
damn, that was a nice one, i was trying to protect my rook, but this is amazing
Damn, well done mate. I was thinking how can I get rid of that Bishop because it was getting in the way and stopping me from checking him using the rook. And all along this was in fact the answer!! 😂
This is an easy puzzle bro
Rook to H4, Bishop takes Rook, Pawn to G4, Checkmate
I would like to see more lessons on irregular openings too. Enjoyed this opening and really have had some great results!
This video was priceless.
Now I see those moves cominga mile away and I have the tools I need to defeat the attempts. Thank You !
Great lesson from GM Ismirnov.
Love your vids Igor, I start my day with a morning coffee and a chess lesson. How are things going for you in Ukraine with all the fighting? Are you safe?

Loving your videos and tutorials thank you 🙏
learning a lot thanks
Love your "lounge kitty" sitting in the background. 😻
Thanks for the video Igor ~ I love how your cat sits there on the mantle place.
Thanks for this very informative and concise video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you!
I'm a big fan of showing advantages of both sides of an opening.
Great video!! i'm also considering ...Na5 (instead of ...Bb4).
Puzzle: 1...Rh4+ 2.Bxh4 g4#
As a white bishop's opening player I play 8.a3 at 10:29. I hope for 8...Ba5?? which is an innocent looking move but also a tactical blunder. White wins a piece by playing 9.Nxd5 Bxd5 10.Bxd5 Qxd5 11.b4 Bb6 12.c4 Q moves 13.c5, trapping the bishop.
But 8...Bxc3 is safe and even 8...Be7 should be fine.
Rh4 then pawn push
Thankyou❤️
Puzzle's answer that i found: sack the rook on h4, taking with the bishop is the only legal move, and after that pawn to g4 is mate.
Puzzle: Rh4+ forcing Bxh4 and then g4 is CHECKMATE!
Please make a video about how to play against English opening as black....
Thanks for the suggestion. We will make a note of it.
Yes please
English opening is symmetrical to white for the first 6 moves. With black lining the white bishop on whites light rook and whites bishop on blacks dark rook.
This opening I always liked playing as black since both players are similarly equal in minor point values.
This is slowly becoming the best chess channel out there
best Chess Channel !
Do you have anything on the tactical Sicilian?
The funny thing is, at least on Lichess, after e4 e5 Bc4, Nf6 is considered the "Berlin Defense" of the Bishop's Opening. However, the Bishop's Opening Berlin Defense is NOWHERE NEAR as solid as the Ruy Lopez Berlin Defense. The title of the opening gave me the misconception that it was super solid and impenetrable, until I realized White had the shot d4. I tried experimenting with the countershot d5 to try and give back all the fun to Black, but d5 is considered an inaccuracy and White has a pretty forcing line leading to a +1 advantage.
Folks, don't mistake the Bishop's Opening Berlin for the Ruy Lopez Berlin. They are not the same thing and the Ruy Lopez Berlin is much, much more solid.
Sheer love!

Rook moves to check king and white must take with Bishop and pawn to G4 checkmate

