    1.5"x36" PVC pipe
    1"x30" Wooden Dowel
    I used a heat gun, but you can also use boiling water.

    Originally I believed that you'd need to utilize a factory like these major companies and couldn't do something like this at home. I stand corrected. This is pretty incredible our sport needs more individuals like yourself.

    @7:38 as soon as you make a rig like that you can probably start cranking a few of these out with just more pvc edit: and after playing with it so many fine tuning adjustments can be made!! This is so cool to see especially with lacrosse being added to the olympics for 2028!!!

    Mad respect for this. Lacrosse gear is expensive at times, meaning some kids may never get to play a game. This goes to show that if you’re motivated enough to do something you can. For people in the states money isn’t much of an issue. But if a child in say Africa can pick up anything to make a stick, it’ll be a companion as well as an opportunity

    I made my first lacrosse stick 30+ years ago out of gray plastic conduit, plexiglas, and wingnuts. I knew it was too dangerous to play with so I saved up some money and bought a Kwickstik traditional. I wish I still had em both.

      How'd it go?

    • @ryaniskra8057
      @ryaniskra8057 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately, my head turned out very crude... my PVC pipe was to thick to flatten efficiently. I ended up just cutting the shape out of the curved pipe. I didn't know if my belt sander was in good condition, and didn't want to spend a lot of time sanding with just sandpaper. So I tried my best to cut as close as possible to my lines (I should mention I tried to incorporate some offset, which was a bad idea for a first try), but it did not turn out well. I still shaped the plastic into a head though, and that process went well. So I guess the biggest problem with the final product was just that some parts ended up too thin or unequal. I really want to try again when I have time, though.

    Why is it called “Red Star Lacrosse?” Seems related to communism

    • @redstarlacrosse
      @redstarlacrosse  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nothing to do with communism. The California state flag has a red star and a bear on it, and I am from California. California's use of the red star predates the existence of state communism. The theory of communism, as a philosophical, social, political, and economic ideology dates WAY back, but it wasn't until The October Revolution that followed the Russian Civil War that the red star became a symbol of Russian communism, and that was in 1917. The red star was first used in California on the the Lone Star Flag...in 1836, eighty one years before the commies stole it ;-)
