Lurrus works REALLY well with Bartolomé del Presidio. I threw what I had together just to see and it was solid. With more thought I think it could be silly.
I LOVE this video topic! I built a Kenrith deck that can have Zirda, Keruga, Obosh OR Jegantha without changing the main deck. Yeah it’s janky but with tons of 3 mana cost creatures tapping for mana, whichever companion I choose for the game I get to have fun ramping and doing Kenrith stuff regardless. Galadriel Light of Valinor and Keruga, or how my LGS has known it as, my Lady Ga/Ga deck. Blink and etb, and taking advantage of Galadriel alliance ability, everyone who has played it loves when the wheel starts turning. Keruga refills my hand, and refilling it multiple times feels great. Honestly, I don’t feel the restraint too much, and it really led me to one of my fav builds.
no way! i just finished assembling my first companion deck: frodo, sauron’s bane lurrus deck! it is a more control ish deck, that can reuse some valuable cards like que white creatures that fetches plains, dark confidant, mother and giver of runes, and some bodyguard creatures that protect either lurrus o frodo, plus some misha bubble and wedding invitations for more draw. really fun deck, just played my first games with it yesterday
I made umori with ramos, dragon engine. All creatures, every mutate creature except for the 2 that interact with instants and sorceries. Add a bunch of "return this creature to your hand when it dies" type creatures and you have a deck that constantly recurs mutate effects and makes explosive plays every turn with ramos' mana ability.
I have Kaheera with my Arahbo deck, and it's the only one I have run. Honestly, I forget about it most of the time lol. Also realized I was running it illegally for a short time due to having Metallic Mimic in the deck 🤦
I play a 3 commander deck with Kodak of the east tree merlia elf and umuri. It’s actually very fun as it’s elfball however the extra 3 for each companion makes them hard to play in commander. Where I want to build them with thier curve in mind like I play my companion turn 3 then my commander turn 4. The companions now instead want us to use them as late game combowers witch makes then like ehh.
It took me forever to even find a spot for a companion that was actually good. With umori the cost reduction allows me to storm of into craterhoof behemoth witch while good its less interesting lategame as it has less time on the bord for the cost of only playing creatures to seem worth it
I feel so out of place with everyone else idea all i did was make the lost cavern of ixalon precon dinosaur deck have a companion and add a few things to it with kaheera as the companion and i kept patlaza as the commander for the deck
Lutri being banned full-stop is just stupid. As a companion sure, its not an amazing card but its a free 101st card but as a commander (dunno why he would be used like that) or as part of the 99 there is no reason he should be on the ban list

I built a Vial Smasher and Jeska with Obosh companion a month ago and it is one of the most fun decks I have!
Have been tempted to build it for a while. May be the good opportunity to do so!