R-h4 check, BxR, P-g4 mate.
Hi. In the position where black puts bishop on b4 to pin white’s knight, you never cover what to do if white pushes a3 to kick the bishop out, but I’m fairly confident that it will be met with a3. What then?
Bishops opening is the same opening as Lindon game.
someone tried a bishop's opening on me and it occurred to me to respond with 2 ... q-g5 threatening the pawn at g2. assuming there's a refutation, my opponent didn't know it and i ended up blowing up their kingside.
what should white do in response to that?
Rh4+,rxh4,g4+
Someone please explain, why does white have an advantage at 5:15? Black is one move ahead in threatening the rook/queen with his knight.
I have a similar looking ginger cat.. 😊
1. ... Rh4+
2. BxR g4+ mate
can you play sicilian defense against it ?
I think I tend to disagree. You can only play 2...Nc6, if you are prepared for them to play 3.Nf3 which is a decent amount of prep. I think 2...Nf6 is better, you have to play the urusov as black which is difficult but if you know what you are doing, you can remove the teeth from it and get a playable position.
Ra4 bxr, pb4 mate
Castle to h4 bishop takes then pawn to g4 checkmate
I just got smoked by the bishops opening, watched this video, then my next game was vs bishops opening, and I destroyed him. I've subscribed. Thank you!
My guy, I have been terrorising people with this opening since watching this video. You can almost hear them muttering wtf as they find they've gone from what looked like a perfectly reasonable move and then watch their worst nightmares unfolding 😂
Igor, how does White reply to 2... Qg4. I played 3. g3 and ended up losing as White.
you forgot e5 qf6 bc5 noted to greco in his chess book force to Italian game lol
1. Rh4+ Bxh4 2.g4#
Puzzle solution. 1....Rh4+!! 2. Bxh4 g4#.
10:30 what if A3?
1. ... Rh4+
2. Bxh4 g4#
1:35 How is White better after Black's retreat 1 e4 e5 2 Bc4 Nf6 3 d4 exd4 4 Nf3 Nxe4 5 Qxd4 Nf6 ?
What is good about 3 d4 ? Nothing. So what is bad about 2 ... Nf6 ?
If Black were an engine, I would say nothing is wrong with your suggestion. It's probably even or close to it. However, in a real game after the Knight is forced back to f6 to avoid being captured by the Queen, White will continue with Nc3. At this point White has 4 pieces developed as opposed to only 1 for Black. More often than not, these early leads in development tend to make the games more difficult for the side that is wasting tempos avoiding captures.
Rook h4 check, bxh4 , g4
Wondering about what white can do if black queen slides to corner to attack the white pawn after the white bishop moves?
2. ...d5 is good
why not pawn a3 to remove the pin?
Rh4 g4+
I love the bishop opening but what defense can i use for the bishop opening
I use sicilian.😊
How are things in crimea?

My fav to counter this calabrese gambit
What if white plays Q-e2 at 8.30?
in the mean time the cat is thinking fcking chess talk again 🤣
Puzzle Solution. R-c4 then n-f4 check
Puzzle:
It’s a pawn check mate.
Rh4!+ Bxh4
g4!!#
With Bishop on B4, why can't you counter with pawn on A5?
Puzzle is mate in two - N-F4 check followed by R - G4 mate. Rh4 fails as after bishop takes and G4 king can just take knight on H5.
Scrub that - pawn g4 is mate.
What about bg5?
rh4, nf4
I see so many people playing bc4 against d6 and immediately lose lol.
my answer : first R-G4. then N-F4 checkmate. Thanks
Start with c5🤫
wait, stop. I'm a new player so maybe I'm missing something but HOW is knight to C5 the best defense? White doesn't NEED to move to e4 at all. The bishop-queen attack combo can be carried off perfectly without it.
1 Rh4 check:BxR: 2 Pg4 check mate
Knight h5 to f4, King h3 to g3 is only available square. Then, f4 to e2 check. King back to h3. Finally, Rook e4 to h4 checkmate.
1 … Rh4+ 2 Bxh4 ; g4#
According to statistics, there is a line where white trumps move Bb4 with Bg5 and after pawn attacks on h6 game continues with 6.Bxf6 Bxc3+ 7.bxc3 Qxf6 8.Ne2 d6 9.O-O g5, and then the move 10.d4 has very good results for white.
Your video doesnt even mention Bg5 move.
G5 to g4
WHAT? could you like, repeat that whole thing
Puzzle: Rh4+ Bxh4, g4#
Rook H4 then mate with the pasn
Rh4+ sacking the rook after bxh4 g4#
black should play Rh4 check, white has the only move Bxh4, and then black play g4 mate
Rook check & pawn chackmate
1...Ra5 is mating e.g. BxR 2...b5#
Rook h4
1. ... Rh4+ my answer to your puzzle
Did you just read my mind? I got recently destroyed by this opening, +2 in 5 moves. Thanks!
Cute cat sleeping
I can't find.Please solve the puzzle
Th4 + Bh4* g4++
Rh4+ Bxh4 g4#
Rook to h4
Puzzle solution : pf5 (protecting rook and taking g4 square), Qxg4 pxg4, Bg3 (attacking knight) kd4+, Bxd4 pxd4, pg3 pxd3, pxd3 and pd3 to promote up a knight and pawn hahahaha
JK pf5 leads to perpetual check by queen not exchange
ke4+, Kg3 kd2+ (queen could take but… it’s losing bc protected by rook), Kh3 kg1+ (bishop could take but rook finally has Rh4#), Kg3 Rg4#
Congratulations to Ukraine team for their winning at Olympiad chess even though they're in stressful war situation.
what to do when blacks bishop on b4 is being attacked by whites pawn at a3 instead of whites bishop on d2
