Welcome to the greatest sport there is!! My advise to you is always have the stick in your hand, where ever you go. It will help you get comfortable moving with it, switching hands, cradling, everything! If you are inexperienced, I would suggest starting with a lighter, composite stick. Especailly using a long stick. Long poles are already heavy as it is, using a wooden one is that much heavier. Good luck!!!
Can you detail your table saw set-up? I've been looking to buy a reliable one, and my son recently asked if we could make a wood shaft. I don't know a damn thing about wood-working. Thanks!
I don't remember the exact model number, but I had purchased a skill table saw, it was relatively cheap, but it did what I needed to get done, but replaced the blade for a better quality one. In order to make the cuts, I just angled the blade to 45, and made sure the blade was just above the top of the wood. I was able to see a few Fairfield games this year, played awesome against the first half of the Drexel game!

I have just been using a coat of lacquer on it. So far it has been holding up extremely well

It’s a tool that you use to push the wood through the cutter so then you don’t get cut.
